Made an appt for 5:30 today to see a car. Upon checking in I was told I was first on the waitlist. Waited til 6 and still hadn't been helped. There wasn't even anyone at the desk majority of the time. Employees kind of just standing around. I ended up leaving. Huge pet peeve of mine when companies don't take customers time into consideration. Especially because automobiles are large investments. Wish I would've stopped to see Yelp because it seems like most others have had bad experiences too.

Paid $99 to have a car transferred from TX to NM (about 5hrs away). The confirmation said the car would be ready within 10 days. It took 14. They said they sent a text the car was ready and when I didn't make an appointment to drive it in 2 business days they 'released' the car for sale. No phone call, no email, and absolutely no refund. Terrible company policy and they lost a customer forever.

Terrible customer service. Got onto list to test drive a vehicle. No one else infront of me, after over an hour of waiting. Several sales personnel have made eye contact and even walked by without saying anything. No one here is serious about selling a vehicle, pretty sad.

I delayed my survey and comments for what I consider the completion of my purchase. What I mean by that is, I bought a 7 year old truck and despite all the work Carmax did to transport, check, make ready and detail, things can show up that need to be addressed. This was no surprise to me. In my case a few items did arise when I was taking possession of my truck. They were documented and scheduled in, to be taken care of. All this happened smoothly and completely so now I can honestly give a favorable rating.Just a little more about Carmax. They are a retail car sales outlet, not a local discount or wholesale lot. I expected I would pay a little more for my truck, but I would recoup that with the product and service they offer. They are a national company and can offer the greatest inventory for a minimal cost to ship and wait time. Their facility impressed me in the size of their service and detail shop (yes I got a tour). I'm just in the second month of owning my truck now and I am very pleased. The couple of initial problems were fixed by their service dept. and the service advisor Homero, handled everything quickly and professionally.So far, I am very pleased with my decision to buy from Carmax.Skip

You need to have an appointment. However, still plan on waiting a minimum of 1.5 hours past your appointment to be seen. This used to be my go-to place to buy a good used vehicle. The last two I paid to ship were not detailed warped rotors on one, missing TRD ALUMINUM SKID PLATES they wouldn't even entertain replacing it. Will not go back.Wish I had photos...

Appointments are more like a spot on a waitlist. Showed up 10 minutes early for an "appointment" to test drive a car. I was told I was 2nd in line. Waited an hour and I was still 2nd in line(?). I was told that the person 1st in line had been waiting 1.5 hours and also had an "appointment". Short staffed. Very frustrating.Update: Once you meet with a salesperson that you like, get his or her info and make an appointment with them directly. On that note, ask for Joseph. He was great to work with. Courteous, attentive, and knowlegable. You can tell he loves cars.

I am very pleased with some of the folks at this location! The sales manager, I totally forgot his name, also the manager Kelsey, and the salesman Eric! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. There was a little hiccup with driving my car home, but they went above and beyond to get me to be able to drive off the lot ! Thank you Carmax!!!

I was told straight to my face that I was able to refinance my vehicle with Carmax after 6 months. It's been 6 months and after talking to a representative I was told carmax does not refinance what so ever and "sorry I was misinformed." I will never go back here for another vehicle in my life.
