El Pueblo Lodge is a very clean and tidy property with a rustic, old school motel feel that does not feel like a regular hotel. The rooms are extremely spacious, comfortable, and updated, with comfy beds, fireplaces, and all expected amenities. The staff is great, friendly, helpful, and provides awesome service. A hot breakfast is served daily, featuring a traditional buffet with lots of options including tacos, scrambled eggs, cereal, and toast. The pleasant breakfast area has a lovely New Mexico style wood-burning fireplace. Complimentary cookies, chips, and salsa are offered in the lobby, along with hot coffee and hot chocolate throughout the evening. The lodge is very pet friendly with lots of nice grass around. It provides a great value for the price, with reasonable prices for the area. Guests appreciate the hot tub to relax after a day of skiing, with the ski area about a 30-minute drive away. It is a perfect place to stay and a highly recommended hotel for Taos.
