I had an unpleasant experience at this post office. When I visited, it was very quiet, with only a few other customers inside. A young female clerk was at the counter, and I brought several small packages—all with printed labels attached, so they just needed to be scanned.
However, she told me she could only scan five of the packages and that I had to leave the rest behind, saying it was “policy.” I have shipped many items before, but I’ve never encountered this. I explained that I needed receipts for all of my packages, but she refused to scan them or offer any solution.
I ended up going to another post office, where all of my packages were scanned without any problem, and I was able to get the receipts I needed.

Today, my mom visited to send an envelope and had placed something inside. She later returned to retrieve it, but the black woman at the counter—who had her hair in a bun—was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was yelling the entire time, which made the situation unnecessarily stressful. This isn’t the first time she’s been unpleasant, and frankly, someone with that attitude should not be working in customer service—especially when there’s nothing being sold, just basic assistance. It’s no surprise the location has such a low rating (2.1 stars). Management should really reconsider who they have representing their business
She should get better training or not work with people at all stay at home better

I just moved to this town a little over a year ago. I’ve been told by some neighbors that it’s a rude staff and I should avoid going to our post office try tenafly. I figured I’d give it a try and see for myself. I was happy to see such a clean and homey feeling post office. I walked in and both ladies said good morning and I was assisted by Dominique. As I filled out my address change I would hear people demanding supplies . They explained the supplies were in the retail section. The customer began to yell at them and I interjected. I inquired if they would ask Kings why they needed to purchase groceries. The customer looked confused. I said think about it everything is for sale because it’s a business. These ladies are here trying to do their jobs and not be harassed. I couldn’t imagine having to experience such scrutiny for doing my job. I commend the staff for remaining positive and moving on with their day. I’m sure we’ve all had good days and bad ones. I just walk in with respect and expect the same given to me. I wanted to share my experience of me coming to get my own experience of this office. I will return again

For almost three decades I used this office, and I loved it everyone who worked there with dedication and good manners, but unfortunately it is not the case anymore. In every post office when you send a certified letter, they attach the green slip giving you back the stamped part, not here, they refuse to do it. It's a shame the rudeness of the desk people. If you need a post office, go to Demarest or Tenafly, they still do the certified letters as usual, and they have good manners.

I will give MY office a 5 star rating. Not only do customers walk IN prepared for debates but racial battles as well. We are forced to be the “black woman” opposed to the employee that showed up to work on time and prepared to work. The consistency in these complaints are “race”, “I only wanted tape”, and “what I wanted done isn’t hard”. Customers have to understand we are EMPLOYEES and have to SELL the items we have in the RETAIL section. Just because you feel tracking a package isn’t hard to do, does NOT mean we have the access to see exactly what your issue is. We do NOT have access to your personal information the “Boss” does. Coming in at 8:30 and the boss isn’t available is NOT a personal attack on you. Do understand we get it. We see and hear it all the time. We are RETAIL CLERKS and do not handle customer complaints. We can’t defuse and or solve your issues so we call for the person that can. I don’t understand why that’s so offensive to get to the exact person that can help you. We sell rolls and pieces of tape that’s how revenue is generated. We are NOT paid off taxes and do NOT receive commission. So there’s no gain or loss for us directly by suggesting you purchase what YOU NEED to ensure your package make it safely and securely. Having a Ground label does NOT mean free priority and express mail packaging. Yes we could ignore it to appease you BUT it will be sent back to you and then what? You’ll come ask us why it happened. Imagine that 1000 times a day. You can NOT walk into an office and want help and refuse help because it’s not the solution you felt was best. Unfortunately tape and boxes aren’t free. I do love and appreciation my customers that bake, talk, gift and are courteous to me. That see me as more than the black lady not giving into their demands. Imagine coming in with the thought of todays a new day. I smile and say good morning to everyone. Watched some children grow up. Help them address their letters and have personal relationships. But all because I follow policy I am the “black lady that needs therapy”. I pray people breathe and understand that just like you follow policies at work so will we.

Just horrible.
My package was never delivered so I went into the office to check on it. This black lady at the front, who was just on her phone watching videos, asked me to step aside so her “boss” can help me. The boss doesn’t show up and I am told to wait until her boss is ready to see me, I’m waiting and waiting and I ask her when she is going to help me and she said her boss cannot stop everything and come to help me if I have a problem I can just leave then. Problem Is that these workers are getting paid and they are not doing their job. It’s like almost normal for them to just be on their phones and watch videos all day and for customer to just wait around for when they’re ready to see them. Plus they are sooooooo rude. Why does she need her boss to track a package? She is just literally sitting there laughing watching videos on her phone. Don’t come here. So ridiculous

The name of the horrific worker mentioned in all the reviews is DOMINIQUE.
I have NEVER encountered such sheer incompetence and rudeness as I did when dealing with Dominique. From the moment I stepped into the post office, it was evident that professionalism and basic decency were foreign concepts to this individual. Her incapability was astonishing; she bungled simple tasks with an impressive consistency that bordered on deliberate sabotage. Her shockingly dismissive and hostile attitude made it one of the worst human to human experiences I’ve ever experienced.
Dominique seemed to take sick pleasure in belittling and berating me, as if it were a personal vendetta. I was speechless. All for asking if there was some tape I could use. Her aggressive behavior left me feeling not only confused but genuinely concerned for the well-being of other patrons. It's clear that Dominique is in dire need of retraining or perhaps a change in career altogether. Her utter disregard for basic customer service standards is not only unprofessional but downright appalling.
I returned later to speak to the postmaster and she was kind and understanding, apologizing on behalf of Dominique. I was told I was the third victim of the day and that she is a chronic repeat offender (as evident in all the other reviews). The other workers have always been kind, but Dominique seems unhinged and genuinely needs therapy.
If you are ever unfortunate enough to encounter Dominique, just know that it’s not you, it’s her. USPS, please consider retraining her in basic human decency or altogether let her go. She is tainting your business image.

So rude. Just rude. I visited this usps branch with the item I wanted to return, and the return label usps eligible. When I show the return label to one worker, he said I can not use any box or bag of usps and I have to buy the box. Also, one worker said I have to buy the Scotch tape. Both workers' manor were horrible. They looked like they were enjoying to trick and make fun of their customers. Just horrible.

I've been in Tenafly for over 12 years, and I use USPS services almost on weekly basis. The staff have been always helpful, respectful and very professional. Seems like only folks who had a less than great experience, bother to leave a rating, and just stick a single star for no clear reason.

Extremely rude workers. The meaning of customer service or courtesy has not been part of their training. I'll drive to other towns before entering this post office again. Pathetic.

Horrible customer service. The two attendants serving customers act like they know everything and everyone else is wrong. And if you try to show that they are not actually correct, they got nasty and decided they were not going to service me. All because she claims I have a bad attitude and that for showing her that she might not be correct. Does she have the authority to not do her job and deny service because she does not like a customer? Will skip this station as long as these 2 are there.
