“Although I have emphathy for the inconvenience & frustration for lack of consistency w/store hours...the owner has been sick, in the hospital & recouping from a broken foot! Also, the loss of her sweetmother (reg customers know who I'm speaking of), & another very unexpected death in the family, all in the past year +/- have been hard for her. Dare I suggest you call 1st, just to verify her open hours. Just a thought. I'm just saying...?”

“Fantastic place for gifts many of which are locally made. Violet has something for almost everyone and she and her staff are awesome. Children’s books and cute little cars, candles, soaps, jewelry, kids games, women made products, stuffies, hats, socks, stickers, keychains. My favorite small business to support.”

“We only had a couple minutes, but this place is so well curated that it didn't matter! Scored a fantastic Isaac Mizrahi coat for my son and a sweet black United Colors of Benetton sweatshirt just as they were closing!”

“I was looking for an original vintage license plate and I found a man who sold them. He was really nice and explained us the story of the license plates.

If you want a license plate as a souvenir make sure to visit the Bazaar.”

“First time check, but this will be my must-go vintage/consignment shop in UPE.
I’ve been touring all these other shops but this place is a GEM!

I will definitely check again, after screening online store too”

“Well, for $120 my daughter and girlfriend got a black skirt, a pair of silver high heels, a fluffy red jacket, a sequined black party dress, and a red sport coat. They loved it. Like any other used clothing store you have to hunt and search.”

“Unbelievable craftsmanship and even better customer service!! I ordered 8 light fixtures from Blueprint Lighting back in Feb. Two of the light fixtures were 2 weeks behind awaiting glass. I was contacted by the owner Kelly and she communicated with me the entire process until I received the last remaining light fixtures. The quality of blueprint really shows and I couldn’t be happier!”

“I drove from nyc to this store because my friends raved about the treasures here and I ended up leaving with 18 items. The prices I got for brands like Alexander wang, Miu Miu, Alice & Olivia, Ferragamo, and there’s so much Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada, truly insane!!!! I compared what I purchased to eBay and some items were 80% less (not exaggerating) than online secondhand stores. I almost don’t want to write this review because it’s my secret weapon store now. I will be going every month or two and I don’t even think I need to shop anywhere else as they have literally everything to make an anmazing outfit. I think the absolute best part is that the girls working the store turn into personal stylists who will help you assemble the perfect outfit for any occasion. I don’t know, I’m just truly blown away!!!! The only reason I’m writing this review is because they are so kind and they deserve the credit but dang, what a hidden treasure!!! I’ll write a second review with photos of everything I got.”

“Amazing experience at Margot’s consignment. The owners were lovely and helped me pick out amazing pieces. Such a good selection of vintage and designer clothes and shoes. 10/10 recommend.”

“I absolutely love this consignment shop! Every visit feels like a little treasure hunt—there’s always something unique, stylish, and in great condition waiting to be discovered. The owner is warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about what she does, which makes the shopping experience even better.

What really sets this place apart, though, is its heart. A portion of the profits goes directly to a charitable cause, so every purchase feels meaningful. It’s wonderful to know that shopping sustainably here not only gives great items a second life but also helps support the community.

If you're looking for quality finds and a business that truly gives back, this shop is a must-visit!”

“I have been wanting to visit this thrift store.....and WOW! It's a small train depot...very quaint and the prices are extremely reasonable for name brands. Proceeds go to the local schools. Let's assist them in their humble goal! Cannot wait to go back!!!”

“stray is easily my favorite part of sunnyside, the shop is small and narrow but jam packed with an amazing selection of really well curated records. i’ve had some amazing finds from husker du to yellow magic orchestra.

however, one of the greatest parts of the shop is dan the owner, being able to chat about music and the records you picked out and put you onto new stuff makes this shop one of the most accepting, helpful, and welcoming shops i know of. makes me sad im moving out of queens, cant recommend it enough!”

“We bought 3 pieces a ring a watch and a garnet broach
No pressure just a lovely experience compared to the majority of the jewellers in New York
Highly recommend and worth a visit even though you may be just window shopping
Thank you Guys”

“this location gets a lot of NWT sample sale leftovers, which can be a good thing but often oversaturates inventory. their prices are very hit and miss, but this is one of the better and larger housing works locations”

“A must-stop for vintage lovers in the NYC/Astoria area!

Loveday also has an incredible selection of jewelry and accessories.

Plus, the owner is a true local that you can talk to about anything from fashion to the best brunch spot to news of the day.”

“I came into the store on a Saturday looking for a 100% camel wool/cashmere coat and found one for $520. I noticed some wear and tear on it though and gently asked if it could be discounted a bit. The employee (Hermann, hope I'm spelling it right) kindly re-priced it at $450 but offered to call the coat's original seller to negotiate a lower price (and would call me back in a day or so). I almost lost hope when I didn't hear back for a few days but Hermann encouraged me to come back to the store and after calling the seller multiple times, he was able to offer a re-price for $270! I was extremely shocked with the unexpected steep discount and am very grateful for Hermann's professionalism, patience and care with my inquiry for days. Will definitely revisit this store again! ?”

“Love this cute new shop. As a plus size person, it is hard to find true vintage, but they have a huge selection - and best of all, the owner doesn't mark it up just because it's larger, like some places do. She also said she has a ton in storage, so if there's anything I am looking for, I can let her know next time I am stopping by and she'll grab some things. Made me feel special! Also you gotta check out the radio store next door.”

“so much awesome inventory - i personally love their embellished blazers, dresses and shoes collections. prices are comparable to sample sale pricing (50-70% off retail) and they have a lot of new with tags items. be prepared to dig - there is a TON spanning 2 levels!”

“I went to this store yesterday evening. The cashier was very nice and friendly during my visit and to all other customers. I made a bit of a splurge on a pair of gloves that definitely wouldn’t have happened if the customer service wasn’t exceptional ? I’ll be back again soon.”

“The customer service here is really what makes this Salvation Army worth checking out! The gentlemen who work at the register know how to liven up the room and looks out for their customers. The customer service here will surely remind you of the importance of community. I gave this review 4 stars because the prices for clothes could be better. There were no more blue tags left for the 99 cents discount deal.”

“Secondhand shopping is my favorite thing to do; I categorically do not wear factory-new clothes, outside of intimates. The West Village Housing Works is, IMO, the best secondhand store in New York City. I have gotten so many treasures from here over the years, and every time I pop in, I see something that tempts me.

What I enjoy about this Housing Works is that it's curated. This is not the kind of hard labor thrift shopping, where you can find a $25 designer item after sorting through 20 stained things. The price point is higher than cavernous thrift stores packed with merchandise, because the staff and volunteers do the labor of selecting things that are stain-free and not too worn.

My favorite designer is Milly, and I almost always see something Milly any time I go in.

Most importantly, Emmy and the staff at Housing Works are lovely; they clearly really enjoy their jobs, and the vibes in the store are so nice. There have been multiple times that I've been in the store and have seen customers chatting with one another or encouraging each other to buy the fabulous thing they're trying on. It's a treat to shop in an environment where other people start conversations with you, and there's a shared love of a very good find.”

“I first visited this shop many years ago, back when the store was much smaller. The items aren’t cheap, but knowing that all the proceeds go to this charity made perfect sense—it really opened my eyes!

Visiting again after all these years brought back so many wonderful memories. Such a lovely experience, and I’ll definitely be back again!”

“Incredible selection of pieces ranging from 50-100 years old, a cute old pup hanging in the front, and a very friendly owner, Melissa, who has been running the store for 20 years! Definitely worth stopping in if you’re looking for something special.”

“Hollywood Heros has two things going for it. 1) An amazing, incredible selection of toys, new and vintage. 2) The nicest owners possible. My 12 y.o. son is a huge Star Wars collector, and he discovered HH on Yelp about. year ago. We've gone maybe a dozen times now even though it's an hour round trip. We often find rare and impossible to get items here and if it's not on the shelves, it's probably in their basement, so just ask. We became friendly with Jordan and Val on our trips there, and Jordan has been especially gracious. He always has time to talk, answer questions, and be friendly. Even when we come to just window shop, we still have great talks. Recently my son was looking for an ARC-170 gunship, and Jordan and Val had just gotten one in that had missing parts, and they gave it to my son as a thank you for being a loyal customer. It made my son's month. The store is a block from the central shopping district, so when we go we get bagels or Korean chicken and make a day out of it, or go the few blocks to Trader Joes. I know a Trader Joes isn't a selling point for a store specifically, but as a parent of someone who loves shopping here it's nice to have a cute town that can be part of the experience.”
