“We made the trip down from Massachusetts to visit The Fish Hut, and we’re so glad we did! The moment we walked in, we were greeted by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic team who clearly care about both their fish and their customers.
The selection of African cichlids was incredible — easily the biggest and most impressive variety we’ve come across. Whether you’re just starting out or already experienced in the hobby, this place has something for everyone.

“This is a wonderful small business with very personable service and I have been going out of my way to support them for over 15 years living uptown here. I just wish they would finish their website so we can order online instead of calling! first because Chewy is probably decimating them and second because it truly would make it easier for me to place weekly orders. (I believe Shopify is not that expensive to set up for a small biz like this.) The ROV would be substantial. They absolutely must come up with a plan to incentivize customers. Some of their prices are comparable to or even slightly better than Chewy but some products are not competitively priced at all (to say the least). They need to do their research on that as well. Anyway, I really want them and other small businesses in the neighborhood to survive and thrive, but it's time for them to make a marketing move and improve our experience.”

“Our dog loves this shop!! Whenever we walk down Ditmars, he wants to go inside. Sometimes we walk down Ditmars past the Regal Beagle's closing time, and he sits outside of the shop patiently waiting to go inside because he doesn't want to believe it's closed. The owners are lovely, kind, and welcoming. If we have a question or concern, they are always happy to help! They have two cats who roam around the store and budgies in their cages so it gives it a homey feeling. They have pictures of dogs from the neighborhood on their walls.
Besides the toys, treats, and accessories they sell, they have a backyard for our furry friends to play. In the backyard is a hose, dog toys, and a bathtub for the dogs to play. They also have chairs for the humans to relax.
I highly recommend the Regal Beagle if you are a pet owner! Thank you Regal Beagle for putting a smile on our dog's face!! :)”
“We love Pet Club! It's conveniently located on Steinway within walking distance from our apartment, and they have everything we need for our new puppy. I appreciate all the high-quality and healthy items they keep in stock here. We haven't had a dog in years, and I had all the questions... I've been in the store multiple times over the last 1.5 weeks. The staff members here are always super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Today, they helped me find these no-rawhide chews for our pup. He absolutely loves them, and it's saving our toes, pant legs, shoes... Also a plus, they have a point system with Square so you can earn rewards over time ^_^”

“I got my mini dachshund, Wally, on March 1st. Nearly 4 months later and I can report that he is totally healthy, happy and super smart! It was the best decision I have ever made.
Thank you to Sal! Not only does he love every puppy that comes through his doors, but he is very excited for YOU to become a dog parent! He made the whole process simple and I felt confident the day I took Wally home. It’s super clean inside and all the pups were well taken care of.
That first night in March I was certain I wouldn’t get any sleep but Wally slept through the night in his crate! And every night after (Although now he sleeps with me)! Luckily, he has also been very healthy. He was a bit under 3 pounds when I first got him but now he’s about 10 pounds! I mostly have him on the dog food they sent us home with.

“BEEN DEALING WITH PETE FOR NUMBER OF YEARS and my experience has been gr8 love his shop im like a kid in a candy store.. Yesterday I drove 250 miles each way to pick up a Timbrado canary Pete of course had a few picked out an amazing little bird I can honestly say Pete loves what he does he is passionate about animals and has great integrity.. “Mo and his dad make this spot a true neighborhood gem! I'm in here a few times a week, sometimes even when I don't need anything, simply because my dogs absolutely refuse to walk down Manhattan Ave without stopping in to say hello and get a treat from Mo. they literally sit down on the sidewalk and won't budge until I give in and cross the street. Both Mo and his dad are super helpful, especially for people like me who have never had a puppy before and need all the tips on important ingredients for puppy food, how to manage his insane shedding (furminator!), and most importantly, the apple cider vinegar anti-chew spray they recommended when I told them about Leo's love of chewing my work heels--their guidance saved my sanity and my shoes. Also when the vet told me to get a product for Leo's ear infection and they didn't have it, Mo ordered it for me and it was there in two days.”

We were a little worried about bringing our pit bull, but there was absolutely no judgment. The owner was incredibly kind, personable, and knowledgeable about different dog breeds, which made us feel even more comfortable.
They have both a human menu and a dog menu, making it the perfect brunch spot for you and your pup. The coffee was delicious, and my Foxy absolutely loved her doggy treat!

“If you are in NYC, I highly recommend visiting this beautifully curated Zoomies store. They also have a website. We recently adopted a puppy, and I stopped by the shop before bringing him home. Everything felt so thoughtful, fun, and well selected.
I asked the founder, Susan, for some recommendations for our puppy, and every item she suggested ended up being a hit. He even rotates through the toys, so I went back to buy more items.
