First time I went here was not happy and left. That turned out to be an employee who didn't know the rules. So I tried again and had a cap shipped from another location. When it got here I went and drove it, loved it. They reappraised my car, but said they would honor whichever offer was higher, of course I was skeptical. But they did it and I got $1000 more than I was originally quoted for my car. I also have to say in the Albany store Brandon was fantastic and worked so hard to get my deal closed from start to finish within 2 hours! He was great to work with.

Happy with choice of car but had to make multiple trips back to dealership to retrieve paperwork that should have been given on day one. Also, no verification of inspection (no sticker/mileage) for oil change was on the car nor would they provide one. The wait to get assistance to purchase a car was much longer than most would anticipate. Car is awesome and meets my family's needs. Do your diligence and get an outside loan for lower interest, check with local lender or your bank first. Nice people to work with but chaotic when it came to documentation.

purchasing a vehicle thru CarMax was an experience we don't want to repeat. delays in shipping title addressing our concerns processes to valid our certified check and repeating our situation
to numerous employees was frustrating and annoying. The car was not ready when we confirmed a date to buy it. The time and challenges were not worth it. The truck has not been driven much, I hope there are no problems. We did not get an owners manual which is still a problem.
We think the most annoying experience was when the associate
gave us a hard time excepting our certified check. He wanted me to open my account so that he could see the withdrawal.

The website, BOTH mobile and desktop versions, was super user-friendly. Everything was transparent and made sense from the beginning. The website told me everything I had to bring with me for the appointment in person, and when I arrived, check-in was easy. Additionally, the staff were visibly working as quickly and efficiently as they could to get to customers, and in addition to being hard-working, they were polite and did everything promptly.

Made an appointment for 12:30, arrived at 12:30.
Got told to “sit and wait” over there…
I waited 5 minutes and left. When I got home 30 minutes later they were calling asking if I was still there.
DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE FROM THESE LOSERS!

Fast, friendly, courteous, no gimmicks. Best car-buying experience. Found the vehicle online; it was exactly what was shown. Had one minor issue after purchase, was quickly fully fixed to satisfaction.

My experience with Carmax was very poor. I was not able to take final delivery of my vehicle (Honda Ridgeline) until 1 month after I paid $1099 to have it shipped to my local Carmax store in Albany, NY. My original date to test drive was December 30 and no one contacted me to come in, it was impossible to get them on the telephone, so I went to the store to inquire. I had to make several visits to the store to get my issues resolved. They tried to get me to take the vehicle with a crack in the windshield and said if it got worse, I could submit it to my insurance. A manager suggested I look for another vehicle instead of them replacing the windshield. When I finally picked up my vehicle, it was not detailed and did not have an owner's manual. They offered to pay for both if I got them on my own, with a maximum of $150 for detailing.
Also, even though I did express check online, it took 2 hours to complete the paperwork. I saw other vehicles with a large yellow bow when the owner came to pick them up. I was presented with a dirty truck and a hustle out the door. This is only a brief summary of the poor service I received from Carmax.
I think I should be reimbursed for the cost of the delivery fee given the extensive amount of time it took to take possession of a vehicle I paid to have shipped.

Had to wait 45 minutes past my appointment time but once I was seen by a car rep, they moved quickly and were very professional. Definitely recommend carmax for selling vehicles.
