Whether you’re grabbing something reliable for weekly Kiddush, something nicer for Yom Tov, or a real kavod’dige bottle for a chasan, you’ll find it here — and you won’t feel like you’re guessing. What really makes it though is the staff. Real experts, real mentshen. They actually listen to what you want (“smooth,” “dry,” “not too sweet,” “I need a gift that won’t embarrass me,” etc.) and they guide you to the right thing בלי שטויות. Plus, they’re friendly and have that good humor that makes the whole experience feel heimish, not stiff. Bottom line: The Wine Cave is the kind of place you recommend to friends and then regret a little… because you want it to stay your secret spot. “Five Bright Stars for Corkscrew! Luckily for us customers, Corkscrew’s wine selection is much more inspired than their namesake (imagine a beer shop called Bottle Opener). I first stopped in rather inadvertently on my way to buy a slice of pie with my dear girlfriend. Once inside, I was greeted by not only some of my known favorite wines, but plenty that were new to me as well. Each offering came paired with its own unique description and pairing notes. The staff on shift that day struck the perfect balance of attentive and casual. Somehow, he managed to inform us of their regular events and beautiful backyard space. So many reasons to go back.
