very thin walls, a huge number of dubious people in the corridor, lack of hot water in the shower. It's better to choose another place to spend the night

The hotel is located in Union City and is connected to Manhattan by buses, but you need your own tickets; the MetroCard does not work there. Depending on traffic, you can get to Times Square in about 15-20 minutes. You will receive an email with the door or room code (However, the door lock was forcibly removed towards the end of the week and the door was only hanging on its hinges. I was glad that my room wasn't directly on the ground floor...) . There is also a telephone number and an email address that you can contact if you have any questions or emergencies. The phone number cannot be reached and despite multiple attempts, no one responds to the emails. I booked a room for a week and even though there was a room service tip bag in the room, room service wasn't there once the entire week. Which would have been fine, but I would have liked at least an exchange of towels. The "office hours" are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., which is absolutely underground for people who come to New York to see something. However, since I needed new towels, I waited until 9:00 one day and luckily found someone in the basement who gave me new towels and, upon request, a hairdryer.
The room itself is equipped with a refrigerator. The air conditioning sometimes switches back on automatically at night even though it was previously switched off, which meant that it was extremely cold and drafty, especially on the first night. There is one bathroom on each floor. If it was occupied, you could easily switch to other floors. The whole house is very noisy and echoes, which probably makes it sound louder than it actually is, so don't forget earplugs.
Only 3 stars due to the poor "office opening hours" and the complete ignoring of calls and emails.

I am uploading a photo of Room 1, a single room XL room that I could not find anywhere. They said they had a desk where they could work, but that was a lie. The location isn't bad. But everything else sucks. Especially if you are a woman, it is very unsuitable (you can see the inside of the room through the mirror from outside)
The single room is in front of the roadside window on the first floor, so there is a lot of traffic noise, and the area right in front is probably a place where local people gather, so it is very noisy. There is no soundproofing at all.
Rather, go to Airbnb with similar prices and good reviews.
It's New Jersey, so a round trip to and from New York is $8. It also doesn't count toward the $34 per week cap.
I recommend finding a roommate and staying at a nearby two-bedroom Secaucus hotel.
You can hear people coming and going, and the single room is right in front of the bathroom and front door, so you can hear all the noise. Earplugs are required.
The road to New York in the morning is extremely congested.

The hotel doesn’t let one check in, despite having paid. Huge scam, would urge to stay away

We stayed 10 days in this “Hotel” because we call it a hotel and not a pension, they gave us a room that was very far from the ones that appear in the manipulated images, a tiny room, without a practicable window, a bed that looked like a mattress, dirt everywhere you wanted looking, outside and inside the bed itself (including hair and food remains), noises and voices at all hours...I could continue like this but I better stop.
Apart from all this, the pension is more focused on workers and people with low resources, social benefits and problems, I do not advise at all if you are a tourist, you will avoid uncomfortable and problematic situations, there are hotels in the heart of Manhattan with much better features and the same price . If you still decide to stay, you should know that the bus stop is just a few minutes from the pension to go to New York, but the round trip will cost you $8 p/p.
Tip: Don't come back to the hotel too late.
Luck.
Rooms: Nothing corresponds to the images described on their website.
Nearby activities: From little to none
Safety: Relative
Food and drinks: Good

Arrival not at the address indicated on the reservation confirmation email, we receive us in a storage room!! Already the first point is not serious!!! You have to walk to get to the address of the room alone because there are no indications, no room service, constant noise in the corridors, shared toilets always dirty!!! To flee!!!!!

Rooms worse than a prison, smells of smoke and marijuana everywhere, tiny rooms without even a place to put our suitcases, we left after one night and not only were we not offered any type of refund but they didn't even respond to my request complaint email in which I explained why we left, stay away from this place if you don't want to ruin your holiday

We made a reservation via booking, the photos and the price were very good... but surprise on arrival. We changed hotels because it is not possible to sleep in a “filthy” place.

I thought it was a very good place, I stayed here because of the price and the truth is that staying in NY can cost double or more, I preferred to save money on accommodation. It is close to time square and you can buy 10 tickets to save. It costs more or less 3 dollars one way (3.5 if you pay each time). It takes little time to arrive. I recommend renting a room with a half or full bathroom since the bathroom is not always clean. The neighborhood is good and quiet, the staff is attentive. Regarding noise, it is true that if you have a noisy neighbor it can be a bit dull since there is poor insulation. If you are there, go see a sunset at the river. It's very nice and you can walk there.

Good place, not very comfortable but it is in a good location, one block from public transportation, 25 minutes from Manhattan, located in a very quiet place, with a pharmacy and store nearby

The hotel is well located near bus station and 15mn to times square by bus or car. The problem is the hygiene and found the place not clean at all. We might have good pictures but the smell ..oh my God. Just when you open the main door there is a horrible smell coming from room 1. 1 bathroom and one shower per floor( each floor has maybe 7 rooms). My stay was from 29 Dec to Jan 2. I left on the first.
