The Village Buttery
2107 Sudderth Dr, RuidosoVillage Buttery was another pie stop on my quest to sample as many of USA Today's top 10 pie shops (from 2024) as possible while road tripping across the country; and frankly, I'm a bit disappointed in USA Today for not re-including them in 2025! I'm sure narrowing it down to just 10 shops in the entire country is pretty hard, but Village Buttery's marquee butter pie is truly one of a kind and definitely lived up to its well-earned reputation as a unique and special dessert! Meanwhile, their offering of 4 high-end-bakery cookies for just $6 (at least at the time I was there) is an unheard-of bargain for that level of cookie deliciousness! New Mexico is unfortunately quite far from home for me, but I would/will definitely return here in a heartbeat if I every find myself anywhere remotely nearby in the future!

I love chipotle sauce and come to find out they make it in house. Makes sense why this place is so highly rated. This is a MUST EAT while in town imo. Do not skip this place.

1074 Mechem Dr, RuidosoThe restaurant had beautiful decorations and felt so comfortable.The food was amazingly delicious , tasty, hot and I definitely should have came everyday while we were visiting the town .Try the hot flaky and fluffy huge biscuit and gravy — you will be surprised and happy .I ordered an omelet with spinach and bacon and wow , wow , wow did the chef hook me up with lots of bacon it was amazing , hash browns were just cooked perfect -real hash browns that’s how you cook them . Hot coffee on our table was a plus .HATS OFF TO THE CHEF , GREAT FOOD AND GREAT STAFF .Thank you ,your greatly appreciated .

Anyway, the pizza was so good! We got one with brisket, which i was a little nervous about because … who puts brisket on pizza? But the pizza was so so so delicious and actually ended up being free because they forgot about our order for a while! I tried giving our waiter a tip because the food was really good and he was so sweet throughout the whole ordeal, but he kept giving the cash back; it was so nice? I cannot say enough great things about this place, if you’re in the area you should DEFINITELY try it!!!

Aiden was very busy, but he & Amy made a point of stopping by our table. Emma was also very busy, but very attentive to our drinks. Another gold star for Emma was when we were parking. She was running across the parking lot after a male customer to give him his ballcap.

Humane Society of Lincoln County
25962 US-70, RuidosoThe people who work and volunteer there truly care for the animals and strive to find them the best and most loving homes. The new facility (well newish) is great and though the pups and kitties could be in better places,they are well taken care of and in bright spirits. If you have love, time, and a home to give then go adopt a new family member! They are full, sadly, but the animals are wonderful and perfect for that right person.
