Try your best to find a storage unit with receptive folks, that can ensure you they are meeting their promises within a timely and effective manner. Nothing but holds, "I don't knows," and calls demanding payments. Wishing I had more positive things to say for this location.

Stop renting units out and expecting people to walk up 3+ flights of stairs to put stuff in or take stuff out. Clearly you are understaffed! Customer elevators don’t work, so you have to ask the staff in order to access your unit, and if they don’t have anyone they tell you “take the stairs”, I moved in during October and moved out in December, customer elevators still didn’t work. Each time I went to remove my stuff from storage, they “didn’t have anyone working”, seems like a scam to keep you renting because who realistically is gonna carry items down 4-10 flights of stairs?! The big doors don’t work, they only had 1 working on Saturday. I was sharing it with another customer. Either raise your pay or close up. People send 10+ on hold trying to reach someone at your location but the second a payment is late you’re harassing the hell out of people. I moved out my unit on SATURDAY, they put in I moved out on Monday! Used the self check online option, that itself is terrible, and it still prompted me to go to the counter! Went to the counter and they couldn’t even find my keys??? Ended up giving me a random Uhual, no pictures taken or mileage checked.Awful experience and place. Honestly rent from homedepot!

Honestly, I would not recommend U-Haul to anyone who has any time to research their cargo and hauling options. They entice potential customers in by advertising a low "in-town" rate of $19.95. Only after the customer gives the representative all of the driver's information, approximate milage they plan to drive, if they opt for insurance coverage, and consents to terms and conditions do they receive the total estimate for "equipment rental" , which starts at over $100. The itemized list of charges doesn't even include a charge of $19.95!! The "equipment rental fee" at the top off my bill was $89.00. I asked how $19.95 magically became $89.00 (because the insurance was listed separately) and not one of the three representatives could explain this phenomonon. Because I was desperate for a moving van, I agreed. It turns out that U-Haul adds an extra mileage charge automatically. For what, I don't know, because the van still needs to be returned with the same amount of fuel as when you rent it. An "in-town" rental (meaning less than 100 miles) can be charged up to $0.89 per mile traveled, which is where the $89.00 "equipment rental" fee comes from. Add $11.00 for insurance plus taxes (8% in my case) that's $108.00 right of the bat. Just to reiterate, nowhere on the itemized list was a charge of $19.95, and not even the reps had an explanation for why the equipment rental fee was $89.00. One of the representatives had the nerve to claim "you're actually saving money". I have no idea what he was referring to or what type of math he was using. False advertising at its finest, ladies and gentlemen. To add to this experience, I dropped the "equipment" off after hours. I spent a good amount of time looking for a key drop box, but to no avail. I finally see a sign for instructions for return after hours: check the equipment in using the U-Haul app. So now I have to download the app, create an account, and watch a video explaining how to return the equipment. In the video it shows the last step is to drop the key in an ORANGE BOX NEAR THE DROP-OFF STATION. I looked and looked for this orange drop box and finally saw a mail-drop kind of slot on the wall NEXT TO THE ENTRANCE DOOR to the building. Not orange, not a box, nowhere near the equipment drop-off. Also, using the app, I was supposed to take pictures of the inside of the "equipment" and upload to the app, but this page was complete blank. No icons, no submit or next or back buttons. It was useless and empty, much like this very frustrating experience.Do not recommend.

Kept charging me even though I have canceled my storage unit before my due date and the Manager have confirmed they received my signed letter stating I have cancelled my unit. Called representative and they confirmed to remove my data and account completely since uhaul have no business to store my data and charging me again, I am not customer anymore. A week later, STILL receiving notice they charged me for late fee even though i have CANCELLED and they have CONFIRMED my cancellation. Worst storage company, cant even coordinate with their own employees.

They don't deserve even the one star! If I could give them a big fat ZERO - I totally would. A nightmare from the very start two months ago when I initially dropped off my rental, rented a unit. I dread even going to this damn place. All of the workers and management are unprofessional, incompetent and lazy to the extreme!! The elevator has been broken since the day after I moved in. They give us a song and a dance as to when it will be fixed. I have to take 5 flights of stairs up and down to get to my overpriced, small unit. They should give me a discount for never having access to my unit via the ELEVATOR, for having to take the stairs, take my trash with me?!?! And lastly, for putting up with all of their employees attitude problems!! And to not offer a single garbage can?!?! You want to charge me extra?!?? WTF?!? Oh, and don't be late on paying them!! I was a week late and the called me 25 times a day.... Left snotty, unprofessional messages. And charged me 30 something dollars in fees and crap. Lock me out of my unit.... The nerve. What this company just thinks we're going to take ALL of our stuff (including our trash???). That's simply DECENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Place filthy too. Full of vermin that will destroy all your stuff! Don't give your business to them.

Would not recommend this place. I have a unit on the 7th floor and the elevator has been broken for two months. It worked when I moved in 2 months ago, but broke the next day. Basically they have been manning the freight elevator since then, which is kinda annoying to have to ask for someone to use the elevator, but yesterday they didn't have the staff so I was told to take the stairs 7 floors up with my stuff. If you press them on when they will fix it, they all say "Well a costumer broke it". First, if a customer is able to break it by pressing buttons, you need a new elevator. Second, this happened two months ago. Pretty sure it's much more about needing a new expensive elevator and not wanting to pay for it at this point. Also literally every bay door is broken right now as well, so good luck getting furniture in if you need that. They do NOT want to pay to maintain this building and then blame the customers for not being able to access your unit. Go literally anywhere else because this has been going on for 2 months and is completely hit or miss if you can access your stuff without the stairs. If you ask when they will fix everything, all they will tell you is that they DID fix it but a customer immediately broke it again, but that happened 2 months ago and nothing has been fixed. It's on them at this point, and they don't even have a time frame for repairs.

Worst place ever. Had a reservation for 6:45. Went at 4, was told to come back after 6. Then they called at 5 and moved the rental to Saratoga but were still going to charge me the mileage. Would add over $100 before fuel to the rental for their mistake. Renter be ware!!!

Millions of dollars are made by this company but the customer elevator has been out of service for about 7 months, do not rent here unless you want to walk up the fire escape stairway to get to your rental unit once the customer service area closes at 7pm. Horrible and a major inconvenience and the building is very cold

I rented 2 U-Boxes to ship some stuff to Rochester. U-Box was way more affordable than PODs and others at only ~$1500 for rent and shipping. I could also reserve everything online, and see the price without calling for a quote. The U-Boxes were delivered on time with no issue. However, they were one day late with picking them up, but for my case this was not a big deal since we weren't on a tight schedule. If you are on a tight schedule, it may not hurt to call to confirm pick-up times.

Terrible Uhaul location in terms of renting a truck, always been this way though. However I want to put on record that I came in for my reservation and there were 2 women at the desk with a line of 9 people. The older woman clocked out & left the younger woman with the entire line of people because she had to leave since her ride was there..? The younger girl’s name is apparently Alyssa, if I caught it correctly, and seemed to literally be the only person there working. Everybody else was walking around doing nothing and was incredibly dismissive/unhelpful. Only person putting in a shift was the Alyssa girl, as I saw her doing her job + other peoples jobs from the time I checked in to the time I returned the vehicle. She 100% needs to be recognized. I may even come back and poach her to work at my company- as I was THAT impressed by her efforts.

Customer service severely lacking..representatives have no clue of policies set forth in the rental agreement or terms I never received any notice mail email or text messages about billing etc they had wrong city which they were contacted multiple times to fix it..they are now sending my bills to my emergency contact. I read the entire agreement and no where does it indicate they could send any personal information to a third party or emergency contact..it does however say they CANNOT send any personal information to a third party...My right to privacy has been compromised and violated..DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY..

Made a reservation to install a trailer hitch on my electric vehicle - during the reservation process I gave them the make and model of the car, and even noted to the woman at the counter that it's an electric vehicle, that I have an aftermarket hitch (EcoHitch) and that the bumper may have to be pulled for the install. After dropping the car off, the installer refused to do the install because they didn't know the bumper needed to be removed and that it was an electric vehicle. Avoid this location at all costs.

Corporate customer service is horrible, online reservation wouldn’t work at 9pm and they hung up on me after waiting 30 minutes on the phone. I came back in the morning to find out my reservation was canceled, but Jamie at the counter was great. Immediately got me a new reservation at a close by location and saved me a lot of stress.
