I was very disappointed with the result of my last visit. I've been a loyal customer for over 15 years. My Benz had a fuel leak, and the problem was "fixed" after the fuel pump/line was replaced at $1K cost. No more leak, but a new problem reared its ugly head after about 10 miles. While driving down the highway, the engine shut down. Complete disabled, and I somehow moved to the median, parked, and restarted the car. I got home, but the next day the car would not stay on after it starts. Another tow was required. I came to find out from the manager that there was a clog in the fuel line. Shouldn't this have been discovered after the first fuel/line replacement? It was a dangerous situation for me to drive under such conditions. Then I was charged another $400 for diagnostic, and they found that there was some kind of clog in the new line that was replaced. And not only that, I discovered that my passenger window broke (the motor on the window grinds, but the window would not move), and the manager didn't notify me. I discovered this only after I picked up the car and rolled down the windows to let in fresh air, only to discover that the window mechanism broke. Luckily my wife and I were in the parking lot, and immediately came into the store to let them know. The manager came out and told me not to push the button to roll the window down further because the motor broke. Huh? How did he know? Apparently, he knew. Why didn't he tell me about it? He said he was testing the car after clearing the fuel line, driving it down the highway, and when he opened the window, it did not work properly. Why didn't he tell me about it? What happened to my window that it suddenly fail? I find this really frustrating.
I am giving this a 2 star, only because they had been good to my other cars (honda and nissan). The problems with my Mercedes deserves 0 star, so this is why I'm giving 2 stars. I shouldn't have been charged for the 2nd issue, which I think is related to the 1st issue. Furthermore, what happened to my window that it suddenly broke while under the care of the store?

Stopped in with a screw in back tire and they took care of me ASAP fixing it up quick. Thank you Tony. I got my tires from here too.

The front of the house staff Vanessa and Tony were very professional and definitely knowledgeable about car maintenance and issues. Vanessa was able to get my vehicle in without an actual appointment but managed to get it in between appointments. She explained in detail what my schedule maintenance requirements are and my options. She was able to provide a detailed inspection sheet and informed me of the current issues and made sound suggestions how to move forward. I was given a courtesy call when my vehicle was complete with an email notification. I will never take my 4 cars anywhere else but this place. They have my trust and confidence that they will take care of any car issues keeping safety is paramount. To the Pepboys Howell front staff and bay crew....you guys are awesome!

My husband just left Pep Boys in Howell and we had a great experience. They have been extremely accommodating when he needed breaks done, then needed to go back for a belt and tire repair. They were professional,caring and worked hard to get these jobs done the day of! We will definitely be going back!!

I brought my car in for a 2nd opinion for a noise that another mechanic said might be the axle. This didn’t make much sense to me and I had a feeling the car was not safe to drive For the next four days while we waited for an appointment. When I called Pep Boys, I spoke to Sam, Who understood the gravity of the situation and told me to bring my car in right away. When I came to drop the car off Tony, the mechanic, overheard our conversation, asked me a few questions and told me he would take a look at it right away. Tony called me 15 minutes later to tell me the noise was Actually a loose tire which he tightened up and then took the car for a ride to make sure the noise was gone. I’m so grateful To Sam and Tony for taking my car in without an appointment and saving me from what could’ve been a very bad situation.

I took my car in to be repaired for a water lube job. I was quoted an estimate and when I got the job done the day after it went up a $100 more. I was charged $300 for labor for a job that only took 45 minutes. Now I understand why people say, "Why did you take your car to Pep Boys?"
