They don't answer the phone. How am I supposed to make an appointment if they don't answer the phone? This female voice answered me and say to hold and hung up on me right away. Gave it a few minutes and been trying to call again but they just send me to voicemail. I guess some people are just miserable with their jobs.

I have been with Union City Animal Clinic for 6 years. In the beginning I was satisfied. However, the wait times increased, and when I called in the winter of 2023, the oncall service, no one responded or got back to me. The wait time is ridiculous - over an hour and a half. DO NOT make an appointment if you cannot keep the appointment. I cannot waste a day taking my dog to the vet for vaccines, and wait nearly 2 hours without being seen. There is little contrition, and it is obvious they value their time way more than the dog or owners. When you finally see a vet, and IF your dog has a problem (mine was limping) the vet did nothing but prescribe 5 pills. I would not waste your time or money on this practice. They are truly the WORST!

Stay away! Took my dog to get his rabies shot and my dog left the office limping. They said it would go away. 2 months later it's gotten worst. I go back to them and they start denying that it was them and now want to charge me so they can check out my dog that they hurt. Since I have to pay. I will be taking him to a real vet and have them check the damage Union City Animal Clinic did. Aside from the damage, it stinks like cat in there as they roam around freely upsetting others animals in waiting area. So if you're allergic to cats, also stay away.

I recently had a terrible experience at Union City Animal Clinic and wanted to share my disappointment with others. While I have been a loyal customer for four years and received excellent service from Dr. Zalis, I can no longer tolerate the poor treatment I received from Mabel, one of their employees. In the past, I have observed her rude behavior towards customers over the phone and in person but I did not say anything because dr zalis . During my last visit, Mabel yelled at me when I asked her how much longer I would have to wait, even though I had already waited for an hour with my two pets. This type of behavior is unacceptable and unprofessional. As a customer, I do not expect to be treated this way, especially when I am paying for a service. My cat was scared and needed quick attention, but instead, I was mistreated by one of the clinic's employees. After this experience, I have lost confidence in the clinic and have decided to seek another place for the care of my pets. I have included a list of negative comments I found on Google and Yelp regarding Mabel's poor service and how it is affecting the clinic's reputation. I hope that appropriate measures will be taken to address this problem and ensure that customers receive quality service. Union City Animal Clinic needs to address Mabel's rude behavior towards customers, as it is affecting their reputation and driving away customers. I hope that my feedback will be taken seriously and that the necessary steps will be taken to improve their customer service.

I took my 13 year old cattle dog/ Pitt mix here for a tumor removal. Dr. Zalis and staff were excellent! I am pleased with the outcome. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. After getting a very high quote for the very same procedure at my usual vet, i decided to shop around. My bill was a properly priced with Union City Animal Clinic. Their prices are very reasonable. I will return for any other procedures my fur son needs in the future.

I wish I could give UCAC zero stars. My dog had a routine surgery --because of circumstances beyond my control, this surgery happened at a vet's office about 70 minutes from jersey city. They said after 2 weeks, I could go to my regular vet to have the sutures removed. No problem! I called UCAC and explained the entire situation and they assured me over the phone that I didn't need an appointment and to just call 15 mins before I arrived to let them know I was coming. Fast forward to this morning, I tried calling 3 times, but got the answering machine each time. I showed up around 9:45am. It's so hard to park here btw, so I just pull up in front and put my hazards on. I walk in and explain the situation again to the ladies at the front desk. They are visibly annoyed with me that I didn't have an appointment, but tell me to sit down and wait. My dog is very stressed out, I am 6 months pregnant and I have my six year old with me. After about an hour and 15 mins at 11am, I ask if it's going to be much longer and get, "I don't know". No eye contact, nothing. Another 30 minutes go by and I let them know that I have a prenatal appointment that I couldn't miss and I had to leave by noon to get there on time. They said, I don't know how much longer. I sit back down and start to cry, because at this point, I am just so frustrated. My daughter who has been so patient, is also getting ancy. The nicer of the two women looks at me and says, "hold on, let me see what I can do" and goes in the back but never follows up with me. At 11:45am I ask if I could come back later in the day, because I couldn't miss my doctors appointment. They were so rude. "No you can't come back later, but you could give us a call if you want". Excuse me? So I ask if I can just make an appointment for later in the week (it's Monday). "No, we have no appointments available for this week. This is literally something that takes 5 minutes for a vet tech (don't even need an actual doctor) to do and if the staples are left in too long, it could be a serious health risk. I lose it. Those pregnancy hormones kick in and I am now yelling. I ask for my dog's chart, because I won't be returning again, and they refused to give it to me and said "we'll call when the records are ready". I'm so happy to never have to go back to this place again, but now have to deal with trying to get my dogs medical records. Every time, whether you have an appointment or not, the wait is 3+ hours long. It's a disgusting office and the staff is beyond rude. No one appears to even enjoy people or animals. They clearly shouldn't be working in this field. Take your business elsewhere and save yourself the trouble of dealing with them! ***Later today, I went to a different local vet that I had never been to before, and I was in and out in 20 minutes and the suture removal was free of charge. What a difference!

I usually don't write reviews but THIS is the exception . The light skin girl in the front with the tattoos , if I recall she's Cuban is extremely rude and miserable . While sitting there waiting to be seen I witnessed her slamming the phone on customers countless times . She's just a nasty person . The other girl in the front that sits with the cat is a sweetheart, made me feel at ease . The other one should try being more professional, definitely shouldn't be working with people .

This is now the second appointment cancelled and they will not even provide a realistic reschudle. The receptionist told me it was my incredibly rude and literally hung up on me when I asked her to be professional.

I used to love this place, however it has ultimately went downhill and not currently worth the headache and frustration. They ruined not one..but TWO appointments, have strung me along all while my dogs are in need of shots and services. The actual final straw was the absolute disgusting way the receptionist spoke to me and even attempted to say it was my husband's fault for the cancelled appointment. What? Did she think we don't speak to eachother. After I asked why it couldn't be rescheduled(for the 3rd time) I was told the conversation was too heated and she literally hung up on me. Go to a more efficient and friendly vet.

Every visit I have had is stellar with the Doctors who are kind, experienced professionals who do what's best for your pet without gouging you into expensive exploratory tests, meds, etc if not necessary. 3 cheers for Dr. Zalis who literally saved my chiweenie Charlie's life. She took one look at him and suspected he had severe pancreatitis. She took immediate action and not only saved his life, but was kind enough to help us with some of the price for all the recurring visits. Many clinics just live to charge us but she helped us to ensure Charlie would receive the best care- hers. The techs were kind enough to even walk us through administering sub-cutaneous fluid treatment at home should he have any emergencies so he would not have to go to an ER over weekends or overnight. Plus, Charlie hates vets but really loved her immediately. She has great bedside manners. They even called daily to check on him. She also treated my dog Maggie for a fractured vertebrae and we received excellent care again. Great service! Dr. Kolta treated my dachshund Maggie for IVDD and partial paralysis. He noticed her first clinic over prescribed Gabupentin at too high of a dose to her that was actually responsible for the temporary paralysis and corrected this immediately for her. When other clinics all screamed surgery for )13,000$ +, Dr. Kolta reviewed Maggie and suggested the best conservative approach of appropriate treatment, medication, crate rest & therapy. I am proud to say Maggie has recovered 150% and is a very happy, active dachshund. She also really liked Dr. Kolta's bedside manners. He really went the extra mile for her researching all possibilities so she could have the best treatment possible. If you are a new patient, I will advise you to be prepared for a bit of a wait if you are not first in the morning. They recently absorbed patients from a nearby clinic that closed during covid which makes them busy. Be prepared to have patience and wait outside due to covid until called, even with your appointment. Your appointment guarantees you will be seen, but due to emergencies taking precedence, you will be seen as soon as possible. I have waited as long as 45 min to one hour with appointment because a real animal emergency occurred right before my appt and I'm ok with that. God forbid if my pet was an emergency and had to wait! Normally I've waited 15 minutes after appointment. The wait is worth it for the best vets in the area to treat my dogs. We thank you Union City Animal Clinic, Dr Zalis & Dr Kolta are the best!

I take Yvie there all the time and they love her. They know what they are doing and are following CDC guidelines with respect to social distancing. Be on time for your appointments so you are not waiting outside since it is a small waiting area inside and they have a limit on how many people can be inside.

The office staff is incredibly incompetent here. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere. The first time I brought my two cats here, they accidentally deleted my appointment, and had no record of my appointment, so when I arrived there was nothing ready for me and as a result I had to wait for 2 hours. I understand accidents happen, but the staff then blamed it on me and gave me a horrible attitude - which made me extremely uncomfortable. One of the girls in the office was even murmuring under her breath about me for the duration of my wait. Second time I came, the vet (don't know if this was a vet in training, but she was not the main one) couldn't even give my cats their medication! This resulted in her giving me orders to distribute the medication in my cats food. The problem is, my cats wouldn't eat it and this was important medication. What type of vet can't give cats medication? Isn't this what they train for. I promise you, my cats are well behaved, normal cats. Because my cats couldn't receive their medication, I went a THIRD time, to meet the main vet so she can give them their dosage. However, she took the cats into a different room, and delivered only one of the two medications they needed. When I called back to rectify the situation, the office staff gave me a terrible attitude, which ruined my day. Don't come here!

I had an emergency with a stray cat. For the third time, her respiratory tract was attacked, this time her vet was not attending. I went with a previous prescription so they could sell me the medicine and they didn't want to treat me, I was willing to pay whatever was necessary to get that medicine but they didn't want to treat me because I needed to take the cat to the doctor's office.I explained to them that she is wild and that it was impossible to put her in a bag to carry because she attacks me. Even so, they refused to treat me because they wanted to take x-rays and other expensive exams for me, impossible to pay at this time due to the lack of work due to a pandemic. They don’t have a vocation, they only care about money, they are detestable. I was lucky to get a vet who was able to sell me the medicine and I will always be very grateful for having been so professional and humanitarian
