I am not disparaging the big box variety of bookstore, but humanity deserves a place to discover amazing written pages in a comfortable setting in a locale close to home. The Cooperative exceeds expectations and judging by the flow of book searching humans on a Saturday afternoon others have discovered this warm, comfy opportunity for discovery too! In fact, my grandson is currently lost amidst the Children's section where moments ago he read a Christmas book to me using his 4-year-old imagination. I have been wanting to read something of Michener and discovered two near new versions of novels for $1 each. Such a wonderful island amidst Asbury Park's exciting restaurant and business scene. Stop in ... grab a book and disappear into your imagination!”

“Me and my fiance decided to try out a tour - unfortunately for my wallet, we didn't have 6 people for the tour ticket, so we spent $120 for the tour for just yhe two of us. I always enjoy spooky stuff, so it was neat, and they had a few cool things. I would suggest having a full 6 people for that tour ticket as I feel it wasn't worth that much for the walk through. They do have a lovely bookstore that is free ! I am interested in trying out their ghost tour and joining one of their seances next time !”

“What a great bookstore. owners are so friendly and laid back. Also, very knowledgeable. Great selection of books and gifts. Don't leave without getting a cup of coffee from the coffee bar in the back. Excellent coffee!”

“Amazing experience at Thunder Road books on Small Business Saturday. It's so refreshing to visit a legitimate mom & pop bookstore. The service was incredibly personal and the whole staff's passion for books was so clearly evident. The store itself is very intimate and beautifully designed. They have a great staff recommendation list which was excellent to use for Christmas gifts and they were super helpful when I inquired about a hard to find book I was interested in. The owner himself got involved with the search! They could not have been any more polite and hospitable. The small size and personal touches are what makes this local business one I will visit again and recommend to others. Bonus points for all the great Danny Clinch photos on the walls!!!”

“I have been going to Ocean Grove for vacation for several years now. I make it a point to visit the Comfort Zone on every trip. I love there selection of children's books and toys. I recently asked about a book I was looking for about the shark attacks on the Jersey Shore back in 1916. The owner of the store knew exactly what I was looking for but it was out of stock. He got on the phone and ordered for me. When it came in he called and sent to me. There items and products for every thing imaginable. I will be stopping by next year for sure. Marty H. “Very nicely laid out. Relatively well stocked. Maneuvering some areas were a little tricky. The cashier was very nice. It was nice to see a Cafe with ample seating. The barista was helpful and patient with me, a newbie to the Starbucks world. Because B&N owns the Starbucks Cafe. you are supposed to get reward points if you're a member, per the cashier. Once already hone, I noticed I did not receive any points for my Cafe purchases. I don't live nearby the store but will try and get the points if I visit this store again.”
