“All I can say is WOW! Absolutely phenomenal this store is beautiful & inviting on all levels.
The sales associate (TARA) she was incredible & her expertise & her welcoming nature. It was my very first time visiting the store on Saturday March 15th in the evening around 6ish. The crowd was busy but (TARA) made everyone feel so welcome even when she was busy she kept her composure & with a great beautiful smile on her face she took care of everyone there. I can talk on & on about this fantastic place & the customer service is top tier.
I will absolutely return back!!

“Biggie's is great! The owners are super lovely and run it themselves. Their dog, Biggie, is super cute. Often there's people playing chess outside- it's pretty rad.
Inside is a vintage lovers paradise, or more specifically, a vintage smokers dream. They specialize in refurbishing old lighters, ash trays, and smoking sets. Trust me, they're awesome. If you're not a smoker, they have old magazines, game sets, and old-style soda. If you'd like to become a smoker but are scared, they have candy cigarettes. Sick!
Anyway, I like to pop by whenever I'm in the neighborhood. You should pop in, too.”

“Ray is an East Village celebrity. Originally from Iran, Ray jumped overboard a Navy ship to swim away to a new life in the United States. He started the shop in the 70s and has been around ever since. Even when Ray recently sustained an assault, he went right back to work. This institution offers various soft serve, fries, fried Oreos, hotdogs, chili dogs, egg creams, onion rings. Any number of fried foods one might eat after a drunken soirée. Someone commented on his Instagram page, “no one has seen me drunker than this man.” Most things are 7-10 dollars, though there are a few things that are more expensive, like 16 dollars or so. Pretty sure Ray is cash only. Ray still works the spot. He’s about to turn 91. If you want to see him, get on with it. New York changes all the time. One day you might show up, and Ray will be gone. Don’t miss your chance to experience this icon.”

“We walked upon this store before they were officially opened and they welcomed us like we were family. We have been back since and the treatment continues to maintain. “A friend brought me here for my first time in NYC. Really nice boutique chocolate shop that specializing in chocolate from Japan. They infuse all sorts of flavors and the one I tried was Oolong- it was delicious and creamy. The staff were friendly and they had samples out which was nice. It’s a small, very straightforward niche kind of place if you like gourmet chocolate. It is pricier but definitely worth it if you like high quality made chocolates.”
“The staff here is really friendly, polite and helpful. I went there as I needed a personalized piñata. The piñata they made was beautiful my kid loved it. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be going back.”

“I had my daughter Olivia's birthday party hosted by Matisse Chocolatier this past weekend and it exceeded my expectations! Matisse was so easy to work with, they were extremely accommodating, and make everything so easy/seamless - totally low lift for me!
Nija and Jessica were delightful, kind, energetic (I could go on and on) and they deserve the biggest shoutout for managing a group of kids with nothing but smiles and warmth.
The kids AND parents loved every minute of it. I got such great feedback that it was different and fun for everyone.

The staff were accommodating and explained products without making it too time consuming or overwhelming. The chocolate taste test was appreciated and I actually ended up getting their Nama Chocolate as well as their chocolate covered chips. These are sinfully good! Pricing is reasonable for high quality treats. Now that Ive tried Royce and had a memorable experience, I will definitely stop by again whenever I go back to Mitsuwa!”
