El Monte Sagrado is a beautiful hotel and resort that feels like a secluded, luxurious wellness retreat, conveniently close to downtown. The property features beautiful architecture, decor, artwork, and lush foliage, especially in the restaurant and pool atrium, creating a truly special and relaxing experience. The staff is consistently described as very friendly, helpful, professional, and kind, offering excellent customer service and a warm welcome. Guests appreciate thoughtful touches, a useful shuttle service, and amenities like in-room soaking tubs, fireplaces, and a saltwater pool. However, several reviews note significant issues with room maintenance and cleanliness. Problems include malfunctioning A/C and heaters, noisy vents, shower leaks, and dated technology like wifi and televisions. Some guests reported rooms needing a deep clean, citing filthy baseboards, stained furniture, and mysterious substances. While one guest found their room impeccably clean, others encountered missing tiles, loose fixtures, and overall standards that fell short. On one occasion, the spa and pool facilities were not operational, though compensation was provided. Despite these inconsistencies, many guests had a great, wonderful, or relaxing overall experience. The restaurant food is repeatedly praised as excellent, yummy, and some of the best. Many visitors loved their stay, would recommend it, and hope to return, feeling the potential for a five-star experience is there with attention to room upkeep.
Beautiful hotel. Worth the little extra for the difference.

The hotel is absolutely amazing with beautiful outside setup : fountains, walkways, old trees, big chess game,… The rooms are large and comfortable. Service is very good. The negative points are the AC noise level in the room and some additional water noise. The prices are also quite high.
