“This build-a-bear location is exactly the same as other locations, however the one major difference is that they have a lot of the retired/hard to find bears available for purchase at this location. I came and found not only old Pokemon bears, but also hard to find ones from sanrio such as Kuromi or Pompompurin. I didn't stuff them myself, but this is something i'd keep an eye out for if you want to find these bears.”
“Nice 2 floor store with plenty to see and buy. You can take the stairs to the second floor or if stairs aren't for you, there's an elevator.?? There is even a big retro NYC Lego Taxi you can sit in. Pretty cool photo props and ops!
BEWARE: No usable restrooms
A store that sells items for children through adulthood should have a public restroom. It's just common sense, especially since some people spend an hour or more there creating personal LEGO® products.”

“I recently celebrated my birthday in American Girl NYC. I'm a young adult doll collector from Europe and I'd been dreaming of getting the full AG experience since I was 8 years old. It was all I had hoped for!!I went with my best friend and the service at the New York Cafe was brilliant— our server, Christian, was incredibly nice and fun, and made our inner child feel positively spoiled. A true professional! Special thank you to him and Keyshawn for singing happy birthday and making our experience so much better. I had an amazing time and made some lovely memories. “Love book stores which are virtually a relic of the past. A nice place to spend some time browsing titles. I was looking for books for our grandchildren. I noticed it was a draw for some neighborhood seniors as a place to cool off on a hot summer day while reading up on some titles.”
“FAO Schwarz was a nice toy store. It is large and well organized, and the staff is friendly and helpful. We went here for the Jellycat Diner, and I have to say that it was very fun and cool. However, if you want to experience it you need to make a reservation a month or two in advance. Also, there may be a line to get in as we experienced, so just keep that in mind when planning a visit here. A negative is that it can get quite crowded inside, but other than that there isn’t too much to complain about. I would say it is worth a visit if you are in New York and love toy stores, or are especially a fan of Jellycats.”
“This store may not have the largest footprint, but they make excellent use of the space they have. The walls are filled with well-organized displays and eye-catching box sets, and a few larger LEGO builds are showcased throughout the shop. Overall, it’s a fun and worthwhile stop for both locals and visitors.”

“Love to go there - amazing selection - but you have to understand the experience. It contains a HUGE selection of games, and RPG books. Might be the most in NY State outside of the huge Millennium games up in Rochester. I've found items that have been out of print for years, or had small production runs.
BUT...
Stacked in huge shelves that stretch from floor to ceiling. It takes a while to read through everything! With tiny aisles that barely have room for one person to walk down. If you're claustrophobic, be warned!
It's almost all at MSRP. Not a place to get a bargain or a deal, generally (that said, they do have a bargain shelf at the back of the store. Right hand aisle, left side all the way back).”
“Johana was very kind to my child . She asked them questions so she knew what book they were looking for, and she gave them very good choices to choose from. My child was completely comfortable around her. This employee is very nice, and welcoming with her customers.”

“Took my son here for the first time, he has been asking me since he saw their table at NA day event. He’s very into Pokémon cards right now. As we were browsing one of the gentlemen gave him a Halloween pack right away. We bought 3 packs and had a good conversation. As we were about to leave the 2 guys gave my son a whole stack of holographic cards for free. There ended up being a holographic gyrados in that stack of cards and my son has been hoping for that card in every pack he opens, it made his day. Great customer service and highly recommend. Great people. Thank you again!”

“Who doesn't love a bookstore! Thank goodness BN still exists! Otherwise, I would not be able to share my love of books and bookstores with my grandchildren. The best part for all of us (well, for me) is the toy section (telescopes, microscopes, you name it, it's there). The Grands also loved the children's book selections.
I must also mention the staff! They were very helpful and pleasant. In a world where customer service is almost nonexistent, I must give compliments where they are due! Please keep up the good work and great customer service!

“Biggie's is great! The owners are super lovely and run it themselves. Their dog, Biggie, is super cute. Often there's people playing chess outside- it's pretty rad.
Inside is a vintage lovers paradise, or more specifically, a vintage smokers dream. They specialize in refurbishing old lighters, ash trays, and smoking sets. Trust me, they're awesome. If you're not a smoker, they have old magazines, game sets, and old-style soda. If you'd like to become a smoker but are scared, they have candy cigarettes. Sick!
Anyway, I like to pop by whenever I'm in the neighborhood. You should pop in, too.”

“I think this is my third time going to this Build a Bear. I loved it. We arrived a bit too early, so we only waited like 5 minutes outside. The staff was wonderful. The store was clean, and I felt like a child all over again. It wasn't crowded and the cashier was more than patient with me when we arrived at the front to pay. The only reason I removed a star is because the associate told me that they changed the way the certificates are created now. Apparently, we can't add the names anymore. You have to actually write it down afterwards which I didn't like because everything else is written on the birth certificate. So, that was a bummer. But other than that, I loved the experience and I had fun.”

“The absolutely delightful store manager Barbara, and her staff provided me with the utmost in customer service. I had an issue where 2 of the items I purchased for my godson were ringing up incorrectly. I didn't want to tell him no after he chose what he wanted and they rang up for way more than what I expected. So I bit the bullet especially since it was for my godson after all. But I definitely left with an underlying feeling of sticker shock. I came back for a different purchase the next day and the employee at the counter this time immediately knew something was wrong with the prices I had paid yesterday and took me downstairs to speak to the store manager. Barbara was just fantastic, she must have spent about half an hour looking into the issue and assisting me. She refunded me for the incorrect pricing, was extremely apologetic, and overall was just so professional and kind. She made it such a pleasant transaction that I purchased even more items and left the store in such a great mood. This is the kind of service that is so rare to receive these days, and I want to commend Barbara and her staff for really going the extra mile to correct the situation and make it an absolutely wonderful shopping experience at their store. Although I'm not always in the area, I will definitely go out of my way to shop at and support this location going forward. If only every store provided customer service like this! Thank you so much once again Barbara and team!”
