Doggy Shop Grooming of Taos
1033 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur Suite G, TaosI took my 95 pound dog in and he is generally terrified to go into buildings, period. I was so nervous, but Lydia saw me outside struggling and she came right out so calm and helped me get Finn inside. When I picked him up, he was happy and calm. They did an amazing job on deshedding him and nails! He looks amazing. Cannot thank you guys enough!

Tidwell Jeff DVM
41 NM-522, TaosTed Schubach has been my vet for over 40 years. He is awesome and always has been there for our many pets over the years. The pandemic has changed the face of veterinary care in Taos. Many people moved to Taos with pets, overloading the already busy clinics in town. We only have 2 vet clinics for all of Taos County. Last year we had a dog emergency and rushed to Taos Vet only to find they were closed for lunch! So we rushed to Salazar Vet and received care only to return to Taos Vet after the crisis had subsided. When Dr Schubach was not overwhelmed by the shear need in Taos...he would make house calls to care for dying pets. In the last year we needed our elder chihuahua put down and he graciously came out to our car to euthanize our Venny in our arms. These are not cold heartless people...they are overworked and overwhelmed. They have compassion and heart and I am sorry that anyone may feel different. They can only see so many patients in a day. They only have 2 doctors. People have forgotten what Covid did to our healthcare system.

Taos Veterinary Clinic PC
41 NM-522, TaosMy dogs love everyone here and want to stay and go into the back. They are always extremely accommodating about squeezing us in when we need to be seen, which is often, and usually last minute as Georgie is medically needy.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Aji
309 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur, TaosWe had the street ceviche, paella & salmon - all 3 were excellent! Even with good reviews I wasn’t expecting this quality Peruvian food in a small town - definitely worth trying! We’re only visiting, but if we’re back in Taos we’ll be back to Aji.

Alys A La Cart
625 Paseo Del Pueblo Norte, TaosAfter a day of driving, hiking, soaking in hot springs, and exploring Taos, I stumbled into Aly's and ended up finding one of the best meals of my trip! Yay!!
I ordered the vegan black bean burger with a side of pineapple, and wow—super yummy! The caramelized onions, turmeric hummus, and perfectly seasoned patty came together in a way that made my taste buds so very happy!!
My friend ordered the chicken shawarma pie along with the za'atar fries- outstanding I was told. The portion was so filling that she couldn't even finish it until the next day. The fries were crispy and flavorful.
My meal was so good that I came back the very next morning before leaving Taos.
This time I had the vegan burrito and lavender lemonade. The burrito was loaded with seasoned tofu, potatoes, vegan cheese, and a blend of spices. (I so enjoyed it, I forgot to take a pic until the last bite!) The lavender lemonade was refreshing (nothing artifical or sweet to the taste, cause they make it inhouse)- perfect start to the day.
Bonus: they even had a pup cup for my dog, Caio. She was thrilled.
Great food, generous portions, friendly service, vegan-friendly options that actually deliver on flavor, and a welcoming atmosphere.
If you're in Taos, do yourself a favor and eat here!!
Then come back the next day like I did.... hahah!!

The Espresso Bar @ Taos Valley Lodge
615 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur, TaosThis is my favorite coffee shop in town, in spite of changes the new owners have made. The staff is always friendly and the service is great. The coffee isn't quite as good since the new ownership took over, and I really miss the fun seasonal drink menus the previous owners offered. But overall, one of the most consistently good and unpretentious coffee spots in Taos.

La Cueva Cafe
135 Paseo Del Pueblo Sur, TaosLa Cueva Café was an absolute gem! They went above and beyond to accommodate Moto Odyssey LLC. They made our group of 13 motorcycles feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The manager was incredible, offering to seat us either inside or outside so we could all stay together.
We chose to dine outside, where we enjoyed the beautiful atmosphere and a refreshing breeze while sharing stories from the road. The food was delicious, the service was outstanding, and the hospitality was second to none.
If you're traveling through the area especially with a motorcycle group,I highly recommend stopping at La Cueva Café. Great food, exceptional service, and a team that truly understands what hospitality is all about. We can't wait to return!

Gutiz
812B Paseo Del Pueblo Norte, TaosWe were on the road with our dog and we were so glad they had a dog friendly patio - they even gave her a bowl of water. Food was phenomenal. Service was friendly. Loved the in-house tea blends. It felt like eating comfort food without feeling heavy or unhealthy since everything is scratch made. We left feeling very full and refreshed.
I highly recommend the Tartine and the Cleansing Celtic Mint Tea! You also have to try their marmalade!
