“I'm into my eighth decade on this rock and have thus been to dozens of auto repair shops with various vehicles. Top Line Auto Care takes me back to when auto repair garages and mechanics were EXACTLY that. No fancy bells and whistles, just a good shop with competent staff and mechanics. Having a desk clerk handle the non-wrench part of the business is a big plus, for the boss and us customers.
This was my first visit to Top Line after being recommended by a friend who had an engine replaced. I brought my daughter's car in for diagnosis of an issue and appraisal of what to do with it. They even squeezed it in just ahead of going on vaycay! The car was inspected, the problem found, repair process explained and price quoted. I green-lighted the work and later that day it was fixed good as new at the bottom line I was quoted. How often does THAT happen today??

“I went to 3 different transmission shops before deciding on this shop! I'll start with this: the difference in price from this shop to the highest quote I got was $6,145. The difference in price to the second shop was $2,400! Needless to say, this shop is very affordable! Second, Mike (I believe is the owner) great communication, flexibility, explanation of everything and accommodating. Sean (I think this is how you spell it), the mechanic was very knowledgeable, answered all my questions, gave his professional opinion and advised us on what to do as far as caring for the transmission going forward. I highly recommend this shop or at least go speak to them before making a final decision! 5 STARS! I'll be taking my mom's car there and my boss is also in line for taking his car there soon.”

“Amazing place amazing people, I was on the phone with them for a week or two leading up to it. Always amazing to talk to. Cassandra was incredible very informative and never had a problem answering my questions. To top it off my car was in monday with a bad trans out Wednesday with a fully rebuilt trans with. A 3 year warranty. I couldn't be happier if you need any help with a transmission this is 1000% the place for you. They will make you feel comfortable knowing you have your vechile in the right place. Also they offer financing. I will be going here for my future automotive needs.”

“I can't speak on their work because they don't work on the specific problem I had. However, what I can speak to is how honest they are, and how quick and easy it was to get to the bottom of things. And if anyone feels concerned about trusting mechanics, which is common, they understand how important it is to be able to feel comfortable with them, and to feel like the experience was easy and to the point. They weren't able to help with this, but they gave me good reason to go back for other services they do handle, and I already sent my girlfriend to them, and her experience was just as good.”
“My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Aamco Transmissions & Total Car Care in Metuchen. After having been totally ignored for 3 days at a local dealer and sadly realizing our car needed a transmission, I read the great reviews about Craig at Aamco and believed good things must be happening there. We had our car towed there and were so happy we did. Once we contacted Craig at Aamco, our situation changed dramatically. Craig was extremely responsive, did an immediate diagnostic test and clearly explained what needed to be done. His price was very fair. His staff THOROUGHLY looked over the car, found a few things that also needed fixing and did them without charging us extra. We couldn't be happier. “Dave has been very upfront about all the problems going on with my vehicle, and didn't try and encourage me to fix more than what I wanted done. Also went above and beyond making a small adjustment to fix an annoying problem with my door at no extra cost; I definitely recommend this mechanic for anyone in the area, as they have direct ties with quality parts, as well as great rates. My car has never driven smoother (seriously)!

“I've had years of dealing with fluid leaks from my 2006 Honda V-6 2dr cpe. After I moved this summer(2023) to Plainfield, inquiries at service stations and auto parts stores led me to Sal's Fanwood Auto Transmissions. Three leaks, one requiring dropping the transmission to replace a seal, were cured. All repairs were within estimates that were well below others offered "back down south." I'll add it was a pleasure doing business there and talking with Sal and "the crew."”

“I cannot overstate how grateful I am for Matawan Auto. I had been to 5 + different shops in the area. They had over-priced the job or or were deceitful in other ways. When I was finally referred to Leo at Matawan Auto, he gave me a great price, was able to get my car right in, and got the job done very quickly.
