There was a tragic death in my family today and I flew into Albany at the 12:30am. I called earlier last night and had them verify that they were open until 1am. They said absolutely, nothing to worry about. Well it was a ghost town inside and out in the garage at 12:40. The customer service representative on the phone who I could barely understand tells me at 12:45am that I can simply pick the car up the next day at noon. I called back and spoke to another representative, this guy told me he would call the empty desk and leave a message to have them call me back. Terrible experience on one of the worst days of my life. Id steer clear of these incompetent people and rent with someone else. It’ll probably take an act of congress to get refunded.

Buyer beware if you plan on renting here. Make sure you take pictures of the vehicle and keep your contract on file. I purchased the damage waiver and returned my rental in the same condition as provided to me. Enterprise sent me a damage claim shortly after and I'm going through the process of cleaning this up.

I will NEVER use enterprise again. I returned the rental 2 days early and was still charged the same price. Their off shore customer service is useless.

Would do a 0 star if possible. Made a reservation for a luxury vehicle online, arrived to pick up day of and was told that because of where I was traveling to (Canada), they would only allow a midsize vehicle or minivan due to “high theft rates of those types of vehicles”.
Update: I can rent a the same vehicle type from a Canadian airport in the same city, for about $70 less, from Enterprise. Which begs asking what the point of the policy is.

Pain in the neck to return a car. Girl at the front desk was not helpful at all. Lots of waiting around just to hand someone a key. Will not use again.
They also never have the car you select. It’s “similar” is what they’ll tell you, so just don’t ever expect to get what you want and you’ll be less disappointed.

Extremely smooth check in process with little to no wait line. The girl who checked us in was super fast and helped us with a weird card mix up. The only thing was, they didn’t have our car we wanted on the agreement and apparently the only one available was a mini van. Which hey, I’m down to clown in a mini van, just really wanted to drive that other nice car ): wish I remembered her name, she had really good customer service. The check out was also extremely easy and fast and were able to get into the airport way quicker then I expected. I will definitely be coming back!

Here is why for the 3 stars. I was very disappointed and enraged when during pick up the agent tried to sell me an insurance I did not need. No mater how I explained, he still ignored my explanations. That hard sell talking lasted about 15 minutes. Very difficult when you arrive tired from long flights with connections, delays and waiting time. It may not be the employee's fault but management's who need to be more aware and sensitive of customers needs and train their employees better. I was polite and courteous with the employee, but nevertheless very distressed by the experience. Needless to say that I was switching from Hertz and Avis to Enterprise, not because of problems but out of personal choice.

Overall rating of this place is good. Fast check-in and check-out. Clean car. However the gas policy is not explained clearly. It charged me a full tank while I drove less than 1/4 of the tank. I did not receive any print statement. When I read my email at home, it is already too late to complain.

If your referring to the enterprise in Oneanta, then the experience was not that helpful, I needed to renew my car and they couldn’t help, I had to drive back to the airport an hour and a half away to take care of it. I even talked to the manager in Oneanta, and he was unable or didn’t want to, I don’t know, but I don’t think I will be going to that site again.

Unfortunately I have to deal with this location twice a month.
You can’t check in online. Despite the information being in the system, they ask you all of the same questions over again.
Yesterday I was given keys to the wrong vehicle and when I expressed frustration I was reprimanded by their staff.
The ALB airport enterprise is one of the worst locations I have encountered. I have literally chosen to take Ubers just to avoid this place.
Try Hertz. I think I’m going to as well.

it would have been nice to be able to add my adult children to the car rental since I had all of their licenses at the airport even though they were not present. We had to go to another facility after they arrived to add them. We have been able to do this with other rental agencies. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Will not confirm my booking and will not answer their phones.
I made a reservation with them online for a car with a baby seat. The online service said they would reach me within 24 hours but heard nothing for 2 days.
After hearing nothing, I tried calling them but got their call service. They said they got in touch with the branch and they "should be contacting me soon". 2 more days pass without hearing anything.
Again after not hearing anything from them, I called again and got their call service. Call service said they escalated it and that they "should be contact me soon". 2 more days pass without hearing anything from them.
So for the third time after 6 days, I called again, got their call service. She gave me their direct line and told me how to make contact with them directly. I've call many times throughout the day and they wont pickup their phone.
I have used Enterprise for over 10 years and love them as a company but not this branch. I really wish they would just talk to me and/or confirm or deny my reservation. These false promises that they will call me is unfortunate and i just feel like im being strung along.

I appreciate you want me to call you again, but I've already called you and spoke to your people 3 times. They told me you need to call me. That there is the problem.

They're very selective about details on rentals over the phone. They mention nothing about a deposit, and that you cannot use a debit card or cash, it strictly needs to be a credit card. Waste of time. The staff need to be re-trained for customer service or find new jobs. If I could give them 0 stars for ruining our trip, I would.

For 7 straight years, my wife and I have been traveling back and forth across the country, due to her career.
We’ve been using Enterprise exclusively.
The last 3 times we’ve arrived at our destination, reservation for the rental car in hand, they’re no longer accepting payments via debit card, unless you have a round trip plane ticket.
And today, 8/23/2024, we’re trapped in Albany, with the money to rent a car, but not allowed to.
