“Love Art Star! I have gotten many great presents as well as things for myself. They did move to the Independence Visitor Center at 599 Market Street which is not yet reflected here as of my review.”

“I've had Jeffrey do custom canvas stretching on 2 large paintings I purchased from recent travels and they turned out wonderfully. The service took just under a week for each, it was easy to communicate with him, and the paintings were easy to hang once I got home. I will return for additional framing needs. Thank you!”
“I love this place beyond words! I used to live in Philly and would visit the store in person often. Now that I've been living in Los Angeles for over a decade, I'm grateful I can still shop at Indigo online. Over the last few years I have purchased two of my favorite pieces of art - both Haitian beaded voodoo flags. They are breathtaking. The shop owner, Tony was incredibly helpful in answering my myriad of questions. It's not easy to find crafts from all vast areas around the world, so a shop like this is a true treasure.”
“Incredible work, and fast! The team was so kind and understanding, and worked extra hard to help me put together a thank you gift. I will even admit that I was probably too particular about how it turned out, but they never hesitated to go to great lengths to ensure my framed photo gift was exactly what I envisioned. Thank you!”
“Jim is a fantastic instructor, he explained each step very clearly but also gave you space to create by yourself. Being an art teacher myself & my hubby a scientist, we found the process so interesting & have some lovely additions for our Christmas tree which we will use for years to come. A wonderful experience overall!”
“I highly recommend Liberty Art and Framing. Jay has helped me pick frames which are tasteful and done in a most superb and timely manner. I have never been disappointed and will continue to take any piece of artwork to this wonderful establishment. He is most reasonable with pricing and happens to be a delightful person. I would give it ten stars!!!!”
“We have a few nice comic shops in town and you will know within an instant whether this is a comic shop you belong in or not. In our household, this is the shop where my wife famously purchased a nicely bound book of a tremendous amount of lines in different patterns (forever known by our teenaged child as "the book with all the lines"). Look, it's like some of that skronky jazz. If you don't "get" it, you have to assume the people who do are not playing a trick on you.For my part, I have never felt quite at ease in this store. It's got that liminal space feel, like you're walking down an endless hall, thinking about the things you have done. The walls absorb all noise, you can hear the blood rushing in your ears. It will remind you of your friends who talk too much about Chicago and how great it is, but you remember the time you were there in winter and how your beard froze and people seemed so miserable. Weather can kill you in a place like that, I tell you.If you are me, you can go here and get your Jesse Jacobs, your occasional Schuiten, your Decadence Press, your Woodring and Burns and Al Columbia. They carry the great Hollow Press. If you're my wife, you buy the books with lines; look, she's got the artist's eye, she has all the credibility in the world. And if you're the comic book person that has that terribly withering internal critic, the one that poisons you inside, the one I always associate with Comics Journal kooks, this is your place too.I docked a star because it really needs music or something to be playing. In Atomic City there's going to be music, there's going to be an atmosphere, some young guy is going to be too loudly proclaiming his love for the Flash. I'm still charmed by that, I still have years left to live on this earth. At this place, you just know you're going to get Pavement or whatever. Like I said, you'll know in an instant.”
“Amazing people in the place. Nice vibes. Respectful and collaborative exchange between people from different generations. Artists and art lovers all together. Great music. Specially the Fridays of Cuban Rumba. I had a blast.”
“A must see if you're visiting Philly! Do get your tickets ahead of time to ensure you're able to get in when you'd like to. It can get a bit crowded!”
“What an amazing store. Definitely visit if you are in Philly and want something special and unique. The owner and staff here are super sweet and nice. All the art and pieces they have seem highly curated and they personally know the artists as well. We will definitely be visiting anytime we are in Philly.”
“Wendy and her assistant Nat are truly warm, kind, professional people. The work they do is exemplary. I’ve had a number of photo prints framed there because of the museum-quality work that they do. They are thorough and patient, always taking the time to walk the customer through every detail. They also try to work with you to be cost efficient in your choices. I love this shop and their work, I won’t need to go anywhere else in Philly for my framing needs!”
“super happy with the job they did framing a painting I got from a local artist in Peru. The price was very reasonable and the service was top notch! I have to give a big shoutout to May! She was an absolute pleasure to interact with and really nice and sweet to my girlfriend and I. We will definitely be coming here for any framing needs moving forward :)”
“I utilized the Ever Present service, which puts your VCR and other format videos onto a memory stick to preserve them through Arts Plus Gallery and it was a great experience! The staff at Arts Plus are very friendly and the Ever Present service is wonderful! I highly recommend!!!”

“Elfie is an attentive, responsive landlord, and the studios are impeccably maintained and just such gorgeous, thoughtfully planned spaces. Plus, the building really takes you out of the hustle and bustle of the city, and finding parking is easy, which is a nice change. Love having our pottery studio here!”
“They did a fabulous job!! I dropped off a sentimental piece of art with no idea what matting or frame to use. They provided me with options and told me why certain combos may be better than others. Originally, they gave me the turn around time of 5 days. However, the day after I dropped off the artwork, they called me to tell me it was ready. They did a fabulous job and exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this place for your framing needs.”
“Rush Arts Philly opened in September 2016 with a show called “Power, Protest, and Resistance: The Art of Revolution”. Through works by dozens of artists—both Philadelphia and New York-based—the inaugural exhibition showcased the intersection of visual art and social action: art in the time of Occupy and the Black Lives Matter movement, art that both reflects and informs the ways that these different streams of protest, language and action are converging and building momentum towards, perhaps, some major cultural shift.”
“I miss going here. This place was my childhood, going there back when the old location was still opened. The atmosphere is always great for kids, especially during the summer. Unfortunately, as the years went on, it became a lot more adults, no longer being just for the kids. It went from a small and colorful establishment with a huge love of Puertorriqueno feels to a bland building that became more restrictive. From happy employees thinking of the kids first to employees just there to get small cash in their pockets. I still love this place, but I miss how it used to feel, especially now that I'm no longer a part of it. I don't get to see the old locations where I used to learn. Never lose your Puertorican joy
Kind regards, an old friend to lost memories
Thank you for teaching me to be proud of my culture ??”
“A magical shopping experience where you are certain to discover a new treasure for your home and unique gifts for those you adore.Kimberly Camp's marvelously curated Galerie Marie, named for her mother, offers shoppers an eclectic mix of fine art, home decor, textiles, jewelry, and many one-of-a-kind gifts. It's a standout in Collingswood's locally-owned boutique scene, and rivals those you'll find in nearby Philadelphia's great shopping districts like West Philly, the Gayborhood, and Old city.Previously, I would NEVER have identified as someone who was interested decorative dolls, yet the lens through which Kimberly reimagines traditional collectible dolls is thrilling. Some are joyfully whimsical and others darkly provocative; all make you think and feel in surprising ways. So does Kimberly herself. She'll warmly welcome you to her store, but don't miss the opportunity to get to know her, personally. She's a powerfully engaging person you'll be fortunate to meet.”
“Been getting my curls cut here for about 5(?) years now and I can’t believe it took me this long to write a review bc I adore this salon. Absolutely my favorite place I’ve ever gotten my hair cut and the best, most fun, and most happy my curls have ever looked. Erin is an artist, a genius, and a sweetheart! She has effortlessly translated all the fun hairstyles I’ve wanted to try to the reality of my curl pattern, and is such a great source for information and tips. I’ve had a lot of different short styles done and all of them have grown out really well, which always says a lot to me. If all that wasn’t enough, there’s 2 sweet kitties I always leave feeling fabulous, please do yourself a favor and check it out”
“I’ve had work done by various artists at Central Tattoo Studio over the past few years and have had only positive experiences. Most recently, I’ve had a few pieces done by Evan and can’t say enough good things about him and the overall experience. Not only is Evan incredibly talented, but he’s also down to earth, patient, and conscientious. I especially appreciated how collaborative the process was where I felt like I played a role in shaping the final designs as he brought my visions to life. While I was at the studio, I also observed how friendly and supportive the artists were of one another and each client that was there. I highly recommend Central Tattoo Studio and Evan if you’re looking for a standout tattoo and tattooing experience in the Philly area!”
“My Museum and Food Bestie and I took a Girlcation to Philly. She had discovered this Museum. It was not at all what we were expecting. We went in May 2024. The exhibits and number of floors available for public viewing rotate.
We had previously gone together to the Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum in Carrollton. GA. I think we both thought this would be a very similar set of installations. It was very much not heirloom granny quilts.
When we went every exhibit had a strong LGBTQIA + theme but was inclusive for any viewer. I mainly took photos of Jessica Campbell 's Heterodoxy which runs through June 2, 2024. There are 16 hand-tufted wall coverings. There is a sample block you can touch. There are several tables with chairs that continue the hand-tufted theme which displaying an array of images. This exhibit had a flyer with more information about the images selected by this Toronto Canadian artist.
I wish the other exhibits had flyers of information to take home while digesting the images presented.
The next floor available was interactive and a combination of objects and video by she/her artists Rose and John. There is a final safe space room that is well light and includes a closet of clothes for participants to try on different genders.
Later on our trip I saw a young man with a "Protect Trans Lives" tee shirt. I mentioned the exhibit and Museum to him and his friends. They mentioned they were about to leave Philly but would come back to see this exhibit.
The final exhibit made the least impact on me. Perhaps because I grew up with Filipino Healthcare Professionals for Family and Family Friends the embodiment of caregiver and being cared for didn't really bring me new insight. I do respect that the artist has a different view of the Culture of the Philippines and identifies as a more modern interpretation of Filapinx.”
“Mothership you gallery is so fun and creative! Aaron is super friendly and welcomed us into his store to look around and invited us to the art shows. We are super excited to attend his next event. This is such a unique place. I have never seen a store carry custom toys buy artist before.Absolutely love the wide ranges of styles in all the designs. My son absolutely loves anything and all things zombies and creepy toys. I’m excited to bring him in and have him pick something out to take home.”
“Love love this place! Always trust my hair will look great. Relaxed atmosphere and comfortable/cozy to have an hour to myself chatting with the stylist. I leave feeling confident about my hair.”
“I was looking for a new set up for my Ryan Fitt tube. Taylor helped me get my marble set up for my quave club charmer & I liked it so much I came back the next day because I forgot to pick up the dab rite pro! I appreciated the quick help and he even reminded me I needed the dunk bin for the charmer! It’s nice being only ten minutes from a reliable glass shop! Tons of American glass and the lay out is really nice and spacious too.”
