They should have the proper name on their store which is Russel Communications. This is not an actual Verizon store. Also charge mandatory $40 for setting up new phone in addition to 35 activation fee on upgrade. Their setting up fee is just putting in password when prompted and sitting in the store for 2 hours.
The sales person was not open with communication and I found about the additional charges right before swiping the card.
Will not recommend this place.

Excellent service! I just switched from another carrier after 30 years . The service is exceptional and the people at the store are just GREAT! Glad I found this gem of a store. The owner is very patient, and the staff is fun to work with! Give them a try.

DO NOT BUY/ TRADE IN ANY IPHONE AT THE SKILLMAN VERIZON STORE (Russel Cellular’s). They are dishonest and make you feel that you’re getting an amazing deal in the moment. So while you may get some kind of deal it is most certainly not the one they promote/ the one you think you agree to.
My family recently had this very experience when my parents went into change their phone plan. By changing to this “new phone plan” we were supposably saving a lot of money and with that got an additional promotion that made all of our phones worth $1000 (we all have different iphones; some older than others so this should have been the 1st RED FLAG). We were told that $1000 would be applied to any new iPhone we got through trade in. The only potential cost we would incur would be any taxes/ fees and or if the phone price was higher than $1000. Fair enough you would think. You would be wrong.
The manager at the store made us feel falsely secure even going as far as to call another location to procure the iphone quicker. He emphasized that it would cost us almost nothing to trade it in and get an upgrade in the process. Sadly he failed to actually tell us the full extent of the Verizon promotion. I also never received any sort of receipt which now looking back feels even more suspicious.
We only found out that we had been mislead when the Verizon bill came in a few days later stating we would have to continue to pay an absurd amount of money towards our presumably paid off phones for the next 3 years. This obviously came as a shock. We ended up having to call corporate Verizon to try understand the real promotion and get this whole situation resolved. The corporate customer service rep. was highly apologetic and stated how these authorized Verizon sellers (Russel Cellular's in this case) are not a company Verizon stores and thus there’s not much they can do.
Although the new monthly payments we will have to incur are obviously upsetting, it is even more disheartening to know that a local business is selling products on false half truths. Other recent reviews seem to suggest this sort of thing has been happening…. STOP + DO BETTER PLEASE!!!

I had to take the time to submit a review for Brandon Chuttoo, manager of the Verizon store in Skillman, NJ. He helped me reduce my monthly bill by over $80. He was patient to a fault and knowledgeable. I had stopped going to this store because of the previous manager but I will now only use a store where Brandon works.

Brandon and Shay at Verizon Skillman were professional and kind. They helped me with my account reorganization and helped us replace a broken phone efficiently. Employees like Brandon and Shay are the reason why we stay with Verizon.
