“when you walk in someone is there to greet you. it's like returning to amazing human customer service and I love it. the way shopping in person should be with real connection. whether I am picking up an obscure .75 cent screw or multiple cans of paint, I have received the same level of surface and it's quite a lovely experience.”

“Harry’s Plumbing to the RESCUE! In a frantic on the night of July 2, guest in my home and no hot water. OMG! I Called the local gas company. The only appointment was July 3 8pm- 11pm.,Whaaaaat! I Called my Home Warranty Company, Water heater company since the product warranty is good until 2025, and local plumbing companies. If I would have made a claim or had a licensed plumber come out it would have been $100 out the gate., pay for replacement part and wait for it to arrive. Then, depending on the actual service pay $250 an hour minimum. Sheeeeeesh, so with July 4th approaching, I would not have hot water until Friday if i’m lucky. So what did I do? I watched a few you-tube clips. Called Harry’s Plumbing. Rushed across town before he closed at 12 noon. I cannot thank that gentleman enough for saving the day. The part worked. Talk about excitement when that burner ignited. I will keep my 8-11pm appointment nonetheless and enjoy my 4th of July luxuriating in a hot bubble bath. (Smiles) and a huge Thank you!”

“I have a leaking shower and needed some caulk. I wanted to support local business and remembered this shop. I called to make sure they carried caulk and caulk guns. The owner answered, checked that he had the items I was looking for. When I got there he was helful in selecting the right caulk and remembered that I had called. He placed the last caulk gun behind the counter for me so it would be available when I came in. Such personal service. Much appreciated!!”
“They usually have enough stock, but get there as soon as possible for popular items. Friendly staff! Look for sales and discounts online before going to the store.”
“Inexpensive tools! There are some (maybe all?) that are backed by a lifetime warranty. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy using knipex and other high end hand tools, but there isn't a point to fork out 5-10x the cost for tools that don't get used often or only needed once or twice. For tools I used often, finances considered, id likely buy somewhere else, but for rarely or occasionally used tools, harbor freight is sufficient. Staff was friendly and offered me help finding something and upon checkout ensured me both tools (long breaker bar and a single impact socket to remove stuck lug nuts) were backed by a lifetime warranty, anywhere in the United states.”
“If you need any tools, this is the first place you go if you are on a budget. Not as many options as what you would see in home depot or Lowes, but to sleep on this place is a mistake. Only reason for 4 out of 5 stars, it's not a one stop shop and they don't always have what I need. But the prices can't be beat.”
“This place is amazing. It's a tiny little place but it has everything and the staff knows where everything is so you can just ask them and they will help you find it. It's a great addition to the neighborhood and their neighborhood people too so they get to know you. And it's really convenient and handy having a hardware store right around the corner”
“So, I don't know if you've ever been to a true value... But it is far from what I would call a big box hardware store. That is one of the things I actually like about the place. It feels like a mom and pop hardware store. I don't know if it's a franchise, but it certainly feels like a small business and I like to frequent places like that. “Stopped by today to get some help with a 100 year old lock that was no longer working. I didn’t want to replace the historic lock; just try to fix it. The guy there was extremely helpful. Parking was easy. Free street parking. Parked right in front of the store. Please stop by this local store to receive friendly helpful one on one help before visiting the big box stores. I’m glad I did.”
“I run a guitar repair & restoration business a few blocks away from Carr’s Hardware. They’re awesome. Great prices, great people, great service. A couple weeks ago I mentioned that I needed some pegboard for my workshop and they just gave me a few big sheets of their old pegboard displays completely for free. Whenever they don’t have something I need on hand, they look it up and order it for me if they have access to it. And the next Thursday I come in, there it is.Probably now more than ever, it’s important to put some thought into where you’re spending your money before you spend it. The bigger retailers like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and Walmart become, the more money they have to burn their names into the back of your mind through advertising, and the harder it becomes for small mom and pop shops to create their own Walmart story (i.e. a small mom and pop shop growing into a retail giant themselves). If we never go out of our way to make sure that small mom and pop shops have the chance to earn our business, larger retailers slowly cannibalize, and eventually monopolize their entire niche. And the last whisper of competition gets stomped out by a merger between two mega corporations.Carr’s Hardware may not have the budget to run thousands of ads, but they are the model business in Gloucester City. No one runs a small, local business better than them.”
“The place was organized the store was well lit the staff was fast n helpful. They had what i needed and knew how to locate the item swiftly. The prices where ok. The parking seem to be my only problem. I had to park in a bus only zone and run in and out wich with the stores help I was in and out but there's no parking only on the side streets wich are always packed. All in all the experience here was ok no hassles waits or worries.”

“This is a well-stocked store. During my recent visit I perused the aisles and shelves and a staff member followed me around pretending to arrange the shelves, perhaps suspecting me of shoplifting? They shooed me out of the store. Again, it's a well-stocked store and you can find anything at all there.”
“Ordered online some cleaning suppies and had them deliver to my home. They were fast and prices were reasonable. So convient to have them in my neighborhood! Good going Ace Hardware!”
