This is unfortunately the second time I'm complaining re the bakery department. I know everyone works hard and its appreciated, but this is the second time they've made a birtbday cake wrong that I've asked for. I wanted two different types of fillings in the cake ( I usually would get this same cake from a local bakery that closed last year) and my first order was March of last year, and they just chose one of the fillings instead of both and made the cake and added the form (that mentioned both fillings) on to the box. I didn't know it was only one filling until I cut into it at the party. When I called to let them know they got the order wrong, they kind of laughed as If to imply they couldn't and wouldn't do anything about it.This time I thought maybe calling and explaining what i wanted instead of filling out the form would be better, and when I went to slice the cake at the party this evening -- same thing. The bakery department just did what they wanted, even though it says what I wanted on the form.I am very disappointed because I didn't get what I asked for both times. Each time I let the party goers know it was similar to the cake we would order at the bakery that we all used to go to. How embarrassing it was to cut the cake and see that the bakery dept didn't even follow the directions -- not once, but twice.Looking at the receipt I was charged for canned filling that wasn't even added to the cake. How could someone mess up like this?!

Well well ShopRite of hazlet has really gone down hill. I saw the most unsanitary thing I’ve seen in years when I saw the deli employee putting unwrapped meat and cheeses into a shopping cart !! 3/16. I guess food safety is not a concern in this store. I’ll stick to the Middletown shoprite my usual store ??. Wouldn’t recommend this store to anyone

the man who runs the produce dept should get an award of excellence. what a beautiful and caring job that he does here. everything is fresh and laid out like he is trying to win the memphis bbq championship. it just blows me away what can be achieved when someone cares. thanks so much!

Just ok never stocked efficiently stock people should work when store is closed not blocking aisle when shopping ? terrible ?

Depends on the day, but sometimes you get great service there, and other days you don't. Today, the cashier was fun and talkative. I really enjoyed socializing with her.

I try to avoid self checkout at Hazlet ShopRite. The 2 regular cashiers on self checkout are the rudest I have seen in all my years at any ShopRite. They are Grinch 2.0. A smile would be nice every now and then.

Takes way too long to check out! If you don’t want all the lanes open for self check out at least have more than 3 lanes to check out with a cashier. I shouldn’t have to be spending more time checking out than it did to shop. Other than the the store is kept clean and organized

Produce was fresh and meat department had a good selection. Only complain is I Waited on line for deli meats for over 30 minutes just to be told they were out of my top 3 choices. Would go here for anything but the cold cuts

Best experience I've had with a food store chain in a very long time. An extremely nice gentleman, who works at shop rite helped me today while searching for 6 pumpkins for my daughter's class. He was helpful, caring and very informative. Thank you!

Today I returned ham because it went bad (gummy) someone at the coutesy desk said "we have a 7 day return policy." I understand that, but I told him the ham hasnt even expired yet. He said "sorry"This is ridiculous, you don't always open everything in 7 days.

I have been shopping at hazlet shop rite since it opened. Since plastic bags were eliminated every customer has 2 bag their own groceries. The cashiers are rude, do not say hello. As you are bagging your own groceries, they stand there requesting that you hurry and pay. Really? None of them offer to help. Going shopping at this store is like a job. Even the self scan is now limited to 20 iterms. The cashiers there stand and do not offer assistance, but will ask ' did you pay for that?' Again really?My store preferences is no longer this shop rite. Even the stockers and all other employees walk in front of you as you are shopping.What ever happened to training staff to be helpful and courteous? Not at Hazlet Shop Rite.I have been unhappy going to this store for a long time . I am truly done.

Still the problem with the self checkout counters, under staffed and constant problem error messages on the screen. The beleaguered staff has to constantly override the system for us and I have to wait for the staffs assistance.

I had the best experience with Linda from the floral department. She took her time, and did such a wonderful job of putting a gorgeous bouquet together for my mom's 75th birthday.
