Inept. Comically slow. Twice, in a line of 5 or fewer, waited 15 minutes, only 2 people served, finally just gave up and left.

This place is useless. They have 3 walk in hours/week for passport applications and if you go during those hours, they’ll still turn you away.

The worst experience ever. You know the feeling when someone intentionally does everything they can because they DONT WANT TO HELP you. That is this place! I hope the bosses take a look at the comments to make improvements.

This post office is the worst one I’ve ever have to deal with. They have managed to loose 2 of my packages in 1 week. I called them to ask to double check if it’s there and the lady on the phone raised her voice at me and then hung up on me. This is absolutely disgusting behavior from people that are supposed to represent the US government. A month ago I had the same situation where it took 2 days for them to “find” my package. Not to mention the one they lost in this week has perishables in it that costed a fortune! Every time you go there to ask in person you are confronted with a horrible attitude! DO BETTER!! Unbelievable

The one woman has a terrible attitude for years now. She’s always doing you a favor by working there. I’ve lived in the area for 36 years year-round have no choice..

I moved to Amagansett last year from, SC. No mail from USPS is a pain but the ladies at the post office really try. Terry was actually the first local here that made me feel welcome and greeted me with a smile. She's the best. The mail service in general can be a pain, but Terry tries her best, and the other lady with blondish brown hair. I don't know her name. They aren't the ones who decided not to have mail delivered to our residences, so everyone needs to just take it a little easy on them when it comes to that. Just get a P.O. Box like the rest of us.

This awful Post Office in Amagansett NY (located at 501 Montauk Highway) gives new meaning to the term 'GOING POSTAL'.The female clerk named Terri is extremely lazy, disorganized, always has a really horrible attitude and major chip on her shoulder, inappropriately mouths off to customers for no reason, often goes on tirades, can't complete a simple task without making an issue of it, and allows people to cut the line while a handful have been waiting. You never know when Terri is going to snap and 'GO POSTAL' on you for an issue only she has created. (Thank God for the plexiglass barrier left over from Covid.)Often times when a package has arrived with a legitimate USPS tracking number and arrival time, she will tell you it's not there. If you question her, she explodes and begins screaming at you. Very bizarre behavior and really ugly to witness.I have complained several times to the Amagansett Postmaster Anthony about Terri's inept ability to do her job and he always mentions he is aware and will take care of the problem. But, the way Anthony normally takes care of it is to go home early, take a few days off, or hang out in the back of the Post Office far, far, far away from Terri and her loud mouth. It’s no wonder the Amagansett Post Office has so many terrible reviews from customers.

I went there to get a new passport, had an appointment, brought all the necessary items to submit for a new passport. She tells me I need my ID. I have my passport which is still valid for another week. She tells me I need my drivers license. I do not have that; I’ve been waiting on a new one. But I have a printed picture of the front. She needs a back photo. I don’t have that. She tells me that we DO NOT have the necessary information to submit for a new passport. That we have to leave, get what we need then make a new appointment. So I leave.Upon reading over the legal requirements for filing for a new passport, we DO meet all the requirements:“2. PROOF OF IDENTITYPresent your original identification and submit a photocopy of the front and back with your application. It must show a photograph that is a good likeness of you. Examples include:•Previous or current U.S. passport book/card”I have brought both a printed copy and the physical of my passport book. It says nothing about needing 2 forms of identification.By the criteria stated above, that would’ve been perfect!I drove here 3 hours because the post offices in my area had absolutely 0 appointments. This was the closest. Time to stay at a hotel nearby and try again. I leave for a trip soon.Thank you for the delay.
