“Stayed in one of the rooms this past weekend. Had a truly relaxing time however...the photo of the room im adding was why we chose to stay but...the room decor was the most uninviting decor. The shower tile is rough and just showing its age. The bedding was maroon and gold the scratched side tables just made the room so blah. Staff was great, the basket breakfast was delicious, dinner at the inn was terrific. Just think of the room care.”

“Historic Smithville Barn lodging was on point. Our family wanted to try something different this year to celebrate Christmas, and Historic Smithville was on our list. The charming village truly resembles a Hallmark movie and did not fall short of that expectation. Staying at the Barn felt safe and cozy. The only drawback was the lack of activities on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. All shops and eateries closed by 3 PM on Christmas Eve, and nothing was open on Christmas Day, so planning ahead is important. The Wi-Fi worked well, there was plenty of parking, and security cameras were discreetly placed throughout the exterior areas, which added to the sense of safety. The bathroom tub didn’t drain very well, but it didn’t spoil our family fun. One suggestion for improvement: it would be very helpful if the establishment provided a plan view or map with room numbers clearly marked, so guests could see which rooms they are booking. We wanted to reserve a room with a front porch but couldn’t determine which room numbers corresponded to those rooms. Other reviewers mentioned breakfast—yes, it’s provided, but the selection is limited to muffins or croissants. Overall, it was a memorable and cozy experience for our family, especially if you’re looking for a peaceful and picturesque getaway.”

“Everything at Smithville was wonderful except for the rather obnoxious music coming from a wedding reception nearby. Completely support weddings and marriage. However, the music was overwhelming that took so much away from what would have have been a five star experience. Especially wonderful was the exemplary service we received from Ryan, our waiter. All of our courses were very excellently prepared, and served in timely fashion, and were memorably delicious.”
