I Went to this place after calling ahead of time to buy FROZEN pasteles en hoja, I have to say I felt a little bit profiled, maybe because on a rainy day I was dressed all black, rain jacket my choice. They don't do this at Walmart or whole foods for example, I felt the same guy passing by me twice while giving me the looks all this while I was making the line to pay for the pasteles at the kitchen , after paying for the pasteles first then picked them up at their staffed walk-in in fridge where I showed the receipt and they handed me the pasteles I was stopped at the front by the same guy and his manager/supervisor where they were asking me to pay for the pasteles I told them I already pay for the at the back/kitchen, 3 stars for the pasteles being ok, 0 stars for the treatment and being charged $2.75 each pastel on the receipt as (hot food) but they were frozen, mind me I really wanted them frozen but also be charge as frozen food not hot food.

I don’t like that we need to leave our backpacks at the front. ShopRite and Walmart doesn’t do this.

City Fresh Market, we need to have a talk. Nothing terrible, nothing tense, but a sincere, heart to heart, one on one. Holding hands. I am new to Union City. I lived in nearby Jersey City for 20 years, but house hunting brought me here, and I so far, love it. I love being steps away from Bergenline Avenue and where I can pick and choose markets to buy my produce and fish from. You could not ask for a better place to live in. Now, I get it. The rent is high. Prices are through the roof. However, how can you believably charge 12$ for a one-gallon Tropicana OJ, pulp, no pulp, or drowning in pulp? When I saw the price, and note that this was on a late night (a big plus for you to be open 24 hours, which softens the blow), I figured, well -- no one else is open, let's get it. You see, I figured, this must be a special type of Tropicana OJ. I applied it on my skin to see if it rejuvenated me. Nope. Citric acid removes some skin roughness in the elbows -- not this one. I even attempted to see if applying a smidgen of a 12$ gallon of Tropicana to a glass of vodka and bitters would somehow make the taste go pop! with a zing!, but nope. City Market, I was let down. I was left abandoned, betrayed, and reenacted "The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant" which burned my newly renovated engineered hardwood floor and left a mark, like Cain, glaring at me, telling me, "You should have gone to Trader Joes!" And it's not just the Tropicana OJ. Even the Glad Tupperware was overpriced. Honeycrisp apples for 3.49 each? Did I hallucinate that? I hope I did. Normally I would get about 10 at any other location, but this time, I had to tearfully settle for a mere three and sob my way to the cashiers. Still, all is not lost. What it lacks in pricing (and note, not all of their prices are in the clouds), it does bowl me over with its ambiance. I have yet to try their buffet and eatery, which everyone has told me is "da bomb." [Of course, I shall be the authority on that once I apply tastebuds to food.] It looks pretty upscale and nifty (if a little tight in size), staff is beyond friendly, and the overall experience plus its "always open" availability is a major plus. I don't yet know if it delivers; the site states that one can place an order online, so that remains to be seen. I will be returning, of course, but only to procure items that are priced evenly with other locations. And my wrinkles have not gone yet, so that 12$ Tropicana and I have since parted ways (Its plastic carcass is on its way to a recycling plant and I, well... remain disappointed).

Found everything that a grocery store should have. Felt it a little pricey. Meat is not fresh. They have live crabs. The liquor store is a separate section. Deli is available. Open 24/7.

First time visiting after a food recommendation of a local friend. They have pre-prepared buffet style Latin food. DELICIOUS! But what they have the best is their people. I accidentally parked in one of the two parking lots available. The one where all the delivery trucks and vans are. I thought I might had it wrong since the customer parking was closest to the entrance, but it was fine and I got in to eat. While I was selecting my amazing huge and delicious ribs with “longaniza locrio”, they called my name through the speakers. I didn’t pay attention to it since it was my first time there, might have been someone with a similar name. When I was at the register I told the very nice lady there if I could pay with Apple Pay since I must have forgotten my wallet in the car. And of course they have the service. I decided to wash my hands before eating in one of the nice tables they have available inside and outside the supermarket and I was directed to customer service to get the key for the very clean restrooms. As a joke, I told another nice lady there if there’s someone named like me that they were calling on the speakers and she immediately got the manager saying “we found him”. I still thought this was some mistake. The manager cordially asked me for an ID and I happen to have a copy of my drivers license in my phone pictures album. Guess what? Someone found my wallet next to my car at the parking lot. All my cards and the physical drivers license there. It made me Look at my day in a different perspective. How proud I am of my Hispanic community. This place will see me more often. I thank them for their honesty and diligence. Plus, everyone inside this amazing market had a smile to give and that is precious. Thank you. God bless you and may your business strive forevermore.

City fresh does not live by its name. Purchased tortillas yesterday, they looked fine. After taking the first two tortillas off, discovered the entire package has mold in it. They do not check their inventory’s expiration as well as they should.

I love that this place is open 24/7. It helps when you work overnight always so you are used to sleeping in the day and can shop at night. I really hope they're profitable so they can keep being open 24/7. Great staff, lots of products, I really like this place.

Five times over the past few months I saw green mold spots on the individual packaged servings of cheesecake at the buffet, every time I point it out to a member of staff, but it's a recurring problem, either the dessert buffet isn't cold enough or these items aren't suitable for sale in this way; better kept frozen, it seems nobody inspects the cheesecake when they're putting out as that amount of mold doesn't appear in a short time. I'd speak to a manager but never seen one.I only go here for the organic pasture raised eggs. Massive selection of food available.
