WORST MOVING EXPERIENCE EVER — AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Expert Movers of Union City, NJ. This company is a complete disaster, from top to bottom — unreliable, dishonest, and completely unprofessional.
I hired them to move half a garage of boxes from New Jersey to Florida, and the entire process was a nightmare. Boxes were picked up over a month before I planned to be in Florida, under the understanding that delivery could take up to 21 days. I made it clear — I had only a 3-day window to accept delivery. I provided those three specific dates, reiterated them multiple times, and was assured it would not be an issue.
As we got closer, I tried to reconfirm the delivery date. That's when they dropped a bombshell: “We have 21 days from your first available date to deliver.” That’s not what the salesperson promised me. And even worse — my boxes didn’t arrive until a week AFTER my available window, which completely derailed my plans.
Customer service, specifically Jennifer, was a nightmare to deal with. She saw my number and refused to answer my calls. Let me say that again: She actively ignored me during a time-sensitive, expensive move. She only responded via email — useless when time is of the essence. And the one time I got her on the phone, I was understandably upset. The delay in delivery affected other vendors, such as the electrician scheduled to mount TVs and install lighting, who now had nothing to work with. My area rugs didn’t arrive in time to be laid down before the furniture delivery, causing more issues. And yes, flights are expensive, and I had to fly back without my items.
To top it off, the driver never called a day in advance as promised. Instead, the morning of delivery, I had to chase down Jennifer (again, no call — just a delayed email with the driver's number), and the driver casually told me he’d be there in 45 minutes. I had to scramble!
This was an infuriating, disrespectful, and completely disorganized experience. The sales rep lied, customer service ignored me, and the delivery process was a complete mess.
Expert Movers? More like Expert Nightmares.
Avoid them at all costs.

They are scammers. They quote you one price and it’s totally different when your stuff arrives. A move from Nj to Ga ended up costing me 6k for a one bedroom apartment . Do Not USE this company. I was also told its was not a third party moving company . Totally was . I spoke with Bobby he is a scammer . After the transaction you could not get in touch with him . Do not use this company .They also damaged some of my stuff and stole my drill .

This is the worst moving company ever. They destroyed 50% of my stuff and a lot of missing items , they fight you every step of the way..and are the rudest inconsiderate people!! If I could have rated them worse it would be a -10 charter van lines uses them .. stay away from both of you care about your stuff and your respect

Would not recommend this place to anyone. Bait and Switch. It's referred by a 3rd Party. Price was underestimated and we had to pay $2k more. Movers did not deliver on time. The movers they referred were good with my stuff but had bad customer services and did not know how to calculate the payment correctly although it was their fault. Both companies caused a lot of anxiety and stress. Will be reporting to everyone that is willing to listen.

Worst moving company I have ever worked with. Jennifer has the worst attitude I’ve ever worked with, and they hide feeds everywhere. They showed up a day late at 11pm. It took a month to get my stuff, and 50% of my glassware is broken. They offered no refund. They refused to get close to the building and charged me $300 extra for a “long carry” when they easily could have gotten closer.

The worst moving company by far I've ever dealt with in my life! Upon pick up of my items my price jumped 400$ based on miscellaneous items like a shovel and a mop but it gets better smh. My items not only arrived a week late but was also charged an additional 400$ for a shuttle service because my items were on a 18 wheeler and it wouldn't fit in my complex. Then to top it off I was forced to call the police because they refused to bring up an item because it was "impossible to bring up with only two people". The absolute worst and I've already reported them to the BBB so this is just a warning for anyone in the future considering going with them! DO NOT HIRE THEM!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!! Fair warning to all! They stole all of my good jewelry. When I called to report it, they just brushed it off, saying “call the insurance company and they will send you a check”. If I could give negative stars, I would. I hired them to move me from CT to FL - worst mistake ever! As others stated, the original price quoted jumped up over $2,000 despite giving them the exact measurements of my storage units. They were very rude and unprofessional, and when I filed a claim to be reimbursed for my stolen goods, they of course denied it. When I tried to call and dispute it, they don’t answer the phone, nor can you leave a message, as the recording just hangs up. I am heartbroken over the jewelry, as much of it was sentimental in value. They didn’t care. The worst company I have ever dealt with! Please look elsewhere if you value your items.

Horrible! Never hire them! They broke my Samsung 65inch curved tv even I paid extra for the wapping. They were missing my Samsung 42inch TV. They lost my winter jackets(value$2000). They were missing one of my bar stool. They made scratch of my upright piano. Of course, they appeared on the moving day and raised $2000 more from my original quote. Also, they said they can keep my stuff in their storage for more than 60 days if I pay extra. But all of sudden, they called me when my stuff was in their storage about 40days, they said they can’t keep my stuff. They wanted me to get my stuff even before 60 days because they are out of space! Lastly, I was trying to fill out the insurance claim, their name was not legally registered and the customer service never called me back.

You go first through a broker that promises you quick delivery only to have your stuff sitting in a warehouse for weeks while you sit in an empty house and they take your money. Communication is bad and they treat you like nothing. They say beginning of the week and it turns out the end of the week and that is not even a guarantee. They push this 21 day to deliver a little to far. Even when you call they do not answer the phone in a professional manner.

Using Experts Movers union services has been a good experience. Everyone was polite and very helpful from the front office to the movers. They were efficient and quite knowledgeable. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to my family and friends.

Doubled the price on Move Day. Needed $2400 extra, half in cash. The man in charge of paperwork tried to get me to sign blank forms. When I told him I needed it to be filled out first, he said that the process was to get it signed first. I explained that I was sorry, and I'm sure that he meant no harm, but it would not be responsible of me to do. He was unbelievably rude and condescending and said if I don't trust him it's going to be a hard move.Soon after, the same man knocked over and broke a large framed family picture. He later said I was going to "have to pay a premium" to put it on the truck. It was very obvious he just didn't want to be responsible for breaking it, and potentially did it on purpose as he was very angry that I didn't "trust" him.The sales person prepped me to receive my shipment in 5-7 days. It's twenty days later and I still do not have my belongings. Every day I call and they usually do not answer the phone. When I get ahold of them, they say the truck driver is "loading today" and should be there in 3-5 days.UPDATE: Has been twenty five days, each time I speak to a manager, the employees "transfer" me, which results in us disconnecting.

Very good experience here. They came in way below where my prior mover was quoting me so I went with them, and boy did I get lucky. Jennifer and Claire in the main office were very helpful throughout the process, and the movers themselves were great as well. They were on time, had a great attitude and were cool, friendly guys (especially considering like everyone else I went way over my expected box allotment). I moved cross country from NYC to Chicago and got my stuff in under a week, and everything was generally very well intact. The movers who moved me in on the back end were just as pleasant as the ones who moved me out (one of them amazingly was one of the same guys who moved me out in NYC). The one thing I’d highlight that was a little strange is the payment structure. I liked doing 1/3 1/3 1/3 upfront, at the time of the initial move and then the last 1/3 at the time of the move in, but the inability to use a credit card for each part was a little weird to me (you could use a credit card for free on the initial payment, but for the second payment you got hit with a 4% fee, so Venmo was encouraged, and then cash or a post office money order was required to get my stuff off the truck on the back end in Chi). Apparently this is standard but it was a little weird to me, especially the part about Venmo-ing a random dude who’s Twitter handle was CryptoAl. So despite my being a little worried about all that stuff, everything worked out very well, and almost as good as it could have. Overall, would highly recommend.

These movers were outstanding. They arrived on time, had a good work ethic and were super easy to communicate with. They made my move stress-free, which is truly priceless. Definitely hiring them again!
