“This is one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever visited, flawless in every detail. I visited on a busy September weekend when moldy Manhattan hotels were charging $600 a night, yet James’ single room was just $210—without any hidden fees. How could anyone complain?

The beauty lies in its artistic harmony. We stayed in Room 2 on the ground floor, a room with a brown theme where the lighting and colors were simply exquisite—every photo is Instagram-worthy. Our window looked out onto a corner of the garden, almost like gazing at a painting. As night fell and the garden lights came on, it felt like watching starlit romance. Every inch of the space showcases the designer’s aesthetic touch, something you would only expect to find for $1,600 a night in Manhattan! (And as someone who just stayed at the St. Regis for that price, I can vouch for this!) Plus, they even offer breakfast!

The bathroom is pink and perfectly coordinated. I hadn’t had the chance to soak in a bath in three years, but here, I finally did. The bathtub was new and sparkling clean. Though the hotel dates back to 1904, it doesn’t have the kind of decay or “charmingly old” issues that you often find in Manhattan hotels. You can enjoy a bath here with peace of mind. Bath salts are also available for purchase if you want a stress-relieving soak. The lighting in the pink bathroom creates a soft brown hue—an ideal backdrop for capturing beautiful photos.

Beyond the thoughtful design of the furniture and color schemes, they also enhance the guest experience with nice touches like a refrigerator, bath towels, and even two cookies upon arrival, which made my son very happy.

If I had to list any downsides: 1) There’s no elevator in this old building, which might not be stroller-friendly, but I don’t think it’s a big deal; 2) The staff finishes their shift at 6 PM, so any requests after that might not be accommodated—luckily, we didn’t run into any issues; 3) Some garden features, like a fire pit, might not be available; 4) The location is in a residential neighborhood, not downtown, so there aren’t many restaurants or bars nearby, and the beach is more rustic, not as fine-sand as Asbury Park. But honestly, this hotel is perfect for unwinding and reflecting—its tranquility is unmatched.

If I were to rate it out of 10, I’d give it a full 10—it’s just perfect for me.

Nearby activities: I took my son to the playground nearby , he loves it ! That s one of the best in NY-NJ, the seagulls at the ocean are aggressive, not recommended if u go with kids

Food and drinks: They only provide breakfast, and in a residential neighborhood, not downtown, so there aren’t many restaurants or bars nearby, we ordered The Greek Spot from DoorDash , it s damn good as like in this hotel”

“I don’t even know where to begin. My husband and I got married at jumping brook on Saturday 3/23/24, and I have no words other than perfection. Our wedding was absolutely perfect. And it poured rain all day long and it still was the perfect day. Diamond and Lady were absolutely perfect. Our drinks were never empty whatever we needed they took care of. Everything was on time and on schedule. I would have my reception there over and over again. We got so many compliments on the food and cocktail hour. It was all flawless! I can’t thank Jumping Brook enough for giving Kenny and I the most perfect day! If you are considering booking here for your wedding, stop considering and book them now, you won’t regret it !”

“Nothing more iconic than the Asbury Park Convention Hall at the boardwalk. Huge facility with shops and restaurants ringing the main hall. Have seen many a show and event here. Plenty of parking, lodging and things to do in the area. Highly recommend you visit if you have the opportunity. Why not make it a weekend.”

“We just had our 40th Class Reunion at the Waterview and had a fantastic night at this venue. Suzanne, the booking manager, was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. She was very accommodating and responsive. The main ballroom with the overlooking balcony was spacious and elegant. The passedhors d'oeuvres and buffet selections were all delicious. The pricing, scenic location and private parking are all perks that make this an ideal location to host events.”

“PERFECTION. I had my daughter’s Sweet 16 last night at the yacht club. It exceeded my expectations. The room looked beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the staff could not have been more accommodating and friendly. Pat was a joy to work with from the start of the planning process to the end of the party. She is so helpful and kind. My guests were raving about the evening. “We got married here on 5/4 and I cannot say enough good things about this venue. Allison was amazing to work with from the beginning and was so accommodating with our concerns and wishes. Nemo, our Maitre D, was unbelievable as well! He listened to all of our design and flow ideas for the day and set everything up beautifully. He ensured everything ran smoothly and is probably the most gentle and compassionate person I’ve ever met! Such a kind soul. The food was amazing, and everyone was raving about it! Sterling Ballroom served as a one stop shop for us - the hotel, getting ready (bridal suite + presidential suite *which by the way is humongous and gorgeous and where we slept Friday and Saturday night*), ceremony (both outdoor and indoor options, which btw our outdoor ceremony got rained out 30 min before ceremony and they made a game time decision to frantically set up the indoor ceremony space for us so beautifully and it was perfect!) cocktail hour, reception and after party in the colbalt lounge plus a space for breakfast the next morning. All our guests loved the venue so much and found it to be super convenient that everyone was in one place. They recently renovated the hotel and it is gorgeous and whimsical. From the hotel to catering staff, everyone was so helpful and easy to work with start to finish. I highly highly recommend Sterling Ballroom!!”

“We booked the Royal Banquet Hall for our sons’ Birthday party. It was the perfect choice. The hall was spacious, clean, and even had the perfect space to store and serve food and drinks. The bathrooms are nicely tucked away and don’t take away from the space of the hall at all. Ashleigh was a pleasure to work with and made everything easy from booking to the end of the party. We’re looking forward to celebrate here again in the future.”

“The Channel Club is a beautifully maintained marina nestled into an area with options for food and drinks. Everything at the club is detail oriented and the staff is attentive and always friendly. We will definitely be returning!”

“My 5 y.o had an awesome swimming experience here she is having the best time and has a great approach with children and staff, . My daughter learned the basics of swimming after just a few lessons (swim underwater and stroke as well as float on her back). I recommend five star swim school.”

“Beautiful place, building, location. Loved the dated pink bathroom. Loved breakfast and it's space. Unlimited free Candies and coffee were an unexpected surprise (love it). Most staff were super nice. Really liked the fire pit spot. I hope the kittens found a safe home.”

“We stayed in a wedding group block. There were 3-4 other weddings there. Read on for the pros and cons. I’m hoping management reads this.

Our room was quiet and quite large. Clean and the Tv was able pair with my YouTube account. There are other services like Netflix as well. Very easy to do.

Lots of outlets and USB-A points to charge. Housekeeping was nice and we didn’t requested that they did not need to make up the room daily.

As part of the block they did enter the room to drop off free breakfast coupons.

Upon check in we found the front desk to be a little less than welcoming.

However the sole attendant at the breakfast buffet, Charles, was amazing. It wasn’t fair that he was the ONLY staff member for the morning after 3-4 weddings coming for breakfast.

Charles was checking people in, setting the tables, bussing tables, getting things guests needed, refreshing the buffet, cleaning the buffet and doing it all with a smile.

Most of the time he was nearly running to get it all done. He took it all in stride.

Honestly the hotel should not have done that to him. There was easily 50+ guests having breakfast for ONE employee.

As we left we thanked him for all of his hard work, shook his hand and a gratuity. He clearly deserved it.”

“After a 17-hour trip in the car with two teenagers, we needed some respite. Desperately making several unsuccessful calls to find lodging, Jim answered the call at Sonesta (Eatontown/Tinton Falls). He couldn’t have been more friendly at nearly midnight and found us a room! He was professional, courteous and genuinely caring while I vented my frustration regarding our situation. Based on the customer service, I would choose this hotel over the others in the area, but the rooms and beds were exactly what we needed! Again, I would thank Jim and recommend to clone him as an example for other customer service representatives. A++!”
