Car needed maintenance when I got it. I think they probably knew that. Check in was impersonal to the point of being rude and I was encouraged to purchase the most expensive liability/insurance protection without asking if I needed any part of it. 3 starts because check in was friendly and fast

Dollar rental this is not fair, under manager special you took a rental reservation and there was no mention of EV or Gas cars in that rental reservation. When i went to pickup you have handed a Chevy BOLT EV saying that's only ones you have assuring me that i have to charge the battery once on my return as the car is expected to go atleast 200 miles with full charge. My plan was to go to NYC from Albany ( 162 miles) to get a official documentation but i was forced to return because the car was out of charge in throughway after 95 miles due to this i missed my appointment because i won't be able to make it on time. I am at loss and have to return after spending 90 mins at a local walmart near poughepsie to charge the car (at least i got a fast charger). I spent $20 more for the charging and return home from there. You guys really messed up my day as i insisted several times about the range before accepting to take the car and my bad the reservation was prepaid with no cancel option. It was rip off and a bad taste for the customers. EV sucks for long distance travel especially newbies. You have to do something about it, as the customer service number i called is literally helpless and only causing more frustration. Dollar Rental Never EVER

Long story short. We were given a Tesla. Fully charged Tesla broke down in the morning because of some ERROR. Tesla would't give support because I am not the owner of the car. Called Dollar and waited 4 hours for tow truck.Dollar charged us for the tow truck and did not provide us with a new car. We were left alone in the middle of the street without a car in upstate NY without help from Dollar. Took a Taxi to Albany to rent a new car since Dollar wouldn't give us a new one. At the end we paid for the total rental and the tow truck. Tried to dispute the charges with AMEX but were unsuccessful. Dollar says we have to contact them the location where we rented the car, but guess what??? The phone number given by Dollar doesn't work. End of story, never again. DOLLAR & HERTZ are one company of thieves. Just Don't even think about it.

I have traveled all over the world and this may the most inept group of people I have ever seen Waited 30 mins in the the terminal Then they send you out to a garage No car so you have to wait another 35/40 minutes for a car Never again

There is no phone number to call any local customer service representative. You cannot connect with anyone at the front desk here at the Albany airport. You also end up on the phone for 30 minutes calling the 1800 number.

I paid ahead and was told I would owe $0 dollars at pick up. At pick up they wanted a $300 dollar hold on a credit card. I ended up forking over $600 for a 1 week rental. I needed to extend the rental and they wanted to charge it to a credit card and said they couldn't do it on the debit card I used the first time. This company will nickel and dime tf out of you. Paying $4.95 for customer service support? What? They also charged me for an added driver for my husband. Most rental companies don't charge that for married couples. I would rather spend the extra $20 dollars a day somewhere else than ever use this company again.

I picked up a rental car yesterday at the Albany airport from dollar Rent-A-Car. This was the only car left according to the representative. When I got in the car, someone had smoked marijuana in the car stunk. Very disappointed. I find the site on user friendly to contact a representative to speak and/or email my concern.Rental Record# 57824095

Charged me $200 for using their easy pass. The tolls were probably $20.00. Said I declined the use of the easy pass when I rented the car. No one made me aware of this option when I rented the car. I'll never rent from this dishonest company again.

We had an issue with our bill caused by the inept counter person at the E Elmhurst, NY location which was quickly rectified at the Albany airport location by Christine at the car return booth who was awesome.

This location at the Albany airport is the most inefficient place I’ve ever been to. Even ifyou reserve online, you must go in the airport to check in only to carry a piece ofPaper with your car info to a booth in the lot so they can look at it and tell you what space your car is in. You have to wait in line twice! There is nothing that tells you to go inside first.

Dollar rental is total scam ,a bunch of thieves. I rented a vehicle through economy bookings and paid for unlimited mileage and liability coverage, I was then told its through dollar rental when I picked up the vehicle i was asked about paying for gas I agreed to that however they decided to add liability coverage which I already paid for through economy bookings,now a rental caused me $600For 6 days.They trick you into paying for gas saying it's cheaper while adding in service you didn't asked for or needed,I didn't even use all of the gas so I'm stuck paying an extra $195 for absolutely nothing

Have tried for a month to get a resolution for a false fuel charge on my receipt. Charged for 1/2 tank of gas when I only used 1/4 tank. I have proof in the miles driven, but after 3 reports filed with Dollar no refund. Today I called back again to ask for a manager or someone to help me and the customer service person hung up on me.

Had to wait in line in the airport to fill out paperwork then wait in line again to get the key. Really inefficient. At Avis I can go right to the car
