“Forsythe is one of my favorite places to bird. On this trip I was there early on a weekday in October, and I basically had the wildlife loop all to myself. It was low tide which means the birds that feed at the mudflats or shallow water were active. If you have never been here before, note that in the summertime the biting flies can be absolutely maddening. They can make the day unpleasant if you plan to get in and out of your vehicle to see the birds.”

“Our family visited ACUA’s wind farm, wastewater treatment facility and landfill during a summer open house in 2022, and we had the best experience. Alexis and Amy are incredible educators and tour guides, skilled at sharing her expertise and enthusiasm with both adults and children at the same time. Our elementary-age kids enjoyed the tour, and we’re glad they had the opportunity to learn about sustainability and where waste goes. Highly recommend! And it’s free, too! They also have an annual Earth Day event that we would like to attend in the future.”

“GALLOWAY: Quirky and eclectic everyday decor, crafts, and seasonal items fill up this adorable store in Historic Smithville! They also have beautiful lawn signs for every occasion and you can't miss this shop and their beautiful outdoor display. Leashed dogs are allowed inside and be sure to use extra caution due to the delicate nature of the items and tight spaces to browse around.”
