“I had gone there the other day to switch over from a bank i’ve been using for 5-7 years to this one. i’ve heard great reviews about oceanfirst. i called and one of the tellers was able to assist me in just the general basics of what i needed to do/what to bring to make this a smooth transition. quick conversation but still very kind and professional. i got there later on in the day & everyone was super friendly. the teller i worked with for the hour was Joseph and he was great. he answered all my questions and was extremely patient. i felt that i was bothering him with all my questions but he was able to help me clearly understand that transitioning process from moving accounts to even different features the bank had to offer. he listened to my concerns and what i wanted from this bank & how i wanted to proceed. i genuinely had a great experience and everyone was personable. i appreciate the great customer service from this bank in addition to the fact that i was able to confidently walk out of that bank knowing that everything was in good hands. hands down, i would recommend anyone going to this bank!!”

“This is a great banking service to have right on the campus. There is an ATM here but perhaps only for account holders. The fees are reasonable but working hours are limited. As the parent of a student I can vouch for credit unions as providing better services than the major banks and unfortunately are not well known enough due to limited marketing budgets.”

“While this isn't your standard bank where you can run inside to use an ATM, they have one outside and are committed to hands-on communication with their customers. I came to this bank, not for my own personal yse, but for a family member. There weren't many people when we came mid day, but we were greeted by Alexander upon arrival and only needed to wait a few minutes to be helped.What I witnessed in that short time I was there was the staff being so kind and helpful to one another. You can tell theirs no hostility in the workplace. Every customer that arrived after us was greeted by Alexander (who it is clear is a very personal person), but they also were proud to say hello as if they were all friends. This shows that they know their customers well.He also acknowledged out birthdays when looking at OUR IDs and engaged us in conversation about our celebrations.They quickly took care of all of my family members' needs and were very thorough with taking care of everything, so we didn't have to come back. “This Bank is like the days of Old when the tellers & other at the bank knew each customer by name. They dontbhave many branches, only in NJ. They have truly personalized services, & go far out of there way to keep there customers comming back. Be they small but they don't lack any of what the big boys have ,ATM Checking, Savings, Money Market, Personel loans & Business loans& lastly Safe Deposit boxes. I have a TD bank about 200yds from my home, but I will stay with Unity, so there not open late every day,including weekends. Your just a number there like all bug banks.”

“Today was my daughter's last day of school and in a ditch effort to purchase a gift for my her teacher i found myself unable to complete an important purchase because of an issues with ATM card. After several failed attempts to resolve the issues on my own I franticly called the Scotch Plains Location and had the pleasant experience of speaking with the Branch Manager Karina who took her time and a worked diligently with me to resolve the issues. The staff were very professional and took the time Even after banking hour to help me resolve my issues. both Haydee and Avelina were patient and made sure the everything was working. correctly before i left. Having a bank manager Karina tell me that the bank was closed now but advised me to still come in because she would wait for me was something I will never forget. “I've been going to this bank for almost a year now, the staff are the best. Especially Karin and Mike. But their "manager" Nancy seems to be useless. She is either sitting in her office or she'll come out when there is a line, but don't be deceived.. it's not to help with the line it's to question why people aren't there helping customers, only to then receed back into her office. I've literally never seen her help a customer, let alone regard her staff in a kind manner, and I've been in there probably over 30 times. She's one of those "management people" who don't seem to contribute and just cause stress for the staff. The only reason I'm giving 5 stars is because the staff are otherwise stellar in all aspects. Nancy is just awful.”
