“The Family Dollar Store in Taos is a nice, moderate sized general store type of business, where customers can buy everything from food, milk, dishware, pots and pans, pens and notebook paper, to towels, toys, clothing and shoes for children, men and women and personal care products. They also have small stereos, music CDs, cell phones and battery chargers, pet food, bedding such as sheets, pillows and blankets and brooms, mops, cleaning supplies, air fresheners, birthday cards, picture frames, paper towels and toilet paper and much more. The prices are moderate so it's not truly a "dollar store" but you'll find quality items at a fraction of what they cost at other bigger stores. This store has friendly employees and decent hours and are open for 7 days a week. The Taos store is also conveniently located.”

“2-17-2023 Manager and staff are friendly and helpful. They try to keep things well organized. Prices are very reasonable for the vast majority of items, and it's THE place to buy nails even in large quantities. They have light fixtures, plumbing items, paint, sealants, small hardware items, cabinetry, doors, bed heads, bedframes, sofas, bookshelves, filing cabinets, desks, craft items, clothing, shoes, backpacks, carry bags, purses, cooking items, coffee makers, racks, sheets, curtains, vacuums, dishware, glasses & mugs, organizing shelves, tools, tiles, garden pots and other gardening items, camping stuff, books, art, exercise equipment, collectibles, sometimes sheetrock, tripods for cameras, a music stand, a mic boom, a mic... So much is donated some days that stuff is outside by the door as well in as many as 15 boxes you can pick through. Sometimes interesting things turn up (like an entire bin of leather I found one day, and some interesting rocks). They get a lot of furniture. (I do wish they had more sheds to house it; for lack of enough large sheds, much of it gets rained or snowed upon. If furniture has just been dropped off or if we're having a dry spell, you can sometimes find decent furniture there.) I wish someone would donate enough warehousing for the furniture, but other than that it's a fun place to poke around with very good prices. If you drop by routinely, you can get some great deals there even on furniture. I'm not deducting a star because much of the furniture gets rained on, as it's not their fault they don't have enough warehousing.”
