“Although I have emphathy for the inconvenience & frustration for lack of consistency w/store hours...the owner has been sick, in the hospital & recouping from a broken foot! Also, the loss of her sweetmother (reg customers know who I'm speaking of), & another very unexpected death in the family, all in the past year +/- have been hard for her. Dare I suggest you call 1st, just to verify her open hours. Just a thought. I'm just saying...?”

“I had an item that I needed to return and eventhough their sales are final the manager in the store let me exchange and I ended up spending more bc I loved her massive safety pin earrings. I will be back bc this really stylish man convinced my girlfriend to buy some heels”

“As a basic used goods thrift shop, Upper EastSide offers basic essentials with a decently sized inventory. There is a good amount of variety in inventory including apparel, home decor, entertainment, and miscellaneous items, although nothing that interesting really stood out to me. That said, prices are quite fair compared to some other thrift shops throughout the area.Inside, walking space is tight and the floor is a little messy. It did feel a little uninviting while perusing, though, as the store was completely silent without any ambiance whatsoever as not even background music played to fill that void.”

“I continue to be amazed at the unique pieces of clothing and jewelry, and the incredibly reasonable prices. I bring friends and family visiting NYC here, and recommend to anyone visiting, or looking for high quality and excellent brands. All for a great cause. Body positive staff—no judgment! ❤️”

“Stumbled upon this shop as I was gallery hopping - what a great find! Prices were great and if I lived in the City I would be shopping here regularly for art and furniture. Will be back on my next trip to NYC!”

“I love this place. Especially for sawing! It has multiple fabrics and yarn.. looots of books and other items you would want to find to create art out of! Every time I come there is something new and the best - you can take as much as you want and it’s free of charge. One negative thing - your time there is limited. You cannot stay as long as you please and usually are given about an hour. After your time is up you might get kicked out for real for real”

“This place is absolutely incredible. I think I could spend 8 hours in here and not see everything. I was shocked at how big the space is, what a hidden treasure. I went in on a Saturday and it was a little busy but that's normal. The gentlemen working were two of the nicest guys I have ever met, which makes me want to shop here all the time. They were so kind with every customer. Once it was my turn, not only did one of the gentlemen wrap each one of my purchases in paper then boxed them, but when I got home I realized he also removed the tags, saving me that chore. I will be back - often.”

“I have been emailing with manager Lisa about donating some household items, and can't overstate what a pleasure it is to deal with her. She is responsive, kind, accommodating, and so helpful. I wish all businesses and organizations could be like her. I will look forward to stopping in the store next time I am in the area.”

“Can’t think of a nicer guy in a business like this. The owner Nick helped me out tremendously for a bunch of things I needed and kept recommending more to really complete my trip. Prices are incredibly fair and if you talk to Nick you’ll get a couple cool stories from him as well. I’ve already recommended this store to friends and family who I’ll most likely join if they head over here. I highly recommend anyone looking to go to a thrift store to come here first before anywhere else.”

“I‘ve been here today in the afternoon, had the best experience in here! amazing store, very nice and friendly shop owner as well as his friend that accompanied him. very great selection of jackets, jeans, y2k sweaters, just about everything you need for a vintage store. loved it and fully recommend it!”

“I have no idea why I didn't review this shop earlier. Today is my third time and every time I have walked out with some awesome vintage stuff. Today I picked up a reversible caped coat with leopard print on one side and orange on the other $50. No label but this is a coat that put a smile on my face. It's a statement coat but I'll wear it all winter. A lovely gown for my nephew's wedding for $15, a very large hand crocheted blanket and a lovingly washed quilt to go over it - each for $20. A copper bar server for $10 and a vintage clothesline pin holder in a fun and funky mix of salvaged cloth absolutely made my day. Top it all off with with the nicest people running it. This is one of the best church thrifts on the East Coast.”

“Love this place. Lots of super-cheap clothes. My advice on how to shop is to make three or four rounds just to make sure you didn't miss anything. Friendly staff, good vibes here. Also, I thought it worth adding that I've been to plenty of bigger, chain resale shops in NY and NJ like Unique, 2nd Ave Thrift, and this place is better. It's clean, rotates stock, and is far more pleasant.”

“We had several large furniture pieces we wanted to donate to ReStore. When we sent photos the staff replied very quickly and accepted all the items.Lucas and Gus arrived on time on the day we scheduled and not only took all the items listed, but other things we forgot to list. They were very professional and helpful. We highly recommend ReStore and their professionals. So much so, that we have contacted them again so we can donate more items to help support the work of ReStore and Habitat for Humanity!”

“For secondhand clothing, the UWS is replete with stellar options {Housing Works on W 74th, Housing Works on W 96th, Unique Boutique on W 83rd, St Francis Thrift Store on W 96th = all excellent options}. UES has great thrift options too: Unique Boutique on E 94th, Housing Works on E 90th, Goodwill NYNJ on E 88th, & there’s another one in East Harlem}. Once you step in and see how current and high quality the pieces they have are, and for such bargain prices (plenty of great pieces between $5 - $20), you’ll basically never shop new again. It’ll change the way you shop in nyc.Housing Works on 74th & Columbus —this one in particular has some terrific designer fashion finds; it also has a very cool home-wear section and some collectible pieces that are sold off on an auction basis. It’s very very cool. You can find some really stellar finds at excellent prices at both of the Unique Boutiques on UWS and UES.”

“this a really good spot to buy clothes, as well as donate. the only negative thing i have to say is that their store times are so bothersome. i have to essentially plan my entire day around making I’ll have enough time to go since they close early sometimes.”

“This shop is a hidden gem!! I went to four other thrift stores before stumbling into this gold mine! I bought a beautiful pair of lamps, plus two sets of side tables I didn't know I was looking for until I saw them! They have high quality merchandise that is reasonably priced! The energy was sweet and welcoming! I love it there!”
