“Over 10 years as a customer now, so probably a fair amount of time to give a review. tldr: Hilltop is an excellent bike shop.
The team has expertly serviced so many of my bikes and my friends' that I've lost count. They stock a great range of quality bikes, bike parts, and accessories that they stand behind and can help you get started with. When there's time, they may also suggest local routes and rides they've enjoyed. During the warm months, they host fantastic bike events that bring the community together. They have multiple locations in the area, and all are convenient to both drive and take public transit to. All the locations meet the same high standards of selection and service. Hilltop has been a tremendously helpful and positive part of my life, and if you're looking for a bike shop, I highly recommend them.”

“Needed a part in a pinch. Checked the online inventory and noticed the Morristown store had the item in stock that I needed. A major online retailer had same part at a higher price and it would take several days to get there. Headed to the store and oicked up the item and willl be back on the road. With several locations, it good to know that all the stores are locally owned and happy to support local businesses.”
“I had a completely enjoyable experience working with Montclair Bikery to service and tune up a bike I haven't rode in two years. I was worried they would be hesitant to take it because it is a foreign bike. Check-in could not have been smoother. I was presented with many options, and clear and transparent pricing. They were able to turn it around in a week, in what appeared to be a busy time for them. The technician who called to let me know the bike was ready was extremely friendly and excited about the work they performed. And picking up the bike and paying was a breeze. “Finding Arland was the greatest thing to possibly happen for my triathlon development. I bought a second hand used tri bike and didn’t really know where to start with fitting, so I originally tried fitting it myself. I thought my fit was ok, but figured I should see a fitter. Arland has done so much with my bike and has tailored it to my body perfectly, and has made this bike actually comfortable! Didn’t even think that was possible. He also has helped with my cycling technique and shoe fit for the bike. Truly great at his craft!”

“I ordered a new bike on Amazon to surprise my wife for Mother’s Day. I visited the shop for a front break. Since I put the bike together myself he did a once over and adjusted everything needed free of charge.
He is knowledgeable, friendly, and his bikes have been used in movies. I highly recommend his shop for all your bike needs.”
“Over the decades, I have likely purchased 8 bikes at Jay's but none in the last 15-20 years as the kids aged out and the two of ours are still good. Brought a vintage 1992 Tommasini racer I was gifted for rehab as gears were not working and no longer wanted lock-in pedals (bike had not been ridden in 25-30 years). Replaced cables, installed new pedals, adjusted rear derailer and a few other repairs. Everything worked perfectly, done when promised and at the cost estimated when dropped off. I bought my own tires and tubes, putting them on a few weeks prior- in hindsight, should have let Jay's do it. Took way too long, a hassle and likely didn't save much, if anything.”

“Great place to rent an EBike... People are friendly & Paper work & pick up was easy... I have knees (quads) issue and went on vacation to Cape May where my friends love to bike... The EBike help out so I can enjoy biking again... Got my exercise to help my knees but had the power of the EBike when I needed it... Will be renting from them again or will be purchasing one soon...”
