Doctors and nurses barely respond. I understand they’re busy but they are just not responsive enough. All equipment are old and everything takes time. The people are good but the system is broken.

I was very impressed with this hospital. My mom had surgery and was on 4 west. She had some complications and was attended to promptly. When I had concerns the staff addressed them appropriately. Everyone was compassionate and professional. From the techs to the nurses to respiratory to housekeeping as well as the doctors and PAs- they all were warm and attentive. She was very happy with her care and so am I.

The care of the patient and respect and courtesy to their family members are important. I believe that one way to display yourself in a work environment is to speak in a professional manner and understand a situation before acting erratic. We were made aware that visiting hours are 8am-7pm. My mom was recently admitted to the ICU after experiencing a stroke then having difficulty with her right side. My mom’s nurse for that day was Lauren- who is wonderful. Due to mom’s disability, Lauren told my sister to stay until mom’s food arrived to make sure it was chopped up and edible. My sister was rushed out at 7:04pm by some secretary named Julianne Ares. Her tone was inappropriate and condescending. I think employee training should include a customer service and public speaking course. This was very disappointing

Woulda given them 5stars but my nurse, he didn't put any fluids in my IV and I was feeling dehydrated. The staff were very caring and I got in quick, rather surprising. I appreciate the help. I guess it's tough when there's no rooms available and its overcrowded. I am giving a better rating for better Care ?

Sent here from urgent care for a cat scan. As close to zero parking as you can get, I’m walking in in pain but have to stop to get searched by security, stood in line waiting to get checked in for a half hour, got vitals taken and then had to sit for another 2 hours, asked about how much longer it would be and was told there was no way of knowing. I told them I was going to a different hospital and was told that it was a good idea. Never again

Worst experience ever. The ER was very care less. We were in the hallway for 24hrs. Next day they have us room for 4 hours. My husband was not asked for lunch or dinner. I had to step out to pick up kids and he was hungry all time. Even after all this worst service the bill will be $$$$$$$$$

So, I can't take any pictures cause all the nurses and workers would look at me and start question me. The Information Desk is telling visitors to wear mask at all time. But half of workers and nurses, that I see, are either not wearing the mask or warming up their chins with it

Today I had an appointment for an MRI. I was told to go to outpatient services. I went to the registration desk to sign in. I was told to sign in on a list. After an hour I checked the list and saw that my name was crossed off. I was told that I needed to go to a different area. I was never called and informed that I was in the wrong area and was pointed to another area. This was my first time at outpatient services. No apology for crossing me off the list and not directing me to the correct area. While in the MRI area, the person registering people for the test had a number of people entering the area. She provided information to the customers/patients by asking them what test they were getting. She then happily directed them to the correct area. The representatives at registration for X-rays CT scan, etc. should be trained in customer service.I've been in other outpatient facilities and never had an issue.

What a waste of land spaceHow hard is it to call your patients to say appointments are canceled due to weather? Are the people who work there braindead?

They make excuses as far as care is concern. There are nurses up here that are excellent but on the whole this place SUCKS. You won't get timely info. You will be put on faulty equipment and you most certainly WILL be ignored if you complain. They try to cover it with sending in people that have nothing to do with the issues for the "smokescreen " when they are obviously to damn LAZY to get an answer. I've been here long enough to know.I know now why they call it JFK....you'd rather be shot in the head than come back here!!!I have an advocate for a few issues. Ever since I have done that , BTW I'm on the 5th floor, the nursing staff has made a point of neglecting, ignoring and just down right LIE about what's has happened. As I sit here typing this I'm trying to convince myself they won't find a way to make my situation lethal before I awake in the morning.By the way, just found out this place offers assisted AND non assisted suicide

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE HERE. My brother was admitted at 4pm to the pediatric ER by an ambulance & waited almost 2 hours to be put in a room. (He fell down a flight of stairs) Then when a room was available he waited 2.5 hours just to see a doctor! (we were told there’s only one dr!!) Not one nurse introduced themself to us.All you hear staff talk about is how their co workers called out or how they shouldn’t even be there. This hospital is definitely understaffed and overworked. You can tell the nurses working here are not satisfied with their job. Mind you this is the experience I had with PEDIATRIC ER!! My brother ended up having a fractured arm and had a wound on his face which was cleaned up after 6 hours!!! Probably wouldn’t have been done if we didn’t request someone to help clean it. Ridiculous. We left at 12 AM!! We were there for 8 hours and we didn’t see the dr until 8:30 !! That’s 4.5 hours just waiting to be seen!! Do not come here!! It feels like staff doesn’t care about the patients!!

My mother had the worst experience while she was at Hackensack Meridian JFK hospital in Edison, New Jersey where most nurses just did not have any time (nor inclination) to attend to the patient needs. I say "most" because we did come across a couple of really caring nurses during her 9-day stay there. When she was discharged she was sent into the transportation vehicle just in the hospital gown. She was refused to be provided any blankets to cover her despite it being the cold night of February even though the family was assured by the care coordinator that the nurses will make sure to wrap her and make her comfortable before she is sent home. The care co-ordinator team did a very poor job of arranging transportation to get her home because of which she had to sit in that transportation vehicle for an additional 45 minutes before she could actually be brought inside her home. Hackensack Meridian claims that " We take great pride in providing the highest level of quantity care of our patients". I hope someone at Hackensack Meridian is taking note of this review so no other patient has to go through such a sad experience.
