“I opened my first account at Glen Rock Savings Bank (whose current headquarters are at 175 Rock Road in Glen Rock, NJ) when I was just a boy--some 60 years ago. In six decades with this bank (which has also served my parents, my siblings and their children), I've never had a problem of any sort. (And that's extremely rare in life; the consistently good service that they provide should not be taken for granted.) It's a model of what a bank should be. The people here are unfailingly kind, courteous, professional, and friendly (in a nice, small-town sort of way). They know who I am. They're smart and flexible. And can offer good advice when needed. The bank has grown a bit since I was a boy, with branches in two other towns (Hawthorne and West Orange), but it retains its appealing neighborhood feel, and its independence as a successful local business. (It has not been gobbled up by some larger bank.) I do business with various banks. But this is, by far, my favorite--very well-run. And they deal with people well. I'll always keep an account here.”

“Tellers are knowledgeable, efficient, and pleasant. Since banks went paperless, and this is all banks, there’s no privacy from other customers as to what your transactions are. For example, withdrawing a large amount of money. I also think you should have a staff member available to open accounts, not the tellers, again a privacy issue. Have been banking at the Glen Rock branch for a few months and am satisfied except for the lack of privacy.”

“3 stars for this branch, 5 STARS to Amira White a banker at this location. I have been requesting a new debit for about 3 months now and 3 separate occasions. Each visit was always the same. Go in, receive the temp card (which expires after 30 days) and wait “5-6 business days” for the official card to come. However, the card would never arrive and there was no way of tracking/ proof of delivery. I came back twice after that, each time asking if there was a way the bank was able to send a card with a tracking number, both times I was told there was nothing to do. Fast forward almost 3 months and 3 visits later... still no card... I went back into the branch with intentions of closing the account. I felt helpless, at this point, I had multiple of my account that were on auto pay “late” because of the expiration on temp cards. Not to mention having to take a flight in 2 weeks. That’s when I met with AMIRA WHITE. From the time she met with me she was extremely professional and empathetic. I had NOT told her my plans of canceling the account, I also did NOT ask if she was able to track the card because the prev bankers advised there was not. Ms Amira White took the initiative and offered me next shipping WITH A TRACKING # and even walked me to the atm to make sure the temp card was working (it’s the small things that count, none of the other banker did that). She also called me the next day to make sure I received the card. She went above and beyond without even knowing entirely what was going going on NOR that I was planning to close the account. It’s people like her that make the world go round. This woman deserves a raise!”
