El Paisano Market is a nice, clean local mercado and grocery store with a good selection of Mexican food items and groceries. It is an amazing little store with a great variety, including a great meat department with good prices. The beef jerky is amazing, with favorite flavors like Habanero Garlic, Hot Cheeto, and green chili garlic and parmesan. Jerky Tuesday is a must. The new cocina has the best red chili and tacos, with some seating inside. They also have affordable sacks of green chili with nice heat and good flavor, which they roast on the spot. It is a great place with great customer service.
We regularly shop at this market. The jerky is great and the store-made tortillas are excellent. Great selection of spices and Mexican items. Very helpful employees. We haven't tried the restaurant or the meat counter yet (vegetarians in the family), but it looks great. The roasted chilis are a must buy when in season.
