“For general repairs, recommend. For body work, they're booked 1 month in advance, they don't do full paint jobs on cars, and they never got back to me even after a follow up call to get a quote. Disappointing but par for the course. Who wants to blow up another afternoon getting quotes? Of the 3 shops I visited, only 1 quoted, JDT collision in Phillipsburg.”
“I can not express what an absolute class act Shawn (the owner) is. He is what the world needs more of. He took amazing care of my girlfriend when she was in a most excruciating situation. Answered the phone longe before business hours. Guy got tires FAST and stayed late to get her car up and going. Fellas you know how (some places) will take advantage of the female persuasion when it comes to car repairs. Not here. You've earned a customer. I'm looking forward to getting my next tires. “Had a sudden emergency on the highway where my oil drain cover fell and twisted and began to drag. Was unable to get home. Fortunately was able to make it to their shop. Was pulled over on the side of the road and a number of people stopped as they passed by and recommended this shop. And I'm glad they did. They have a great space and even had an ambulance they were working on. Took care of my problem in no time and were very kind about it especially since they weren't even open at the time.Highly recommended if you need someone who knows what they are doing. “Last week I was staying in the area on business. Over the river in Penn one of my tires met their demise VS a soft shoulder. Although it was the end of the day, Wes (manager) picked up the phone and went to work helping me out. While I waited for AAA (the tire was not going to be repaired as it had a sidewall gash), Wes called around and was able to secure me a well rated replacement tire for an incredible deal (within dollars of an discount online stores' costs, which are pretty discounted as it is) and got it on my car the next day (dismount spare, mount new tire on rim, balance, mount on car). 30-minutes tops securing me a tire, 30 minutes to mount it the next day, super reasonable price. Impressive. His shop is rather awesome inside (cool race feel) and the tech that changed my tire out was really nice and I never felt like a "masshole" around these folks. As I waited, I snapped some photos with my favorite vintage, a '68 Nikon 20mm UD lens. I'm glad awesome people like Wes, his tech and the other folks at Discount Auto Parts and Repair still exist in this world. Next time you are looking for a set or even a single, don't hop online, hop in the car and walk into Discount in Frenchtown. My car broke down the other day and needed a tow, and I didn't have to think twice about where to have it taken. It was a Friday afternoon, so I was not expecting to hear anything till Monday. To my surprise, I was called within about two hours and given a very fair repair price for a broken front axle. “We were on our way to Hershey Park when our 24-year-old CRV started to become overheated. We were able to stop at Patrick’s Automotive. A gentleman named Robert at the station took the time to look out our car, diagnose and explain the possible issues. He spoke with my mechanic over the phone and even took a test drive to test the car. He advised us to go back home to correct the issue. Robert was very kind, patient and honest with us. “Very knowledgeable staff.and super friendly. A family oriented group of fellas. What makes my first experience with them is that the mechanic came in on his day off to finish my truck. As a new customer I was impressed and grateful to this above average service. As a first responder the previous statement is unselfish, vey much appreciated, and putting a volunteer firefighter back to helping the community. They called several times to give me status updates. Hands down by far the best mom and pop shop out there. Better than Mavis or blue moon. Rates are reasonable and won’t break the bank. This group of guys want to do the job right and they did in my book. They fixed a problem that I’ve been chasing for a couple months with a cheap code scanner. Borders employees you are the best. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. They say everyone needs a hero and these guys are mine and yes firefighters have hero’s too haha.”
