Hotels in Carlsbad, NM

“It is a solid hotel that appears to be a part of an area Carlsbad is building up. The location is amazing if you want to visit the Carlsbad Caverns or the Guadalupe Mountains. You can avoid having to drive through the traffic of Carlsbad which is very helpful during certain parts of the day.

It looks like a new hotel as there is little signs of aging or decay. Be aware that there does appear to be something being built next door as they are staging equipment and the such and there is a convention center behind the hotel that looks like it has not opened yet and will be used for something im the future.

I give it 4 stars for this reason:

They do serve a standard hot breakfast. It has what you expect from breakfast and you will enjoy having it in the morning before you head out.

They lost their cook on staff so their dinner service was not there. And the bathroom door was misaligned and it slides. So that meant it made a large creak as it moved and it was hard to move.

The beds were comfortable, plenty of room for a medium family as the room we grabbed had two queens, a sofa bed and a kitchenette.

It is very quiet as there was a roaring thunderstorm that my family slept through. I happened to be awake or I would never had known it was happening. I would recommend seeing if they have a view other than the main street though as the lights from the highway made it difficult to see the thunderstorms at night. But it is not a big deal.

It is a dog friendly hotel but very little grass in the area. Just a rock be out back. There is a nice outdoor pool but no hot tub. A well-stocked bar with a dozen beers on tap. We were here mid week so I do not know how busy the bar is on the weekend. Plus again there was no cook so judge it as you will.

There is some gas nearby but it was odd for me to see 86 octane when my car taked 87. So be aware for cars out of state. I am sure someone will tell me 86 is fine for most cars. But I will not take that risk.

For restaraunts, you are going to need to do a bit of a drive because most of the restaraunts, coffee spots and amenities are definitely in central and northern carlsbad which can be easily a 10-15 minute drive. Not completely inconvenient or a deal breaker, but realize that if you are driving in from the north to check in and are hungry. Grab something as you drive in from the north and save yourself some time and frustration.

The room I was in had a walk in shower, no tub. Not sure if this was just this room or if it is the entire location. I would ask if a tub is essential for younger kiddos.

I feel like that as this area gets built up and more amenities get brought into the Southside to appeal to those going to the Calrsbad Caverns and Guadalupe Mountains, this will become an excellent choice for families to be at. Right now it is a solid choice.

TLDR, clean, solid choice with a pool for kiddos, dog friendly, bar on site, have to drive a bit for food, hot breakfast, good location for Carlsbad, Roswell, and Guadalupe Mountains. Will come again.”

“We have always enjoyed the food at Trinity. Tonight's dinner was above and beyond! My pork chop was so tender and juicy! My husband had the fish with cajun sauce and Dad had the rib eye. It was all delicious. Brooklyn was our server. She remembered us from our last visit. She made me a great margarita, too!”

“We are near the end of an epic road trip and this is hotel #6. By far the best hotel experience of the trip and probably my life. The lady up front was so helpful and amazing I think her name was Ness. The world needs more people like her!”

“Spacious and clean rooms with pleasant, efficient staff. Noise level (from street and inside hotel) was medium. Water pressure was mediocre but did the job. Breakfast hours are atypical (0500-0900), but guest primarily seem to be in the area for work so it makes sense if the purpose is to accommodate them. Didn't need service outside of check-in but she was friendly, as were the housekeeping staff that I passed in the hallways. There are plenty of restaurants/ food trucks/ grocery stores in the area. The pro/ con list of things that I personally look for is below:

✔ Has a fridge, microwave, and hair dryer. Plenty of light and places to charge electronics. Good room temperature control. Independent (switch) bathroom fan. Plenty of warm/ hot water. Sleep timer on TV.

✖ No freezer section in fridge and no ability to control fridge temp. No smart TV. No ability to set constant fan unless in fan only mode.”

“Nice clean establishment comfortable bed good working fridge and microwave and coffee they even have two bottled waters in the room in case you forgot water for your coffee. the staff is very friendly and helpful the pool is nice and clean along with the hot tub. towels by the poolside. the breakfast is good. Pretty centrally located with places to eat just a few miles away. The lady at the front counter when I asked give me a recommendation for Lucky Bull grill and she said it was good and she was spot on had a great meal to go along with everything. I highly recommend this hotel if you dont mind spending the little extra money. It is a bit secluded from places around us, but that gives you a pretty safe and comfortable feeling if you have any concerns about that.”

“I stayed here because of the wind in carlsbad. I enjoyed it very much large room, great shower refrigerator and microwave very clean. Wod differently come back and recmend it to everyone.”

“Great place. Room was great, staff was attentive and polite.
BUT …. Three little ice machines serving the whole large place. One was out of order and the other two had been emptied by the oil field guys.”

“I was charging my Tesla at the Supercharger right in front of the hotel, we are in a long trip so we want to save the time and eat instant noodles while charging the car. Me and my daughter brought 2 instant noodles to the hotel and asked help if we can ise the microwave there. The front desk, Lashawna, was so nice, there is no mocrowave in the lobby, she took our instant noodle and heated them in the breakfadt room, and she even provided us bowls, folks and napkins. I'm so appreciated for her help and her kindness and thoughtfulness! If there is any chance, I will book this hotel next time drive to NM.”

“We had a great experience staying here for a week while working in the area. The lady at the front desk was extremely polite, friendly, and welcoming. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and very nice, especially considering the price.

Being in an oilfield town, hotel prices can get pretty high, but this place offers excellent value. You honestly can’t beat it for the price. Highly recommend it for anyone working in the area or looking for a comfortable and affordable long-term stay!

The AC has some mold but all in all, it is a general clean place.”

“Overall, fine enough stay. Slept great. I know you get what you pay for but the rooms could still be cleaner and they could give you a fresh shampoo for the price. Service was good, location is great.”

“There was no toilet paper or body wash, the TV cable box did not have an active subscription, but the rooms were nicely maintained. Some say the AC were annoying, but I personally did not mind. There was a lobby which had breakfast which is nice”

“Our room is extremely clean and comfortable. And smelled good.. Very nice! Host was professional and kind. Bed is firm but comfortable. I recommend staying here. Not sure why the reviews are low or why people are fussing. It’s just fine unless you prefer a “soft” bed.”
