“Jocelyn was incredibly helpful when my car broke down on I-95. I was able to get a quiet room quickly, clean up, and get back on my way. She even called after check in,

I stayed in this hotel for the second time because it’s a fairly easy 20 minute walk to city Field to go see my beloved Mets play… That’s solid option good price for New York. “I had a wonderful 4-night stay earlier this month. The staff was very friendly and offered a delicious welcome cookie upon my arrival. I stayed in the “cozy” room with a queen size bed. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom had a nice shower with good water pressure. I felt very safe in this quiet, lovely hotel. I would definitely recommend this place and loved the location for its easy walking proximity to the museums I wanted to see.”

“We stayed at Hotel Scherman on a family trip to NYC, and the two-bedroom suite (Room 402) was absolutely perfect for us. It was surprisingly spacious and spotless, with a comfortable living area, kitchenette, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large outdoor balcony. The kitchenette was well equipped with a Keurig, a small fridge with a freezer, a microwave (in a cabinet), plates, cups, mugs, silverware, and a wine opener.

We also loved the rooftop balcony on the 5th floor for the views, and the continental breakfast was solid, especially the croissants and hard-boiled eggs, which we enjoyed every morning. The location can’t be beat: close to great restaurants, shows, Times Square, and subway stations.

I would absolutely stay at Hotel Scherman again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to stay in New York City.”

“Highly recommended the Gotham Hotel. Good price the room, room was great size, good tv, had our own balcony plus a separate public balcony looking down to times square. Staff were great. After dropping our bags to sight see for the day, they were delivered to our room when it was ready. Cannot speak more highly of this place. We will be staying here next time.”

“We stayed here for a long girls weekend. from the moment we walked in, we LOVED it. The staff was so friendly and kind. Notably, Brian, was incredible. He was so attentive and always provided a warm welcome.

I had asked ahead of time for a small gift for my mom and sister, and just asked for a cookie and a card to celebrate them. I was so surprised they sent a small gift for them both + card! They also gave us a free piece of cheesecake at the spyglass for a birthday. The views are great from the rooftop or one of the empire view rooms.

The rooms are clean and cozy. Excellent location in midtown. Walkable everywhere or a 20min cab ride downtown or further out.

Would absolutely stay here again!”

“I found my new NYC hotel! The location is amazing as you can walk to so many key areas, like the New York Public Library and Bryant Park.
The room is beautiful. Nice bathroom and shower. Super clean.
The staff is kind and accomodating. Cool decor throughout.

“Great location near to Times square, Broadway, Restaurant Row and within walking distance of 5th avenue. Close to several subway entrances.
The rooms are a decent size for a base, with a TV, small fridge and a hairdryer. Breakfast included. Was as quiet at night as could be, could hear sirens when they went off but other than that was quiet with traffic”

“Stayed 8 nights at the end of July 2025 and couldn’t have asked for a better location. Pod 39 is less than a 5‑minute walk to Grand Central Station, which made getting around the city effortless, and most of New York’s main attractions were within easy reach.

I booked a single‑bed room. It was small, but very well organized and functional, which was perfect for a business trip where I wasn’t spending much time in the room. The highlight was the roof garden on the 17th floor, offering a fantastic view of the New York skyline and a great spot to unwind after a busy day.

Overall, a great choice for solo travelers or business trips looking for convenience and a central base in Manhattan.”

The location is perfect about 5 minutes walk from Times Square. The hotel was very quiet (we didn't hear a thing) and the beds were very comfortable.

The breakfast options are basic - but good.

“From the warm, friendly reception I received upon walking through the door, my experience at The Pearl Hotel was exceptional in every way. Every employee was a consummate professional as well as being genuinely committed to providing outstanding customer service. To a person, all of the staff seemed so happy to be working there and did everything to make my stay easy and comfortable.My room was spacious and beautiful with every amenity imaginable. It was immaculately clean with plenty of towels. The huge rainfall shower made me feel like I was in a tropical paradise under a waterfall. I loved that my room overlooked a gorgeous cathedral. “We stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriott New York The Bronx at Metro Center Atrium after being displaced by a fire, and honestly, the staff made such a hard situation feel a little less awful.

Everyone was incredibly accommodating and kind to us. They remembered what we were going through, checked in where they could, and did little things that meant a lot — like turning on the fireplace on the patio when we asked and just generally making sure we were as comfortable as possible.

Naomi and Winzell deserve a huge thank you. Naomi was the real VIP of our stay because she made sure my ESAs were taken care of, which took so much stress off my shoulders. Winzell was also amazing and helped us when we needed to extend our reservation for an extra night.

Thank you to Joseph too, for fixing the computer station and printer when we needed it. That might sound small, but when you’re dealing with displacement paperwork and trying to keep your life together, working printers matter.

I also want to shout out the bartender. I’m so sorry I forgot her name, but she was amazing. Her music was always good, she always took care of my drinks, and she listened to me complain when I was clearly going through it. She even made me a vodka Red Bull after I bought my own Red Bull because they didn’t have any, and honestly, that was iconic of her.

The breakfast staff was also great. The food was really good, and the service was always attentive. The two gentlemen who run breakfast on the weekends were so sweet and helped us get breakfast together to bring upstairs for my mother.

And thank you to the cleaning crew for dealing with the mess of our pet-friendly rooms. We had a lot going on, and I really appreciate the patience and understanding.

This stay happened during one of the worst weeks of our lives, but the staff made us feel cared for instead of like we were just another reservation. I’m really grateful for everyone there.”

“The service was good, and the rooms clean, but the design was incredibly annoying. The bathroom had 3 doors that you would need to close each for privacy. Two of the doors would only close if you pulled them simultaneously. The ceilings are high, but it looks like they don’t bring a ladder to clean as the majority of the upper wall and vents were incredibly dusty. The TV was laggy and would sporadically switch to a black screen and not function for over a minute before returning to the Home Screen. The closet couldn’t open due to the carpet causing friction between the door and the floor. The faucet on the sinks were so far back it was basically impossible to use them without water splashing down the back wall and joining the existing water stains behind the sink. The lights in the bathroom would turn off, seemingly at random, not great when you’re showering. The lights in the room will all turn on if the front door is opened, so you’re likely to unknowingly wake up anyone you’re staying with if you leave earlier than them to grab coffee or breakfast. Leaving also turns off all the lights in the bathroom, so you shouldn’t leave if anyone is showering or using it. Overall weird and annoying choices for an otherwise great hotel.”

“We loved this quiet, quaint hotel in the best location. The only downside was a strange smell in the hallway and elevator, which may have been due to the extreme cold. We would stay here again.”

“We loved this hotel. The service was excellent. They were beyond helpful, kind and friendly through our whole stay. The location is calm and upscale. The Fine Hotels and Resorts benefits with American Express are great. Our room definitely needed some upgrades. It showed a lot of wear from the years. However, the room was still very comfortable but lost in its sense of luxury due to the wear. It was kind of a bummer but wouldn’t deter me from staying there again. I would definitely recommend and would stay there again!”

“Extremely appreciative of the front desk staff (didn’t catch her name!) for letting me check in a few hours early to my room :) This hotel was great for my trip for just needing somewhere to crash for the night. Close to the Subway, Grand Central and not far from Times Square.”

“Aptly named! After an extensive search, I chose The Jewel and my stay couldn’t have been better. I was in the city for one night for a show with 10 other people. They all chose to stay right in Times Square. I believe their rooms were fine but I fo t know that they were as pleased as I was and I believe they paid more. We all met up for Mass at St Pats in the morning so the location couldn’t have been better.

I was in the back of the hotel, 10th floor and all I heard was the low purr from my heating unit. Room was quite spacious for NYC. Comfy bed and quality cotton linens. I almost left a glowing review as I climbed into bed but fell asleep too quickly!

Very, very good coffee (by any hotel standard) from the machine in the common room, and Nespresso in my own room. You might get better from a barista but not from any chain hotel I’ve stayed in and that has been quite a few, including 5 star hotels. Filtered water to fill up my bottle saved me $.

All in all, a perfect stay. Highly recommend. Oh, and everyone working here was extremely pleasant .”
