The guy sitting at the front desk was rude and condescending. People like him should not be greeting customers, he makes the practice look bad. I guess if you’re short handed, you’ll be forced to hire anything that breathes.

Vision works overall is pretty bad but this location specifically is the worst. I ordered two pairs of glasses, one covered by insurance and the other out of pocket but apparently half off for the buy one get on 50% off promotion. Maybe it’s the language barrier between employees as speaking on the phone with three different employees was challenging but they did not use my insurance information at all and charged me only for the one pair that should’ve been covered by my insurance. I argued on the phone when I was told I needed to pay more and I just asked for a refund because of the ongoing issues I’ve had with the company. The lady placed the order wrong and because of that I have to pay more? No, it’s not my fault all the billing was done wrong when it was very simple to begin with. The two employees kept asking me to come back tomorrow to ‘fix’ the issue which is just me paying even more out of pocket instead of refunding the charge and using my insurance for the first pair. I basically had to beg for a refund as I was fed up with the pleading to come back tomorrow to ‘fix’ the issue. Avoid this location at all costs.

The Staff are outstanding, very helpful and enthusiastic. But after you have ordered your glasses, the wait limit for receiving the glasses takes a-lot longer and its inconvenient for me.

Unfortunately, after years of loyal patronage to visionworks for my entire family, both in New Jersey and in Maryland, our experience has been cut short by two individuals at the Edison NJ location.. Mr. Abdul and Mr. Alfred. I’ve worked retail my entire life and I was lectured about how busy a store theirs is- apparently explaining the lack of proper communication by Mr. Alfred involving prompt phone hangups without the promised return call. These people are dealing with prescription eyewear and Mr. Abdul had the gall to ask what I would do if I did not get my glasses, not once, but reiterated twice. I have studied and worked in the pharmaceutical field as has my wife, and this is not the proper etiquette when dealing with medical care. I have only written a negative review about a service once before.. and that was not even in America. Good bye vision works.

The worst kind of service i have ever faced in this branch...
In this location calling himself as Dr.Sue(an optometrist) but I have never seen a rude person in medical profession like him....
Had 6 o clock appointment a week before and was in his office at 6.05pm and still so blatantly he refused to examine me and went out, just because he didn't want to work anymore and was excusing that that I am late, where the office hours are till 7pm...
Thats totally inhuman, a worst medical professional, not sure if i can be right calling him as professional,as thats a quite sober word and he even doesn’t qualify the basic himan ethics.
If i had any negative start review, I would have opted for that as well...
The worst person and socially immense disrespectful guy!!!!

Stay away from these people. They are toxic. Optometrist (man) was rude and annoyed when I asked questions. Receptionist extremely rude and snarky. Instead of apologizing to me when I showed up on time and they took someone ahead of me, she said she had no idea how long I’d have to wait. And it was not my business to know how long that appointment would take. I understand things happen but theres never an excuse to be rude to customers. I will never return there.

SCAM SCAM SCAM This location has a $19. retina scan SCAM. Which is a money grab by their technicians. Wave the scan if your just their to see the Optimologist. The gay dude at the front desk is rude and needs training.

I just wanted to say there was a young lady who was training yesterday at Edison location. She was the absolute sweetest and her customer service skill were on point . She made my son and myself laugh almost the whole time . I am very out going bubble person myself it was like fresh air to be able to experience that in return! So shot out to that girl in Edison NJ location, don’t change your doing great 😊 best experience iv had there and in the past they haven’t been great at all . So thank you

That's a never a experience the girl. Very unprofessional I had to take my pictures twice. The young with the multicolored twist chewing gum while talking to me.
Although Doctors who took my exam was good staff needs to do better.

I have had a hard time finding a pleasant eye doctor in New Jersey. I was able to book a same day appointment here. Not only was it same day but they were very personal, my exam was quick. They took a real concern into my treatment, and I will be getting my glasses in 2 weeks. I am so thankful.

😕1st of all,
● the front reception guy was completely messed up during my visit.
He failed to talk and explain the process in a professional manner.
Suddenly, he used a machine to clean my eye using air without explaining the process. Once I said I didn't want a retina exam and a dilating eye drop, he replied , " Don't tell me what you need.
●The doctor was good but very reluctant to explain the process.
The frame selling area was better than the overall experience.
🔅Adviced. Need someone who can communicate properly. Explain the process and don't force to do ratina scan.
