Jewelry Stores
“Dear fellow tourist, I wished I had done my research before visiting NM and if I had, I would have purchased more from Riana, the owner of Gypsy Gem. Only until after I stayed 5 days in NM did I realize that I wanted to purchase directly from native artists. The pottery is museum quality and something to cherish for generations. Riana offers jewelry pieces she has hand mined! Visiting her website after returning home, I learned she offers tours. I would have LOVED a tour and this opportunity might be compelling enough to plan another trip to NM. Buy from this shop, you will be so happy you did.”
“The owner, Riana, is an extremely talented (and super sweet) artisan. She mines her very own turquoise and hand-crafts beautiful jewelry and other creations as well. She's the first gallery on the right as you enter Madrid's main drag (right before the general store). Need to check her out! Unfortunately, didn't get any photos of jewelry or gallery but did capture this awesome inlaid turquoise sea shell.”

Jewelry Stores
“Fun little jewelry, etc store right in the middle of Madrid, across the street from the Mining Bar. I wanted to buy an actual turquoise stone. And this place had many. But they were more expensive than I expected. Not the stores fault, just pricey gems. Anyway, what am I goin to do with a little $40 piece of blue/green rock. I just wanted to have it. Anyway, lots of cool stuff in here. Owner was friendly too.”
“Ruth Aber, proprietor and owner of Mostly Madrid (MM) is as knowledgeable as they come about Native American art and local art. Her store is a living example of her knowledge filled with an eclectic array of jewelry, art, clothing, local creations and hidden gems. I have known Ruth and shopped in MM for almost 30 years. I always find something I can't live without! If you're in Madrid, this is a must. (And pick up some of Harvey's chocolate next door at Shugarman's Little Chocolate Shoppe)”
