Clean and organized, but pricier than other ShopRites in the area.

Today, one of the old lady in the bakery was so rude. She’s very very rude to me like a racist. Never feel bad in this ShopRite until now. She yelled at me on asking for help.

They sell EXPIRED stuff!! I bought Red curry paste from shoprite (Woodbridge, NJ) more than a month ago. I trusted this store while purchasing and now when I opened it, IT IS EXPIRED!! It got expired in April 2023 already. How can this still be on shelf? Now I don't have the receipt and return date has passed. Can't trust shoprite anymore.

Nakia Johnson not once, not twice, but several times has been rude and disrespectful to my friends and family. One day she made my mom feel like she was doing something illegal because she brought over 20 items to self checkout. She disrespected and embarrassed my mother in front of so many people. Today, I had to come grocery shopping for my sister and aunts because they all have Covid. When I tried to explain this to Nakia she started getting loud and disrespectful. There were other customers and workers who stopped what they were doing just to watch, it was extremely embarrassing and I felt degraded. I tried to explain to her once again that I’m here shopping for COVID POSITIVE household members and she wouldn’t stop arguing. So I asked if she’d prefer that I send them in store and she said that’s fine. So the Woodbridge ShopRite would rather Covid positive customers come shop for themselves and spread a virus rather than allow a family member to shop on their behalf? According to Nakia, “that is the store’s policy” and if you were to speak to a manager “they will tell me the same.” I wasn’t aware that the new norm is to go out and do your regular activities even when you have a virus. Even before humiliating me in front of so many people she did the same thing to some elderly couple who had maybe 7 items. She made them go to a cashier instead of self checkout and after a minute she calls them back and says she’s doing them a favor by allowing them to come back to self checkout. I didn’t know anybody off the street can now become a manager especially when they have no customer service or management skills whatsoever. We have been coming to this ShopRite for years and we have never had issues with anyone, but now, all of a sudden every time we come she’s there to bombard us with her absurdity. Extremely disappointed to say the least as Woodbridge is my community and this ShopRite is a major part of that community, but what is the point when this ShopRite doesn’t care about the community. Might as well go to newer and cleaner locations instead such as South Plainfield or Clark or Linden.

This place used to be decent, but for the past year or two they’ve become an absolute joke. It’s become near impossible to check out of this store. Maybe if they treated their employees better they wouldn’t have such a hard time finding people to work here.

World-class Shoprite of Woodbridge was a great place to shop. It's really not the supermarket. It's the patrons that are the issue. I've shop at this place for over 19 years. The crew at the customer service are the best.

Wish they offered scan and go like other Shoprites have adopted. Otherwise it's one of the best food stores around.Update 1/2024: The store has started really enforcing their 20 item limit at self checkout, even when there are more registers than customers. This is extremely inconvenient.

Best to shop very early or after 7p to beat the rush hour shoppers.I had a poor customer service experience recently. The pint of blueberries I purchased was not sealed. As I left the store, without knowing the contents began to spill out. I returned to the customer service desk for a replacement. The response I received shocked me. I was told that “they made it through the checkout all the way there” I I was also informed that it would be the last time I was able to get it replaced. I was floored! I guess this type of behavior is condoned by management and corporate. I made my complaint known, I received a voicemail from a person named Catherine from the store stating that if I wanted to call her back I could. When I returned the call, I was placed on hold for 45 minutes. I finally gave up and called again, and I was told that Katherine had left for the day. I gave this information to the corporate office . I have not received any apology.

The lady that was working at the bakery department (selling cakes) on 1/20/24 had attitude issues. She obviously would rather clean her countertops than help customers. Tried to give us a fruit tart with sad looking (meaning starting to rot) fruits and when asked for the other one went onto giving a lecture that all the cakes are the same and we should take whatever we're given. Not coming back.

Nakia Johnson was so mean to my sister! I have covid so I can’t go to the grocery store OBVIOUSLY. So, my sister tried to explain this to Nakia and she went off on my sister. I was literally on the phone listening to her belittling my sister when my sister is just trying to tell her that I have COVID so she’s shopping on my behalf. I don’t understand why this had to turn into such a big argument when it could have been settled easily. I am so disappointed, she deserves to be fired, at this point you’re hiring people off the street so anybody can do that job.
