One person at the service window with 30 people on line. Does this sum it up?

This used to be a reasonably decent station - lately it is an absolute nightmare. Maybe it's related to that De Joy guy? One can only guess, but everything that could be wrong with a post office is wrong here. Incredible understaffing (more often than not, only one retail window open), packages that don't get delivered or go missing (two for me in the last two weeks alone!), managers who can't be reached, no one picking up the phone etc etc.The sad part is that I suspect PO employees here think being overworked and undervalued gives them the right to deliver substandard service. I can understand that but it also means the PO will lose business due to their inaction/incompetence, which then gives the likes of DeJoy a reason to cut MORE funding and fire MORE people. It's a vicious circle. I get why they might not care, but they're also showing up for work every day and have an obligation to try a little harder than anyone at this station seems able to do. They'd be better off staging walkouts or protests. Taking it out on customers isn't going to get them anywhere, not in the long run.

This looks like a post office from the dark ages. There are no automated machines so even if you need to get a stamp you need to wait on line and the line is always long, regardless of the time of the day. I waited on line for over an hour, and had to keep running out to put money in the meter, otherwise I would get a ticket. It's very hard to find parking around the area too. There is no one in sight to ask a question. The manager should make an appearance to make sure everything is running correctly, especially when the line is almost to the back door! They should install some automated machines for shipping and stamps like other efficient post offices. It's insane to have to get on a line for a stamp!!!I asked for a book a domestic stamps and they only had a roll on 100 stamps for $84 and a card of childish stamps with a bear or tiger on it. What kind of post office is this? They must get the leftovers of stamps from other post offices that are not selling, or the manager is not doing his job in ordering simple regular stamps!!! Awful Place!

Took an appointment for passport and reached well ahead of time. But there was only 1 queue for everything - so had to stand in the queue for around half an hour. Fortunately I carried a photo with me (even though the passport processing website mentioned that this USPS has photo facility - I seriously doubt that ).Only plus point was that the lady at the counter was very professional and fast and efficient. So giving a 3-start just because of this lady at the counter - otherwise I agree with the other posters - v long lines and only 1 line most of the time

Just like 893 Broadway the people here are rude the place is not clean boxes sold out everywhere then the lady up front says oh we can't ship it cause it's in the wrong box and then she makes us go in a line of 10 different people because one person is holding the everyone up. Post offices will never get better ever. At least they shipped my package thats one thing theycan do for you.

It is a shame. The building is beautiful. But the staffing falls short. A dropbox is necessary at this location for prelabeled packages. I have not been to a location of this size that has been unable to integrate this into its infrastructure. This would greatly alleviate the long lines and lessen the burden on the staff hopefully improving their poor attitudes. A self-scan kiosk would be of even greater use. I do hope they find a way to add these features. Why it's not improved or evolved like other usps locations is baffling.

if i can give negative stars i would, rudest customer service ever! i showed up with boxes of pre paid packages and they turned me down saying theres a limit, ive been going to other post office and there is no such thing, scanning those labels is not a hard job to do people! if people would just do their job without being lazy and rude .

15 minutes to get a few stamps. The line is horrendously long. Speed to service is at snail's pace. Staff was nice and courteous.

The people that this particular Post Office has working behind the counter are so unbelievably rude, they are often on their phone, act as if you’re disturbing them on their break when you approach them, they hardly ever look up at you, make eye contact or engage with you, and they certainly never thank you at the end of your transaction…If you dare ask the person behind the counter any questions about your lost or undelivered packages they are either dismissive or confrontational or a combination of both. The line leading up to the counter is often epically long, sometimes reaching far back to the end of the lobby and snaking around room. The people working behind the counter don’t act with any sense of urgency to take care of the customers on the line in a quick and efficient manner, they slowly sashay around their work stations rolling their eyes, checking their phones, making comments amongst themselves about tired they are, how rude the customers are, how they hate their jobs...The place is an absolute embarrassing disaster.
