The Riviera Hotel, now known as Newark Emergency Housing, offers a range of services and amenities to assist the local homeless community. The building itself is well-maintained, with clean and spacious rooms. While some areas could use minor improvements, the overall experience is positive, with helpful and pleasant staff. The hotel's proximity to various stores and its convenient location make it a valuable resource for those in need. The facility is operated by Catholic charities, who employ dedicated individuals committed to supporting the community. Despite a few isolated incidents, the majority of reviews highlight the Riviera's ability to provide a safe and comfortable environment for its residents.
All I know is they're housing transient people who need all the help they can get. Wish they got everything they needed to provide the best care, but the best care isn't a real thing. It was something I imagined. At least they have a place to be. Sometimes, that alone has to be enough.

Rating is based from 2019-2020 experience. Decent price. Rooms are ok but the bathrooms are a bit crude. No smoking rooms either makes little sense to me. Other than that it's ok.
