“I literally cannot express my gratitude for Nick and Joe at the Bloomfield and Union locations of this funeral home. My father-in-law suddenly passed away on March 31, 2025. I called a multitude of funeral homes and I knew within the first two minutes that this was the place we wanted to use.

The Process:
They were kind, helpful, gave me a full and transparent price breakdown with no hidden fees or surprises. They walked me through every step of the process, reminded me and my family of what we needed to do to prepare, and were INSANELY patient about everything. We had a tight turn around on the funeral as many people were traveling from out of state. My father in law passed on Monday and we were able to hold a BEAUTIFUL viewing and funeral on Friday and Saturday. In fact, another popular funeral home I called said verbatim “ I don’t know if we can get it done in that time frame, and what’s the rush?”. Nick and Joe never once questioned our decisions and got it done with impeccable timing.

The Payment:
They were extremely flexible on payment and very accommodative on our needs. They went above and beyond in making sure we got everything we wanted at a price that we could afford.

The Facility:
The location was BEAUTIFUL. I literally cannot stress enough how stunning it was. I planned my mother’s funeral back in 2021 and while that funeral home did a good job, many funeral homes have an unmistakable smell of dead flowers and look dreary. Their facility smelled soo nice, felt soo living, had great lighting and felt like you were celebrating someone’s life instead of their death. They had private office rooms for us to use when we needed a break, and even their bathrooms were nice.

The Digitals/ Presentation:
They had the EASIEST set up for music and a slide show. They had Bluetooth connection for music which was super easy to use. And best of all, to upload pictures for a slide show, all you have to do is upload pictures to a link. No flash drive, no HDMI cords. No hassle. It made planning in the wake of a loss as easy as could be.

Overall:
There aren’t enough stars available on Google for me to give this funeral home. They get 100000/10 and I literally could not recommend them enough. Thank you to the entire team for helping put this all together you all are spectacular and may God bless you all for all the amazing work you are doing. “With our love ones leaving us forever is the most difficult reality we have to face. Mrs. Zhao, the owner of Wah Lai, had been there for our family on 3 occasions. Each time had been a reassuring experience; she took care of everything without us having to worry about any details. The many procedures were logistically and legally complex to us. I’m so thankful she knew exactly what to do so that all went smoothly without a hitch. I can’t stress enough how important her kindness and knowledgeable handling of the situations were to us because we weren’t able to think clearly while grieving.I also wish to point out one particular recent incidence where my brother’s headstone was damaged when I went to pay respect to him this past Ching Ming at the cemetery. Because Wah Lai kept such impeccable records and have used a reliable headstone maker for 30 years, the cemetery was gracious enough to work with them to take full monetary responsibility for a new replacement. Raymond, Mrs. Zhao’s son, went out of his way to pursue the case on our behalf and coordinated with all parties involved in a most professional manner. Without his determined efforts, the ending might have been quite different. I am grateful to Raymond at Wah Lai as well as the cemetery for there ethics and professionalism in doing what’s right so that the most visible part of my brother’s burial spot will be restored to its original pristine state.While service is important when we’re at the saddest moments of our lives, having someone who really cares and understands exactly what you’re going through, and would sincerely do all they can to make things right for you is invaluable. For us, even when things didn’t go right, they were still there to help us so that we can be completely at peace. I’m truly grateful to Wah Lai for all they have done for me and my family.”
