“I don’t typically have an opinion on pharmacies, but Terry’s Drugs in Bloomfield is my pharmacy. I keep their number filed with that of any doctors I may receive care from.
Like the town of Bloomfield, Terry’s looks like a small town pharmacy which would make most people pass it by assuming they have a limited staff, limited inventory and high prices as the can’t get discounts like big chains (I.e., CVS, Walgreens, etc.). None of the above is accurate.
They very rarely don’t have an Rx in stock and if so, they typically have it next day. I’ve had to wait a week at CVS or Walgreens. They have as many people working as a chain store but the entire staff is much more efficient than most, and even with new scripts, I rarely wait more that 5 min. Their prices are comparable if not better than CVS, and they go out of their way to make sure any discounts cards or coupons are applied.
The entire staff is extremely good and always friendly and professional, and the Pharmacist in charge, Joseph “Joe” Gallo is the same. He is also more knowledgeable than most and always makes time to answer any questions. Because he is so kind about answering questions, I find my questions can go beyond the scope of pharmacy and become medical questions. While it’s clear his knowledge is well beyond the expectations of a pharmacist, he is quick to point out he’s not an M.D. but his advice is always solid. He’s also big enough to not BS you and acknowledge if he doesn’t have the answer, but if it’s pharmacy related, he will get it ASAP.
While I don’t use the service, they are also happy to deliver which is a great service reminiscent of pharmacies many decades ago.
I can’t speak to other Terry’s I’ve seen, but these guys are just fantastic.
Update: Forget most of what I said. In Joe is back! I’m changing this back to a 5!
2025 new ownership has changed this to my OLD Pharmacy. The new deal meant needing to order many meds that were always available, receiving a few medications not completely filled (shorted), thankfully the Pharmacy Tech’s and staff are predominantly unchanged, and they are still amazing.”

“I really like the pharmacist here, he is so friendly and can make jokes and lighten the mood. Also gives good advice. They tend to cost way less than CVS and always have my prescription ready on time with reminders, too. They don’t need you to find the lowest price card online cause they find it for you! Appreciate the extra attention!”
