“I went to Randolph transmission expecting to need a couple thousand dollars worth of transmission work done, based on the symptoms I was experiencing. After a test ride with Dave, he was not sure the problem was transmission related. He used his scan tool to determine that the issue was actually just a bad coil pack. He advised me to head to an auto parts store and get a new coil pack. He even took the time to pinpoint which coil was bad. A half an hour and a hundred bucks later, problem solved! Dave is a man with integrity. He’s focused on helping not just making money. I highly recommend him.”

“Where do I begin? I picked up a project 07 Monte Carlo ss that I knew needed a transmission rebuild. Rob was very familiar with the parts that needed to be upgraded in the 4t65e which is prone to failing in these cars and gave me a very fair price on all the work they did. They changed several axles and mounts which all needed to be fixed as well and were very diligent with their work. The result is the car is the car is running like a brand new 07 ss and shifting very smooth in all gears. Puts a huge smile on my face every time I drive it. Thank you Rob and team for the awesome job you did on this car!”
“I've had years of dealing with fluid leaks from my 2006 Honda V-6 2dr cpe. After I moved this summer(2023) to Plainfield, inquiries at service stations and auto parts stores led me to Sal's Fanwood Auto Transmissions. Three leaks, one requiring dropping the transmission to replace a seal, were cured. All repairs were within estimates that were well below others offered "back down south." I'll add it was a pleasure doing business there and talking with Sal and "the crew."”

The person inspected it and told me that it should be fine (she explained that she didn't see any liner from the spot) and that I don't need to do any work. “Unfortunately my transfer case broke one night on my way home from work in mid September 2021. I had AAA tow it to a local shop. That guy didn’t have the capability to fix it so he sent it to a well known franchise transmission shop who’s initials are LM. Well LM gave me a quote of $3000 to fix the broken transfer case with a 30 day guarantee! Me not knowing much about cars knew that was a very bad deal. I then reached out to my cousin who works at a Chevrolet dealership (I have a Chevy) to see if I could purchase the part from him. I could but with the supply chain issue, the part wouldn’t be available until mid November (a 2 month wait). I relayed this message to LM and he told me I had to have my car towed back to my house until the part came in. Problem with that is I don’t have driveway parking and wouldn’t be able to move the car if needed (such as for the never ending street repairs or snow). I asked him to give me a day to figure out what I could do. The next day I got very busy and didn’t get to figure something out. Late afternoon, LM called and said he had put my car on the street and in Union where he is located, there is no overnight parking so the car will be impounded. I googled “Transmission Shops” and found Dr. Marv’s. He had great reviews so I called him. I explained about the 2 month wait for the part and asked if he would be able to store my car. They said yes and couldn’t have been nicer! So I had the car towed to Dr. Marv’s! More supply chain issues and my part didn’t come in until the end of January 2022. I kept Dr. Marv’s informed of this. As soon as the part was received by them, my car was fixed a day later! Not only did they do a terrific job but between the cost of the new part and the installation by Dr. Marv’s, my cost was far less than the $3000 quote from the other transmission shop! I would highly, highly, highly recommend Dr. Marv’s!Service: Transmission”

W/ basic common sense you'll see what a hard working mechanic he is, a mechanic not out for money but takes your safety into consideration as well. Parts take time, as we all know if you want good work done it takes diligence. Looking for a quick fix take it to mavis or pepboys, they'll be happy to keep milking you while doing the bare minimum to keep you coming back.”
“Our Ford Taurus 2005 AC didn’t work. They got us in right away and told us we needed to recharge the AC and refill the coolant. We then also noticed a leak that needed another part. He offered to order the part for us, and I asked if we could buy it somewhere and bring it back so we could get the car done the same day. He called a shop to see if the part was in, and then actually sent one of his guys to go get the part for us. When the guy came back he put the part in for us and then was just gonna charge us for the part $13 , but we paid a bit extra because they went and got it for us so we could get the car back same day. I was extremely pleased with the service and value. I highly reccommend them for service but the gas price is high. Ask for Ako”
“Took my mercury villager for transmission problems. Was clearly told that $50 will be charged for inspection. After inspection they recommended complete transmission rebuild and an estimate of $1800-2100. No push.
I did not take the service as the vehicle is too old for this luxury, but the experience was not bad.
They can improve on having an office where they admit your vehicle in a formal way and give receipt for that.
But I liked staffs, they are honest.”
