“This Shoprite might not be very big but it's the absolute best in my opinion. The new chef they have working the food service department has turned the department into prime food to go lunch spot. The fried chicken and hot bar entrees are high quality and professionally prepared. Since the addition of the new chef and the well training he gave his crew, this place has really come up and gotten on track. I really hope they have him running the food service department when the new Manchester Shoprite goes up on Rt 37, not too far after the circle. Do your self a favor and stop in for lunch, they do not disappoint. ????????”

I make salmon gravlax almost every week, and I buy it at your fish department. The fish is always fresh with no smell! The worker at the counter is so helpful and does a beautiful job taking off the skin and any other parts I ask him to, he is also willing to give me whatever shape, section and size of the fish that I request. One week (during the 9 days) I came too close to shabbos, and the guy was so honest to let me know that the Scottish fish sold out and the other fish I was seeing in the display was a different kind of salmon. I appreciated that i was given the opportunity to make an educated decision. I ended up going to a different store and really regretted my decision (in terms of quality, cut, and attitude). It also highlighted how privileged I am all the other weeks when I shop your fish. Thank you so much.”

And the prices? Let’s just say your wallet doesn’t need a mashgiach temidi here — it’s not getting attacked like in some other places.

The vibe is very old-school Lakewood: practical, no nonsense, and everyone’s moving with purpose. Especially Erev Shabbos — it turns into a full sugya: carts weaving, people speed-walking like they’re late to Mincha, and the checkout line is basically a chaburah where everyone’s discussing what they’re making and who forgot what. If you come at peak time, bring patience… and maybe a shtikel mussar 😂

Now I’ll be honest in a respectful way: it’s not always “five-star hotel lobby” sparkling. It’s more like… working grocery, busy, real-life. But if you’re going there for the essentials, the deals, and that heimish “I know what I’m doing” shopping experience — you’ll be very happy.

Bottom line: Shloimy’s is a Lakewood classic. Great for stocking up, grabbing Shabbos basics, and feeling like you just accomplished something big — even if all you did was buy chicken, rolls, and ten things you didn’t plan on. Recommended!”

“Great store to get whatever it is you need like milk , bread, cereal or even fresh cup of hot coffee only downside it's a bit small and tends to get crowded when it's real busy like when people get of work in the evening,but other than that they're really good people .”
