I can’t say enough good things about Elias and the team at Oradell Auto Repair. He’s one of the few mechanics left who truly takes pride in diagnosing a problem instead of just swapping parts. He cares & keeps the customer at heart, which is truly special.
I brought in my modified Subaru WRX after a difficult-to-trace coolant leak that showed up only under extreme heat and boost. Elias spent over two hours running pressure tests, heat cycling, and methodically inspecting the system until he found the issue — a small tolerance mismatch between my aftermarket hoses and the stock radiator inlets, leading to the clamps not holding only under extreme conditions. Most shops would’ve missed that or charged me hundreds in unnecessary parts & labor.
He explained everything clearly, replaced the clamps with the proper style, flushed and refilled the coolant, and didn’t overcharge me for the time he invested. He even helped me spot a cracked power steering reservoir and showed me how to replace it myself — that kind of honesty and teaching is rare.
I’ve trusted Elias with everything from my heavily modified WRX to my 23-year-old GMC Denali, & our family vehicle, a new Toyota Highlander Hybrid. He’s consistently proven to be skilled, fair, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He also stood behind his work when a defective steering rack had to be redone, covering all the labor, fluids, and alignment at his own cost. I've sent both my brother and my mother to him for work without hesitation, and they had positive experiences also.
Oradell Auto Repair is the kind of shop you hope to find, but almost never do — honest, mechanically sharp, and committed to doing the job right the first time.

“I trust no one else with my car besides Pete. I went to PepBoys and they tried charging me $1,200 for a replacement part that Pete fixed without replacing for $35. I have also gone to get things checked out mechanically and if there is no service done, he doesn't charge. Extremely kind and fair man who clearly knows what he is doing. I can't recommend him enough.”

Although he had a couple of jobs before getting to my car he stayed in communication and updates on his eta to get to us being very professional.
Upon arrival not only was he very experienced and knowledgeable with cars and towing but he was also very nice,explained things well and has an awesome personality.
This was not an easy tow by any means,it was a 50 yr old antique car that wouldnt move,its a family heirloom that was stuck in the back of a tight driveway on a very busy street in North Bergen.David make it look easy.Then he towed it to Stroudburg PA and the location was definitely not easy for any trucks to get to having to navigate very small 1 way dirt roads in the dark country setting.His tip was well deserved and I highly recommend him for future service with any of my families vehicles.He did a great job!”

Occasionally I'll try another mechanic for convenience purposes, but at the end of the day it's damn near impossible to find somebody better than them.They may not always be the fastest option out there (though they always do their best to accommodate) but if you want the job done RIGHT with no bs, go to Lou's. Their prices are always very reasonable, and never once have they tried to upsell or bait-and-switch me. They will also let you know which issues are more urgent than others, so that YOU can make the best choice for your situation. Good luck finding another mechanic with that level of honesty!”

“I was in the front lines and caught Covid March 2020 extremely badly. So about 2-3 month later, I finally got better and realized my car wouldn’t start or cutting on and off even it did. To my surprise, I got my silver ford fusion to the only shop opened and available. They fixed the problem (bx rats had eaten my wires completely for an entire month on the street and set up shop) immediately. “I had an issue with the air conditioning in my car, I stopped by the nearest mechanic shop to have it checked out which happened to be Johnson Service Center in Hackensack. Jimmy the mechanic and owner told me to pull it in the driveway of the shop and he’d have a look. At the time, I noticed he had other projects going on so I thought for sure he was gonna take a look and schedule an appointment for a later date, however he told me he could fix it in 30 minutes and asked if now was a good time to start. He hooked up my car, I waited a little less than 30 mins and I was on my way! Highly recommend this body shop, and grateful that Jimmy was so quick and accommodating, despite his busy shop! Will be using him for all future mechanical needs!”

“I want to give a HUGE Shout out to Dan. He was literally God sent. I was going home to NY from a family gathering and my car started smoking. It was late on a Saturday night, and everything around me was closed. I drove to the gas station just to get out of the road. Dan saw me extremely upset and asked how he can help me. I explain to him that my car had smoke coming from the engine, but the car wasn’t overheating. He had explained to me that he had a similar problem one time with his vehicle, and he was able to fix it. He went to see if I had the same problem as he previously did. This incredible human being got a shoelace from the store, and was able to fix the wire that was leaking that was producing the smoke. I was able to make it safely home from New Jersey to Brooklyn in a little over an hour. The car never throw smoke again and drove smoothly. I was even able to drive around the next day to find a mechanic to fix the problem correctly. I owe Dan a huge thank you. He went above and beyond to help me out and didn’t charge me anything. I will be forever indebted to Dan. If you know who I’m speaking about, please give him a huge, thank you. He is a great person. I hope you read this one day and understand how truly appreciative I am for your help that evening. You were my angel that day.”
