“This unique boutique hotel in the heart of Carlsbad NM is a wonderful place to stay. Spacious rooms, HUGE bathroom in room 2 at least. (Converted 1892 bank building). The restaurant and bar are top notch. Wine tasting for guests. They feature Arizona wines. And if you are booked in the hotel they’ll get you a table for dinner as you check in. Carlsbad itself - off season - isn’t that interesting but February is a great time to go to the caverns crowd free for the most part. But your tickets early on-line. Stay at this hotel if you favor old world charm.The restaurant features breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner menus. Trendy bistro with appetizing options. Worth a stop even if you don’t stay at the hotel.Rooms: Comfortable and spacious. Easy access to your car.Food & drinks: Probably Carlsbad’s finest dining experience.”

“Oscar, Danielle, Rhonda, and Amen (the hotel owner) were all incredible! I cannot say enough good things about our business meeting that was held in this hotel and event center. Every single thing we needed was handled efficiently and with kindness and care! We did not receive any complaints about the meeting from participants!Rooms: The rooms are very comfortable, clean, and offer extra amenities! They have suites and regular rooms! Both are amazing!Food & drinks: The hotel bar offers a full menu of food and drinks! It is clean and the people are friendly!Noteworthy details: This hotel offers a large event center in the parking lot for business meetings and events. The hotel staff did an excellent job handling our two day business meeting and the food was great! Every need was met!”

“I was here for a couple weeks for business. Internet is good, kitchen is good, gym is good, laundry room is good, staff is good. No issues with the bathroom and the water pressure is really good. They provide dove gel, shampoo, lotion, etc. I had plenty of room for all my stuff and there is enough floor space for a little workout and doing my physical therapy. I'm a side sleeper so I hated the bed. No plushness or contouring. I was able to hook HDMI from laptop to TV easily so I could stream while I worked at the desk. TV also has a bunch of HBO channels! Too many sports channels and No Fox Business :-(I can hear some noise from other rooms sometimes but didn't hear anything after 9pm which was great. If you have a room above the courtyard/fire pit area that can be annoying sometimes. They also have fresh baked chocolate chip cookies every night!This was perfect for work, good location off the main drag but close to stuff and easy to get to 285 South to get my field work done.”

“We enjoyed our stay. We booked super last minute, which was no problem and prices were great.Staff was excellent and went above and beyond to help us.Very clean also! Definitely would stay again.”

“We received a confirmation email of our reservation weeks in advance. At check in, they could not locate our reservation and made us wait almost an hour in the lobby to recreate it. We asked if they had other rooms and if we could just get another reservation. We explained we had just driven 10 hours and just wanted to relax. He said yes there were plenty of rooms but he had to wait for his manager and her manager to review and recreate our reservation. Made no sense. The hotel was really nice and quiet. Breakfast was really scaled down to almost nothing since they were having plumbing issues. Not their fault.”

“After a small kitchen fire I picked this place because it was in town and close to restaurants. Well it started off rocky, due to being on the 3rd floor and their elevator breaking down multiple times. It was miserable having to climb all those stairs just to have to climb back up them in a hour. But the wonderful people employed at this Express went above and beyond to help our stay be as comfortable as possible!! The girls at the desk. And the friendly cleaning crews all exceeded my expectations!!! Even Ms. Helen having to hear me ask if the pancake machine is working every morning!! And I knew I was only going to get teeny tiny pancakes she still made the effort to try a fix a broken machine!!! Maybe they will get a new one!!! Love this place!!!Nearby activities: Shopping. Fishing. Eating outWalkability: Mall less than yards away. Fishing just down the hill.”

“Room was a very fair price which made us think that maybe it wouldn’t be as good of quality. We were so wrong. The room was very nice and bed was very comfortable. Woke up in the morning for breakfast expecting a typical basic breakfast. We were wrong again. The breakfast was very good with real scrambled eggs and the staff was very friendly.”

“Crystal, the front desk clerk, was fabulous. She was so cheerful and helpful. She called a local restaurant to make sure they were open on Thanksgiving. She was a joy and a such wonderful person to run into after a long trip.”

“Clean hotel with average prices for the area. Parking is not the greatest as most is in the rear where "non-guests" regularly walk from the adjacent Walmart. There are signs about every 20 feet saying to take all valuables which gives the impression that there are regular vehicle break ins, not sure if this is the case though.”

“Rooms looked updated, nice and clean. Receptionist was very friendly. Can get a little bit noisy at night with the cars racing by. Location is good with walking distance to restaurants. Only complaint was that the breakfast was really weak (at least during my stay). There was cereal with no milk, one package of store bought pancakes for everyone to share, and that was about it in terms of highlights. If you advertise free breakfast, I feel like it should be better that what I experienced.”

“I made a reservation to go to Carlsbad National Park for a cost-effective accommodation. I recommend it to anyone who wants to just sleep and move around cheaply.”

“I had a reservation to stayed from December 23 to December 26th the check in was quick and easy. Room was clean it was nice but not overly nice everything worked like it should bed was comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful. The best part it was quiet didn't hear anybody. I would stay again for the price I paid.”

“For an older Inn it's not bad! Very quiet considering it's next to the Highway. Very friendly staff.Walkability: Gas station and a place to eat on site. Few other places to eat in walking distance.”
